Institutional Collaboration for Faculty Development and Course Design
Instruction in collaboration and partnership with central Information Technology
Systems (ITS), Advanced Technology Group (ATG), Institutional Assessment Services
(IAS), and Digital Media Lab (DML) to engage faculty in redesigning courses with a focus
on technology enhanced learning integration incorporating e-learning instructional
strategies, such as Social Media, Online Guest Speakers; Online Assessment Rubrics,
Online Team Debates, and course organization. Courses developed include a wide range
of disciplines such as Business and Professional Studies, Information Systems, Personal
Finance, Human Resources and Organizational Development, and Poetry
Collaborate with Information Technology Systems (ITS) and Advanced Technology
Group (ATG) to design, develop, and implement school-wide UVaCollab Site template
for consistent design and delivery of quality online courses with online assessment
Collaborate with Information Technology Communications (ITC) leadership and
stakeholders across the University to develop and lead and a university wide approach
for Instructional Design approach for Online Learning and LMS coordination through the
Distance Learning Community

Supervision
Manage instructional technologist for faculty projects and tool support

Grants Awarded

Learning Management System Project Awarded: $300,000
In partnership with Director of UVaCollab, our learning management system, we will
develop, design, and implement an innovative new pedagogically driven system that will
enhance how faculty design courses for engaged learning. We will also adopt new best in
class tools for student-centered learning experiences. This was awarded from the Vice
Provost for Information Technology.

AAU STEM Grant Awarded: $40,000

Collaboration between the University of Virginias Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE)
and A&S Learning Design & Technology (LDT). This partnership will develop, design, and
implement a Learning Assistant Program for large enrollment first year courses in the
STEM disciplines to enhance a student-centered, evidence-based pedagogy to create
more effective learning experiences for students, 2017-2019.

Distance Learning Grants Initiatives Awarded: $375,000

A High School Partnership Project: Building Innovative Distance Learning
Mathematics Courses for High School Teachers. Grant provides high school math
teachers math graduate courses using a Lesson Study on-line course, 2006.

Eisenhower Grant for Math Connects Distance Learning Graduate Course: Geometry.
Grant provided teachers tuition to take the math graduate course and attend an
orientation session at the Virginia Tech Math Emporium, 2000.

Eisenhower Grant for Math Connects Distance Learning Graduate Course: Algebra.
Grant provided teachers tuition to take the math graduate course and attend an
orientation session at the Virginia Tech Math Emporium, 1999.
