Primary Crushing Plant Operation

VIII. STANDARD JOB PROCEDURE

SJP-001-13 Secondary Blasting at Apron Feeder Discharge Chute

Purpose
To establish a proper procedure of Secondary Blasting at Apron Feeder Discharge Chute to
prevent damage to equipment and injury to personnel, and avoid operational delays.
Effectiveness Criteria
Secondary Blasting at Apron Feeder Discharge Chute is properly carried out without causing
operational delays, injury to personnel and equipment damage.
1. Relay to control room coordinator the occurrence of ore hang up and request for blasters from
Mine.
2. Shutdown all operating equipment at Primary Crushing Plant (PCP) within the Circuit in which the
blasting activity is required.

2.1 In case Circuit #3 and/or Circuit #4 require/s the blasting activity follow these steps:
2.1.1 Stop the operation of its Apron Feeder and close its arc gate.
2.1.2 Stop the operation of its Jaw Crusher once there are no ore left in its crushing cavity.
2.1.3 Stop the operation of its Washing Screen and conveyors.
2.1.4 Continue the operation of Conv #2C if either Circuit #3 or Circuit #4 is still operational
otherwise stop Conv #2C.
2.2 If Circuit #1 and/or Circuit #2 require the blasting activity follow steps 2.1.1 to 2.1.3.
2.3 Close water sprayers in the circuit.

2.4 Apply Lock-out/ Tag-out to the equipment to prevent possible injuries.

3. Before the actual blasting activity has to be conducted, advice the control room tender to inform
nearby areas such as Mill Gate, CHC discharge, Dewatering and Slime Circuit regarding the
blasting activity to avoid panic and chaos.
4. Advise Control Room coordinator to request Drive House to stop Cable Hauled Conveyor prior to
the setting-up of dynamite.

5. Allow the Safety Supervisor and authorized blaster to check-up or assess the hang up ore.
6. Stop the operation of other circuits once dynamite is placed and prepared for blasting.
7. Advise all operators and personnel present at the site to head for safe distance away from Jaw
Crusher Area (near Storage 3 and PCP comfort room).
8. PCP Supervisor should press the blasting buzzer installed at PCP comfort room to warn others of
the blasting activity.
9. PCP Supervisor should check if hang up ore shattered before allowing the resumption of Jaw
Crusher operations.
9.1 Additional blasting activity may be required if hang up ore did not break loose.

9.2 Resume normal operation once discharge chute is cleared from hang up ores.
10. Monitor operation and record stoppage for reference.

SJP-001-14 Secondary Blasting at Scalper Slide Chute

Purpose
To establish a proper procedure of Secondary Blasting at Scalper Slide Chute to prevent
damage to equipment and injury to personnel, and avoid operational delays.
Effectiveness Criteria
Secondary Blasting at Scalper Slide Chute is properly carried out without causing operational
delays, injury to personnel and equipment damage.
1. Relay to control room coordinator the occurrence of ore hang up and request for blasters from
Mine.
2. Before the actual blasting activity has to be conducted, advice the control room tender to inform
nearby areas such as Mill Gate, CHC discharge, Dewatering and Slime Circuit regarding the

5.1 Follow these steps in shutting down an operating circuit:

5.1.1 Stop the operation of its Apron Feeder and close its arc gate.
5.1.2 Stop the operation of its Jaw Crusher once there are no ore left in its crushing cavity.
5.1.3 Stop the operation of its Washing Screen and conveyors.
5.1.4 Continue the operation of Conv # 2A, 2B and 2C.
5.2 Close water sprayers in the circuit.

5.3 Apply Lock-out/ Tag-out to the equipment to prevent possible injuries.

6. Advise all operators and personnel present at the site to head for safe distance away from Jaw
Crusher Area (near Storage 3 and PCP comfort room).
7. PCP Supervisor should press the blasting buzzer installed at PCP comfort room to warn others of
the blasting activity.
8. PCP Supervisor should check if hang up ore shattered before allowing the resumption of Jaw
Crusher operations.
9.1 Additional blasting activity may be required if hang up ore did not break loose.
9.2 Resume normal operation once scalper slide chute is cleared from hang up ores.
9. Monitor operation and record stoppage for reference.
