IE101 Kursus Asas Pengajaran &


Pembelajaran
Description:
The Kursus Asas Pengajaran (KAP) or Foundations in University Teaching (FUT) is a course aimed at
developing passionate, productive and scholarly higher education teachers who will facilitate students
learning in an e ective, creative, responsible and scholarly way towards developing holistic,
entreprenuerial and balanced graduates.
The KAP course targets to help beginning higher education (HE) teachers in enhancing their

understanding and develop skills and con dence in their instructional practices, drawing from their own
re ections, experience of their peers and the educational literature (science of learning and arts of
teaching)

Objective:
Describe UiTM support structures and policies in providing a creative, e ective, responsible and

scholarly learning and teaching ecosystem.


2. Explain the impact of Malaysian Education Blueprint 2015-2025 (Higher Education) student outcomes
and

the 21st Century Learning on designing a course, delivering the design and assessing student
performance.
3. Provide guidance in assessing the worthiness of course learning outcomes and the constructively
aligned

instructional delivery and its aligned assessment methods.

Learning
Description:
This course provide information for participant regarding current issues and innovation in teaching and

learning aspects.

IE103 Networking for Academics


Description:
This course suitable for academic sta in expanding their network by attending seminars and
conferences.

IE104 Vocal Training for Academics


Description:
This course assist the participant or improvise teaching and learning aspects for academic sta .

Objective:
(i) Implement techniques to e ectively activate your voice, increase your vocal stamina and
dramatically

improve your tone and clarity;


(II) Identify the dynamics of your voice, and be more e ective in your vocal delivery;
(iii) Understand how others hear your voice, and what it says about the delivery of your message.

IE105 Curriculum Design


Description:
The course guides academic administrator in meeting the needs and requirements of academic program
regulators. Hence, academic administrators become competent in curriculum design, evaluation and
review to ensure the achievement of program outcomes. This learning module intends to provide
participants with the functional know-how on designing a program that supports and nurtures holistic
and balanced learners development for the 21st Century that will support iCGPA implementation.

Objective:
(i) Explain the philosophy and concept of Integrated Cumulative Grade Point Average (iCGPA);
(ii) Describe the philosophy and approach of outcomes-based education curriculum design;
(iii) Explain the criterion in crafting Program Aim, Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) and Program

Learning Outcomes (PLOs);


(iv) Explain the curriculum mapping (course-PLOs/MQF) process and provide samples of appropriate
mapping;
(v) Explain the formulation and provide samples of Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs);

Description:
The program provides intensive training in reading, writing, listening, speaking and presentation skills to
the academics in improving their English language competency in order to provide e ective
communication and knowledge transmission.

in

order to achieve their career and professional goals.

IE108 English Gives Us The Extra Mile


(EGTEM)
Description:
The program provides intensive training in reading, writing, listening, speaking and presentation skills to
the academics in improving their English language competency in order to provide e ective
communication and knowledge transmission. The module in this program also can be used to enhance
their English language pro ciency in order to achieve their career and professional goals.

Objectives:
(i) To determine participants level of pro ency and placing them at the appropriate level from Beginner

to Upper-Intermediate;
(ii) To access, deliver and commission ELT Skills;
(iii) To train users/administrator;
(iv) To determine the level for issuance of certi cate.

IE110 Pre-PhD Preparation


Description:
This course is aimed to prepare academicians who plan to pursue their PhD journey to be more
motivated

before applying for the scholarship.

At the end of the course, parcipants would be able to:
(i) understand the whole process of PhD journey;
(ii) be prepared mentally and physically in lieu of their PhD journey;
(iii) produce good PhD proposal and excellent presentation skills in becoming a PhD student.

IE111 PhD Research Methodology


Description:Preparing for PhD is the rst crucial step in making sure that the PhD process runs according
to plan. Academics planning to pursue PhD need to realize the need to clarify the issue to be researched
and selected research methods. PhD candidates also need to be familiar with the genre of writing a
thesis in order to be able to communicate their research outcome in a language acceptable to their
readers. The PhD Research Methodology course provides a platform of extensive knowledge and skills
for participants before embarking and subsequently, completing their PhD journey successfully.

Objective:At the end of the course, parcipants would be able to:


(i) understand the whole process of PhD journey;
(ii) be prepared mentally and physically in lieu of their PhD journey;

IE112 Thesis Writing Retreat


Description:This course o er intensive writing programme for nal-year doctoral researchers. It supports
participants towards completion by providing them with the tools, time, space, motivation, and
con dence to make signi cant progress on their thesis draft, and maintain momentum post-event.

Objective:The course design ensures participants acknowledge and address the practical,

intellectual, social and emotional issues that impact on the nal stages of their doctoral journey.

Approach:Interactive lecture and group discussion.

IE114 Microsoft Word Thesis Writing


Using Ms Word
Description:
This course assist the participant to use Ms Word.dotx for their thesis. The participant will be able to
publish their examination paper/thesis/disertation/report in one single document in pdf.

Objective:
(i) To use techniques in MS Word that save time (and money).
(ii) To ensure the quality of the presentation of a thesis/dissertation by standardizing its format and

IE115 Microsoft Excel Beginners


Description:
This course introduce the participants about basic function in managing data in Microsoft Excel, simple
analysis relate to our job, create your own template and construct simple graph.

At the end of the course, participant should be able to use and understand basic function in Microsoft
Excel.

Exercise based on individual project.

Description:
The course guides academic administrator in meeting the needs and requirements of academic program
regulators.

IE303 Effective Postgraduate Supervision


Description:
This program provides the initial preparation for postgraduate supervisor and to enhance their
supervisory skills with respect to higher education. The two-day program comprises interactive lectures
and individual/group activities to guide supervisors in improving their supervisory competency.

Objectives:
The interactive program is designed to equip academic sta with the necessary knowledge and skills for
supervising research students, and for assuring the quality of research training experiences.

IE304 High Impact Publication


Description:
This course will assist participants for publishing in high impact factor research journals and indexed

conferences. The participants will learn di erent techniques and tips to publish in ISI and high impact
research journal. The course also aimed to motivate participants for quality research contributions.

Approach:
The course is designed to assist participants to gain a clear understanding of the academic writing
process and develop essential skills and strategies for writing academic such as a thesis. In addition, it
also provides a platform for sharing research and writing experiences and receives feedback during
their academic writing process.

IE307 Rasch Model


Description
Rasch Model is a probabilistic measurement model which provides interval estimates for ordinal type
responses such as students assessments and questionnaire responses, allowing researchers to compare
the ability of the student, against the di culty of the assessment items.

At the same time, Rasch model provides data quality checking on the responses and items. This is very
useful to ascertain tness of the data to the Rasch model and to identify problems with respondents or
items, before further anayses could be carried-out. Rasch Model has been utilised in many areas,
including researches in education, social science, psycometrics and even computer science.

Objective
(i) To introduce the Rasch Measurement Model
(ii) To allow participants to use Rasch Analysis as an alternative to other analysis methods.
