Dear Representative Luetkemeyer,

As a dietetic intern and a constituent, I urge you to support the Fairness for Breastfeeding
Mothers Act of 2017. Mothers face several barriers to breastfeeding, one of which is access to a
place to pump or breastfeed when not at home. Not breastfeeding increases risk of morbidity and
mortality for both the mother and the infant, increases health care costs, and creates economic
losses for families and employers. Many national and international health organizations and
agencies recommend breastfeeding. Please make the health of mothers and children a higher
priority by supporting this Act. Thank you for your consideration and please contact me if you
would like to discuss this issue further.
