MINUTES OF THE SECOND MEETING OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT 2016

Agendas:
1. Chairpersons Welcoming Speech

1.1 Mdm. Sharifah Fadzilah bt. Wan Ibrahim as the chairperson begins the meeting by
apologising all members for the late information for the meeting. Thus, she welcomes all
members for coming to the meeting.The purpose of the meeting today is to discuss the
intervention programmes for exam classes.

2. Hebat Bacaan
2.1 The need to use the Hebat Bacaan topics during lessons.All teachers needed to expose
students to the methods of reading literacy.There are 20 units all together. Teachers are to
creatively incorporate them in the syllabus. Madam Sharifah shared all the materials and
techniques of Hebat.The panel did try a few techniques of teaching reading in class.The
meeting for today is considered as LDP for this programme.

3. ULBS, PBS and OPS English

3.1 As usual PBS will be carried out on schedule for lower form classes.For now,it is still done
offline. Anyway, for Form 1 classses the students needed to undergo the Oral Proficiency in
English for Secondary Schools (OPS English) Programme for the first half year.

3.2 The ULBS will be carried out for all the upper form classes.

4. The Departments Programme for 2016

4.1 Peer teaching we still need to do it in PT3 classes. Peer teaching will be carried out for all
forms if possible.
 4.2 Extra classes the ledakan and iltizam classes aregoing on for all the exam
classes.Schedules had been arranged for the rotations of subjects.We are focusing on the
exam questions.

4.3 English Week All the activities were successfully done.Prizes are yet to be given.

5. Other Matters

5.1 Mr.Annur suggested doing a Grammar Camp for the exam classes.However,the activity is
still to be keep in view.

The meeting was adjourned at 4.15pm.
