Matt's Complete Guide for Destiny 2:

When D2 releases on PC, we will grind and get our first character up to light level 265.
- Then create another account, different class, and get him up to 265.
- Then create another account, different class, and get him up to 265.

How they base light level and engrams in Destiny 2 is completely different from Destiny 1.
- It bases it off your power (light level) instead of random RNGesus. So, if you're on a different
account, make sure you have your highest weapons transferred to that account before doing
milestones and turning in engrams.
- Youre basically capped at 265 power unless you get upgrades and exotics (explained below).
- Power and light level mean the same thing in this game.

New Accounts:
- On your new account(s), once you reach level 20, and beat the game, you can transfer over
your highest weapons and legendaries to your new account from your highest account.
- Recommend getting the Destiny 2 companion app when the game launches, really easy
through the app.
- You'll have tons of extra quests to do (including exotic quests - which will always give you an
upgrade exotic (new exotic weapon or armor 10 levels above your current light level)
- You want to try and save them until youre the highest light you can get (265+) so that they're
higher in light when they drop out of the engram if that makes sense.
- You don't absolutely need 3 characters to reach 305, but it's much easier.
- DO NOT CREATE ANOTHER CHARACTER WITH THE SAME CLASS (Ex. If you have a
warlock, don't create another warlock)
- Bungie patched this because people were just transferring over everything (Weapons
AND armor) and getting high light quickly.
- You should have one of each character 1 warlock, 1 titan, 1 hunter.
- Max of 3 characters only.

Weekly Resets (Upgrades):

- Now, each week, there will be weekly milestones that earn you upgrades which as stated above,
always grant you an upgrade to your light level.
- Say you're light level 295, you'll get an engram reward that's 300.
- There are multiple of these each week and here they are:
- Cayde 6's treasure maps (find Cayde's treasure chests around the planet selected, and
there's a chance at legendaries/exotics) - not always 100% though so people usually skip this,
however, I do it. Doesn't take long.
- Weekly nightfall strike (a random strike mission but with modifiers put on it meaning
you only have 15 minutes to complete it, your health only regenerates from sprinting, etc) -
LIMIT PARTY SIZE 3 People. Modifiers are RANDOM each week.
- Weekly Prestige nightfall strike (an even harder version of the nightfall -- usually,
your time is cut in half) - LIMIT PARTY SIZE 3 People.
- Flashpoints (each week, you complete public events on the planet that's selected until
you reach 100% done) - LIMIT PARTY SIZE 3 People.
- Call to Arms (Earn your worth in the crucible (online multiplayer) - usually only takes
3-4 matches to reach 100%) - LIMIT PARTY SIZE 4 People.
- The Raid (each week, do the raid for guaranteed 300 power rewards) - LIMIT PARTY
SIZE 6 People.
- Prestige Raid (harder version of the raid) - LIMIT PARTY SIZE 6 People.
- Trials of the Nine (competitive multiplayer 4v4 -- must win 7 games in a row and go
"Flawless" and you get 3-5 free rewards, it's awesome, but sweaty) - LIMIT PARTY SIZE 4
People. - ONLY AVAIALABLE ON WEEKEND.
- Clan XP (reach 100% in clan xp if in a clan for a free reward) - LIMIT PARTY SIZE
3, 4 or 6 people because you get clan xp from doing basically anything.
- XUR AGENT of THE NINE (He only appears on the weekend, and he sells only
exotics so visit him to see what he has to offer before he leaves) - Not very high power, but you
can always infuse (explained down below).

Clans:
- We will create a clan when the game launches because if you're in a clan, you get clan
engrams (more upgrades) for:
- Completing the Nightfall
- Completing the Raid
- Going flawless in Trials of the Nine
- Winning 1 crucible match
- Half of your fireteam (party) needs to be clan members to get the engrams.

- YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DO THE WEEKLY RESETS ON ALL 3 CHARACTERS EACH

WEEK, THE ONLY THING THAT CAN'T BE REWARDED MULTIPLE TIMES IS THE
CLAN ENGRAMS SO PICK WHICH ACCOUNT YOU WANT IT ON (ex. Character with
lowest light level at the time)

Armor Mods:
- Bungie added in armor mods in Destiny 2 which are extremely helpful.
- Once you reach power level 280, you can buy weapon/armor mods from the gunsmith at
the tower. These armor mods are mods you put on your guns/armor to increase its power by 5.
- So, if you have a 280 sword and it doesn't already have a mod, put one on, and it brings
it to 285. (Only 1 mod per armor/weapon)
- This is what allows you to get 305 light (max light) because as of right now in the
current version of Destiny 2, the highest engrams you can get are 300 (besides Exotics they can
be 305).
Infusion:
- INFUSION is a huge deal in Destiny 2.
- Say you have a 280 legendary sword, and you find a 283 rare sword from an engram,
instead of just deleting your legendary one, infuse the rare into the legendary to make it 283.
- This will cost legendary shards which you will get from dismantling legendary/exotic
weapons and armor (you will have a lot by the time you get to infusing hopefully).
- A big change they added to infusing in Destiny 2 is now you can only infuse the SAME
weapon type/armor type. In destiny 1, you can infuse anything into anything, in D2, you can only
infuse the same armor/weapon type (ex. Sword with sword, chest piece with chest piece).
- You CANT infuse a warlock chest piece with a titan chest piece etc.!
- If you have an armor mod (explained above) on your armor/weapon, this is where it's
extremely helpful. If you have a 295 level sword with an +5 armor mod on it, and you find a lvl
300 sword, you infuse the 300 sword into your 295 one and it becomes 305, because it makes
your sword 300 from the infusion and then adds the +5 armor mod as well to make it 305. This is
crucial for reaching max light level. This doesnt work for infusing exotics into exotics though.
- ALL EXOTICS HAVE ARMOR MODS ON THEM ALREADY.
- Once you get to the infusing portion of Destiny 2, it will become real easy and make
more sense, trust me, it's a lot of fun.

Online Multiplayer:
- Right now, Destiny 2 is in pre-season.
- There are ONLY 2 options (besides Trials of the Nine) for multiplayer right now.
- You can choose quickplay which is casual multiplayer (TDM, Kill Confirmed, and
Domination)
- Or you can choose competitive which is competitive multiplayer (S & D and
SURVIVAL) In survival, each team only has 8 lives and once youre out of lives, you cant
respawn, whoevers team dies first once out of lives, loses obviously.
- If its a 1v1 in survival and both people camp, a domination capture point will spawn
and a team must capture it to win or you tie. It adds some incentive.
- Trials of the Nine is based on the competitive mode. Again, only appears on weekend.
- Bungie got a lot of scrutiny for lack of choices to pick and play from so once they balance out
the game and weapons, they said theyll be a lot more choices.
- Private matches/custom games arent in the game yet, but will be coming by December.
- I dont know how it will be on PC because guns are balanced differently, but right now on
console, two guns (The MIDA Multi Tool Scout Rifle and Uriels Gift Auto Rifle) rule the game.
- Bungie knows about this from research data, and theyre going to nerf them soon.
- Competitive settings still havent been set yet for MLG so competitive playlist is kind of trash
because it has Radar, power weapons and supers).
- There are hidden ELO rankings for multiplayer, and Ive attached a picture below of my
current ELO ranks for preseason Destiny 2. They dont really do much for quickplay, because
Bungie removed skill based match making due to complaints.
- Playing crucible multiplayer solo in Destiny is aids. Play with people (clan, etc.).
My Elo Ranks:

- There is gold, silver, platinum, diamond and top 500 I think.

DLCs:
- It might cost more, but make sure you get the DLCs for Destiny 2 as money hungry Activision
will ruin your experience on Destiny if you dont get them because they add new missions,
strikes, maps, guns/armor, etc.
- DLC 1 is confirmed for Winter 2017, and DLC 2 is confirmed for Spring 2018.

Micro Transactions:
- There are MTX in the game, but as of right now (pray it stays this way) its cosmetic only and
everything can be earned in game.
- Cosmetics include shaders (weapon skins), sparrows (your vehicle), dances, emotes, etc.

Extra Notes:
- If I missed anything, Im sure you can ask me when the game releases and I can tell you!
- Like halfway through the campaign, youll be rewarded with a choice of exotics, but can only
pick 1, pick the Sunshot handcannon. Thing is so OP for Raid/Nightfall/PvE Activities.
- When you complete the mission for Zavala that says Complete 2 strikes, he will give you a
reward which will offer 3 legendary weapons but you can only choose 1. Pick the Nameless
Midnight scout rifle. Its so OP for Raid/Nightfall/PvE activities.
- Yes, you can have the Sunshot and Nameless Midnight equipped at the same time.
- You dont start out with all 3 subclasses for your character, you earn them as you progress
through the game.
- You dont start out with all abilities, earned through upgrade points (complete missions, etc.)
- Strike missions are missions with a boss at the end you must defeat.
- Quests are, well, just think of Runescape. Multiple steps to them.
- Just 20 days away, cant wait for Salmon Squad to take over Destiny 2!
