Augustus F. Harkins gives a
campaign speech on the
Governor Brown Train.
Augustus F. Harkins was a
Democrat in the U.S congress.
He also served as a Chairman
of the Committee.
1967
In 1967 there was Vietnam war
protesters gather outside
Parker Center, Los Angeles
California. The protesters
wanted the U.S to get out of
the Vietnam War.
1968
During the Vietnam War many
Vietnamese civilians had to
evacuate from there homes.
About 10,000 Vietnamese
villages had to evacuate from
there villages.
1969
U.S troop during the Vietnam
war. Most soldiers were forced
to go fought at the Vietnam
War because of the military
draft occurring during that
time. Which made it really
unfair for many man.

become communism. Also

Apollo 14 was the eighth
manned mission in the United
States Apollo program. The
Apollo 14 was also the third to
land on the moon. It was also
a targeted landings with two
day stays on the Moon with
two lunar EVAs, or moonwalks.

Richard Nixon visits China to
normalizing relations between
the United States and China.
The visit allowed the American
public to view images of China
for the first time in over two
decades. He also was the first
president that visit the PRC
(Peoples Republic of China)
1973

Richard Nixon ended American


involvement in the war in
Vietnam. Richard Nixon ended
the military draft. He also
brought the American POWS
(prisoner of war) home.
1974

Gerald Ford was sworn in as


the 38th president of the
United States following
Richard Nixon's decision to
quit. He was the first
president to be sworn into
office without a single vote.
1975

Guatemala earthquake struck
with a magnitude of 7.5. About
76,000 people were injured,
,many thousands left homeless
and 23,000 deaths. This also
left people without electricity
and no communication for
days.
