Parmetros empleados en el diagnstico de la RCIU:

Cociente LF/CA x 100: Valor normal > 22 2 %. Si > de 24 %
sospechar RCIU asimtrico.
Cociente CA/LF: < de 4.25: Posible RCIU asimtrico
Indice ponderal fetal Peso fetal en g / (LF X 3) < 7.
TCS pared anterior fetal < 5 mm.
Conducta: En presencia de alguno(s) de los factores de riesgo ms
frecuentemente asociados a la RCIU, como son:
Edad materna menor de 16 o mayor de 35 aos
Baja talla
Antecedentes de enfermedades genticas
Bajo peso anterior
Enfermedades maternas asociadas o propias del embarazo (anemia
severa. asma, hipertensin, etc.)
Debiera iniciarse la pesquisa ultrasonogrfica del mismo a partir de las
24 semanas, a travs de la biometra fetal, que incluya: la CC y la CA.
Estas mensuraciones deben repetirse a las 28 y las 32 semanas.

En el momento que se diagnostique clnica y ecogrficamente una

RCIU se proceder a la hospitalizacin de la paciente:
Criterios de hospitalizacin:
Enfermedad materna que condiciona por ella el ingreso
Discordancia AU/EG con signo de menos
Ausencia de crecimiento fetal en dos exmenes
ultrasonogrficos sucesivos con diferencia de 2-3 semanas.
Feto con crecimiento entre los percentilos 5 y 10 en
embarazos a trmino.
Feto con crecimiento por debajo del percentilo 3 en
embarazos no a trmino.
Oligoamnios (por diagnstico ultrasonogrfico).
