ABSTRACT

THE EFFECT OF GROUP COUNSELING SERVICE TOWARDS


CHOLERIS CHARACTER OF STUDENTS GRADE X SMA NEGERI 1
PEGAJAHAN ACADEMIC YEAR 2016/2017

Choleris character of students grade X SMA Negeri 1 Pegajahan is still


classified in low level. The factors made by lack of service given by Counseling
and Guidance teacher especially group counseling service related with students
choleris character. The research is aimed to enhance students choleris character
through group counseling service. The hyphothesis of the research is there are
possitive effect of group counseling service towards choleris character of students
grade X.
This research was applied by using experiment research method. The
instrument used was questionnaire consisted of 35 questions. The population of
the research was 157 students grade X, while the sample was taken by purposive
technique, so it was 10 students as a sample. The data collection used was pre-test
and post-test method.
The hyphothesis test used was average equality test (Ttest) based on final
data management (post test) was obtained 115,5 as average point while pre-test
was 68,8. Ttest hyphothesis result showed with 5% significance and 9 degree
freedom, then (ttest > ttable or 20,13 > 2,228), it meant that ttest hyphothesis test was
H0 rejected and H1 accepted.
It could be concluded that group counseling service gave effect towards
choleris character of students grade x sma negeri 1 pegajahan academic year
2016/2017.

FEELING TO HAVE A JOB AFTER GRADUATE FOR STUDENTS
GRADE XII SMK NUSANTARA LUBUK PAKAM ACADEMIC YEAR

Students anxious feeling to have a job after graduate for students grade
XII SMK Nusantara Lubuk Pakam was classified in low level. The factors made
by lack of service given by Counseling and Guidance teacher especially
information service related with students anxious feeling to have a job after
graduate. The research is aimed to minimize students anxious feeling to have a
job after graduate through Information Service. The hyphothesis of the research is
there are possitive effect of Information Service towards students anxious feeling
to have a job after graduate for students grade XII.
This research was applied by using experiment research method. The
instrument used was questionnaire consisted of 40 questions. The population of
the research was 112 students grade XII, while the sample was taken by purposive
technique, so it was 56 students as a sample. The data collection used was pre-test
and post-test method.
The hyphothesis test used was average equality test (Ttest) based on final
data management (post test) was obtained 133,71 as average point while pre-test
was 93,96. Ttest hyphothesis result showed with 5% significance and 55 degree
freedom, then (ttest > ttable or 18,2 > 1,671), it meant that ttest hyphothesis test was H0
rejected and H1 accepted.
It could be concluded that Information Service gave effect towards
anxious feeling to have a job after graduate for students grade XII SMK
Nusantara Lubuk Pakam Academic Year 2016/2017.

ABSTRACT
AN EFFORT TO RELIEVE STUDENTS HABIT IN CHEATING
THROUGH GROUP GUIDANCE SERVICE OF STUDENTS GRADE XI
SMK NEGERI 7 MEDAN ACADEMIC YEAR 2016/2017

This research was implemented based on the phenomena happened in


students grade XI SMK 7 Medan in order to relieve students habit cheating was in
high level. Through this group guidance, it was expected to relieve studentss
habit cheating. The aim of the research was to understand the effective group
guidance service method in order to relieve students cheating habit for students
grade XI.
This research was action class research of guidance and counseling using
three cycles. The subject of the research was 10 students grade XI, which was
collected by using interview and observation analysis.
The research was aimed to relieve students cheating habit and to prove
was the Group Guidance Service effective to relieve students cheating habit for
students grade XI.
The data collection method used was interview and observation. The data
analysis technique was implemented towards observation result, while the data
analysis was descriptive qualitative because comparing students inferior feeling
level among first stage (pracycle) with cycle I, cycle II, and cycle III of final result
(post cycle).
The percentage of the research result before being given group guidance
service was in high level, approximately 90% or 9 students, while the medium
level was 10% or 1 student. At cycle I, the effectivity of group guidance service
was 54%. 50% of students was in high level, and 50% for medium level. At cycle
II, the effectivity of group guidance service was 68%, while 20% or 2 students
was in high level, 50% or 5 students was in medium level, and 30% or 3 students
was in low level. Then, at cycle III, the percentage of students in high level could
be minimized until 0%, it caused 40% or 4 students in medium level and 60% or 6
students in low level. It could be concluded that after being given three cycles of
group guidance service, there were reduction effect. It resulted that there were no
high level of students cheating habit.

SOCIALIZING IN SCHOOLS ENVIRONMENT THROUGH GROUP
GUIDANCE SERVICE OF STUDENTS GRADE XI SMK NUSANTARA

This research was implemented based on the phenomena happened in


students grade XI SMK Nusantara Lubuk Pakam where students emotional
intelligence in socializing in schools environment was in low level. Through this
group guidance, it was expected to improve students emotional intelligence in
socializing in schools environment. The aim of the research was to understand the
effective group guidance service method in order to improve students emotional
intelligence in socializing in schools environment for students grade XI.
This research was action class research of guidance and counseling using
two cycles. The subject of the research was 10 students grade XI, which was
collected by using interview and observation analysis.
The research was aimed to improve students emotional intelligence in
socializing in schools environment and to prove whether Group Guidance Service
was effective to improve emotional intelligence in socializing in schools
environment for 10 students grade XI of SMA Nusantara Lubuk Pakam.

intelligence level in socializing in schools environment among first stage

level was 30% or 3 students, and another 10% or 1 student was in high level. At
cycle I, the percentage of the students emotional intelligence in socializing in
schools environment resulted as followed; 30% of students was in low level, 50%
of students was in medium level, and 20% for high level. At cycle II, there was
effectiveness of group guidance service where there were no students got low
level (0%). It showed 70% or 7 students were in medium level and 10% or 1
student was in high level.
It could be concluded that after being given two cycles of group guidance
service, there were improvement. It resulted that there were no more students low
emotional intelligence level in socializing in schools environment

This research was implemented based on the phenomena happened in
students grade XI SMA AL-WASHLIYAH 3 Medan in order to relieve humility
habit towards peer was in low level. Through this group guidance, it was expected
to relieve students humility habit. The aim of the research was to understand the
effective group guidance service method in order to relieve students humility
habit for students grade XI.
This research was action class research of guidance and counseling using
two cycles. The subject of the research was 10 students grade XI, which was
collected by using interview and observation analysis.
The research was aimed to relieve students humility habit towards peer
and to prove was the Group Guidance Service effective to relieve students
humility habit towards peer for students grade XI.
The data collection method used was interview and observation. The data
analysis technique was implemented towards observation result, while the data
analysis was descriptive qualitative because comparing students humility habit
improvement towards peer among first stage (pracycle) with cycle I, cycle II of
final result (post cycle).
The percentage of the research result after being given group guidance
service was at cycle I showed 40% improvement, where 10% of students was in
high level, 40% was in medium level and 50% was still in low level. At cycle II,
the effectivity of group guidance service increased, where 70% or 7 students was
in medium level, and 30% or 3 students was in high level. It could be concluded
that group guidance service was effective to relieve students humility habit
towards peer for students grade XI SMA AL-WASHLIYAH 3 Medan Academic
Year 2016/2017.

Students cognitive dissonation of students grade X SMA Swasta YPK


Medan was still classified in high level. The factors made by lack of service given
by Counseling and Guidance teacher especially information service related with
cognitive dissonation behavior at students grade X. The research was aimed to
affect students cognitive dissonation through Information Service. The
hyphothesis of the research was there were possitive effect of Information Service
towards cognitive dissonation behavior of students grade X.
This research was applied by using experiment research method. The
instrument used was questionnaire consisted of 31 questions. The population of
the research was 160 students grade X, while the sample was taken by random
sample technique, so it was 40 students as a sample. The data collection used was
pre-test and post-test method.
The hyphothesis test used was average equality test (Ttest) based on final
data management (post test) was obtained 103,875 as average point while pre-test
was 71,57. Ttest hyphothesis result showed with 5% significance and 39 degree
freedom, then (ttest > ttable or 14,602 > 1,684), it meant that t test of hyphothesis test
was H0 rejected and H1 accepted.
It could be concluded that Information Service gave effect towards
cognitive dissonation behavior of students grade X SMA Swasta YPK Medan
Academic Year 2016/2017.

AN EFFORT TO IMPROVE SELF CONFIDENCE
THROUGH MODELLING THE WAY OF INFORMATION SERVICE FOR
STUDENTS GRADE VIII MTS YASPI LABUHAN DELI

This research was implemented based on the phenomena happened in

students grade VIII MTS Yaspi Labuhan Deli, Medan showing the low level of

students self confidence. Through modelling the way of information service, it

was expected to improve students self confidence. The aim of the research was to

understand the effective modelling the way of information service in order to

improve students self confidence of students grade VIII MTS Yaspi Labuhan Deli

Medan. This research was action class research of guidance and counseling

using two cycles. The subject of the research was 30 students grade VIII, which

was collected by using interview from their Guidance and Counselling teacher.

The result of the research showed that the modelling the way of

information service could improve self confidence of students grade VIII MTS

Yaspi Labuhan Deli Medan, academic year 2016/2017. It could be seen from pra

cycle stage where students self confidence was average 49,026%, then at cycle

was 63,95%, and finally at cycle II significantly improve become 81,25%. It could

be concluded that previous hypothesis claiming modelling the way of information

service could improve students self confidence for students grade VIII MTS

Yaspi Labuhan Deli Medan Academic Year 2016/2017 was scientifically accepted.

The goal of this research was to explore the effect of discussion technique
of information service towards positive self esteem attitude of students grade X
SMA Swasta Sumatera Academic Year 2016/2017.
This research was applied by using experiment research method with pre-
test and post-test design. The discussion technique of information service was free
variable (X), while positive self esteem attitude was bound variable (Y). The data
analysis technique using in this research was a pre-test and post-test questionnaire
consisted of 32 valid and reliable questions. For knowing the students mean
before being given pre-test was to find out the mean 59,97 and deviation standard
score 4,67. Then, there was significant improvement after post-test interview, with
students mean 90,09 and deviation standard score 4,67.
Based on T test result, T test = 21,82 with o = 0,05 and n = 32-1=31, and
Ttable = 0,349. From the previous data, it was seen that t test > ttable (21,82 > 0,349), it
meant hypothesis was accepted where there was significant effect of discussion
technique of information service towards positive self esteem attitude of students
grade X SMA Swasta Sumatera Academic Year 2016/2017.

The goal of this research was to explore the effect of discussion technique
of information service and students independent character in their daily activities
whether at school or at home. The population of this research was students grade
XI SMK Kesehatan Ganda Husada Tebing Tinggi Academic Year 2016/2017
consisted of 60 students, where 30 students of them became sample. Sample was
taken by implementing Purposive Sampling Technique, where sample was
collected because of specific requirements.
The data collection of this research used closed questionnaire consisted of
35 questions. From the 35 questions, 30 questions was acclaimed valid and 5
questions was invalid. Then, pre-test and post-test managements were given for
students consisted of 30 questions. 5% significant rate was used as hyphothesis
criteria, accepted or rejected. From pre-test result, it showed lowest score was 65
and highest score was 89, with average/mean was 77. There was improvement
after being given post-test, where lowest score became 70 and highest score
became 100, with average/mean was 88,7.
Based on the research, hyphothesis was accepted. There was positive and
significant effect of discussion technique of information service towards students
independent character. From the test, ttest = 4,810, and ttable with 5% significant and
db 30 was 2,750 (4,810 > 2,750). It could be concluded that 5% significant rate in
t test was significantly higher than ttable (4,810 > 2,750). The conclusion was there
was positive effect of discussion technique of information service towards
students independent character of students grade XI SMK Kesehatan Ganda
Husada Tebing Tinggi Academic Year 2016/2017.

INFORMATION SERVICE TOWARDS POSSITIVE CHARACTER
ESTABLISHMENT OF STUDENTS GRADE X SMK KESEHATAN
GANDA HUSADA TEBING TINGGI ACADEMIC YEAR 2016/2017

The goal of this research was to explore whether there was the effect or
not between focus group discussion technique of information service and students
possitive character establishment in their daily activities at home or at school. The
population of this research was students grade X SMK Kesehatan Ganda Husada
Tebing Tinggi Academic Year 2016/2017 consisted of 60 students, where 30
students of them became sample. Sample was taken by implementing Purposive
Sampling Technique, where sample was collected because of specific
requirements.
The data collection of this research used closed questionnaire consisted of
35 questions. From the 35 questions, 24 questions was acclaimed valid and 11
questions was invalid. Then, pre-test and post-test managements were given for
students consisted of 24 questions. 5% significant rate was used as hyphothesis
criteria, accepted or rejected. From pre-test result, it showed lowest score was 36
and highest score was 73, with average/mean was 52,9. There was improvement
after being given post-test, where lowest score became 60 and highest score
became 80, with average/mean was 73,2.
Based on the research, hyphothesis was accepted. There was positive and
significant effect of focus group discussion technique of information service
towards students possitive character establishment. From the test, ttest = 4,858, and
ttable with 5% significant and db 30 was 2,750 (4,858 > 2,750). It could be
concluded that 5% significant rate in t test was significantly higher than ttable (4,858
> 2,750). The conclusion was there was positive effect of focus group discussion
technique of information service towards students possitive character
establishment of students grade X SMK Kesehatan Ganda Husada Tebing Tinggi
Academic Year 2016/2017.

The goal of this research was to explore humble character of students


grade X through group guidance service at SMA Nurul Hasanah Tembung
2016/2017.
The method used was experiment method, where instrument used to
collect pre-test data was closed questionnaire. 25 pre-test questions and 25 post-
test questions was valid and reliable result using product moment. It was expected
that students could share their problem honestly and fairly.
For knowing students average score, so writer used the mean formula,
standard deviation and then finding the final score.
Based on the research, there was significant effect of group guidance
discussion technique towards humble character of students grade X SMA Nurul
Hasanah Tembung 2016/2017 Academic Year. From the test, ttest = 11,12, with db
= n-1 = 10-1 where significant rate was 11,12, then ttest > ttable (13,12 > 2,26).
When there was significant positive effect of group guidance discussion
technique towards humble character of students, so group guidance was one of
service of Guidance and Counselling service that could explore students humble
character.
