The Chinese Revolution started as a nationalist democratic revolt that
overthrew the Manchu dynasty. It started in 1911 and ended in 1912.
The revolution was caused due to an argument with a four power group of foreign bankers that did not agree while constructing a rail way in China. This is important because it impacted the community of China. On April 15 , 1912 the Titanic started sinking into the North Atlantic Ocean on its way to New York City. The Titanic was carrying about 2200 passengers. Almost 1500 people lost their lives. Some went down with the sinking ship others froze to death. This event is important because it had a huge impact on the shipping industry and the safety of people on board. On December 23, 1913 president Woodrow Wilson signs the Owen-Glass Act creating the Federal Reserve system. This began the establishing of banking policies , and availability of credit. This event is important because it had a long term event on people who use credit cards often. World War 1 started on June 28, 1914. Tensions were growing in Europe for years .The trigger for the war was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand heir to the Austro Hungarian Empire and his wife Sophie. They were shot to death by Gavrilo Pricip of Bosnia in Sarajevo. This event is important because it had an impact on many countries as many people lost their lives due to this war. On Jan 12 , 1915 congress votes against women suffrage amendment. The United states eventually did amend women the right to vote. In New York City over 25,000 women marched. Women continued to fight for equal rights. This event is important because it had a huge impact on womens rights. Mark 1 was the first tank used during World War 1 by the British to fight against Germany in the battle of Flers Courcelette in France on September 15, 1916. This was important because it had a long-term affect and impacted the community of tank development because to this day people are still constructing better models of a tank and the Mark 1 was the invention that lead to improved versions of it. On April 6 1917 the United States of American joins its allies Britain, France , and Russia in World War 1. President Woodrow Wilson was very upset at Germany. Germany was sinking American vessels that carried merchandise and American people. He was also notified by the British intelligence that Germany secretly offered Mexico some off their lost territories during the Mexican American War if they allied with Germany. This was important because it had a major impact on many countries as empires were destroyed and many people were killed it also affected the outcome of the war. In 1918 there was a virus called the Influenza Epidemic which killed about 50 million people. Twenty percent of the worlds population was infected with the virus. It was recorded as the deadliest illness in history. This was an important event because it killed many civilians and it was urgent for doctors to find a cure for it. One of the greatest moments in history was the treaty to end World War 1. The treaty was called The Treaty of Versailles. It was signed on June 28, 1919 in France by the United States, Britain, Italy, France, and Germany. This event was important because it stopped the killing of many soldiers. It also had an impact on Germany as they became in debt because they had to pay for the destruction of land as well as give some land away. In the mid 1920s the Ku Klux Klan had reached 4 million members mainly in the southern United States. These members were white middle class men. They saw themselves as vigilantes and restoring justice. They terrorize and killed Jewish, Catholics, liberals and African American. They killed mainly African American. They wanted to prevent them from wealth, social status and political power. This was important because many people of different races were killed due to the KKK. On the evening of November 2, 1921 the first radio baseball broadcast went on air in Pittsburg Pennsylvania. The person who was broadcasting was Harold Arlin. This was an important event because it affected the baseball fans all over the United States as fans can be entertained at their homes with listening to whats going on in the game.
