These ideas have been the most important words ever spoken in the history of the world not for the
idea you think this is simply the most famous retelling of what is known as natural law. Natural law has
been around longer than people have. Before the invention of language they have known that people
have the right to live, the right to be alive and the right to defend yourself, the right to liberty, the right
to do what you want along as it doesnt affect other peoples right to do what they want, and the
pursuit of happiness, the right to strive towards a happen life and not a grantee to happiness,. For those
who believe in god these rights are easy to understand and the idea of laws that supersede man for
those it who dont believe in god it may be science, evolution, history or justice but there are certain
rights that are not created by man bestowed by a king but naturally belong to him. These rights were
unchecked until man started to create bands and tribes which began to exacerbate mans flaws and give
power to people who which to control others these where the first time mans natural rights where
taken away under the guise of the good of the group. Of these tribes the leaders grew in power and
grew in the boldness of there elitism to the point where many said that god had bestowed them with
the power to control others. This idea would last for thousands of years and the idea of natural law
would go dormant but not lost not until the enlightenment when men like Thomas Hobbs, john Locke,
and to a lesser extent jean-Jacques Rousseau would reignite the idea of a natural right of men. But it
wouldnt be until the revolution in the colonies of America that this idea of natural law would fully
bloom in 1776 the second greatest document ever written down besides the Holy bible wound is written
the declaration of independence (which is where the quote from the top is exerted from). This
document was an appeal to the world of the importance of natural law and the rights of men to be free.
To my knowledge the United States are the only known country based on natural law I do not believe
this is a coincident that America has become the strongest and best nation in the world. I feel like the
world has gone back on the idea of natural law instead of embracing it. The kings have been replaced by
prime ministers and the nobility has been replaced by the government aids and secretaries and the fox
hunts have been replaced by fact finding missions. The government gets it rights from the people it
governs and we have forgotten that I believe we need to stand up and get back our natural rights as
defined by the U.S. decoration of independence not just in the U.S. but the whole world together under
the rights of all men.
