Running records: I attended a staff PD session run by the Reading Recovery teacher on taking and analysing running
records. Giving immediate feedback, important to have children retell the story which tells a lot about what they have
retained and understood. Teacher to feedback - one thing to celebrate, one thing to work on. Are they reading with fluency
or barking at print? Teachers focus on what is the next teaching point? Ensure book boxes have texts that are 2-3 levels
easier.
