Rubric and Reflection

The lesson is over instructional software. Instructional software can help students be
more interactive in the classroom. Instructional software also has the potential to introduce
concepts to students with or without disabilities. Using technology in the classroom should not
be used as a crutch, but as a tutor. It should challenge students to think outside the box. Critical
thinking skills, problem solving, and many other learning assessments can be utilized through
technology.

Microsoft Publisher and other similar data bases help students understand and learn
message design. Microsoft Publisher can help students understand techniques in marketing and
adverting. This assignment is primarily used for high school and above, ages 15 and up.
Introducing computer programs such as Publisher help students advance their knowledge in
technology. Students will be evaluated on creativity, organization, grammar, and visual design,
and instruction.

Using Microsoft Publisher, students will create an educational flyer including all
elements, and will be evaluated using the rubric below.
Students will illustrate all elements of the flyer by using Microsoft Publisher with 90%
accuracy.
Following the rubrics guidelines, students will demonstrate the use of instructional
software by creating an educational flyer using Microsoft Publisher.
Students will construct an organized, creative, and educational flyer using a Latin
American theme for a school dance.
