K to 12: A Big Help

Adapting and imitating the public school system of different countries which is the
K to 12 can be very beneficial to the students. Though the time span that the students
need to go to school will be lengthen, it would be of so much help on the part of the
students.
One of the benefits of K to 12 program is that students will be honed in terms of
knowledge and skills. Also students can get more advance learning because the subject
matter on the junior year and senior year are somehow similar to the subjects that they
will be taken up when they go to college. Thus, students can have an overview about the
lessons that they are going to meet in tertiary level.
Another thing that students can get from implementing K to 12 is that after they
have finished 12 years of basic education, they decide whether to pursue college or not.
Even though they choose not to go to college, they can get a job because they will be
given certificate which certifies and proves that they are capable of doing a certain job.

Camarines Norte College Progresses

In the year 1946, the founders of the school, Camarines Norte Institute, have
realized that the town is in need of a school so they have decided to build a school. The
school first started as a high school institution probably because the administrator of the
school saw the needs of the students to have a school in the community.
As days passed by, improvements of Camarines Norte Institute are very visible.
Student enrollees have increased. More and more students have enrolled in Camarines
Norte Institute because they are considering their allowance and the distance of the
location of the school. Compared to some otherinstitutionss, CNI is more convenience to
students and parents perspective. Gradually, CNI community became larger and started
to improve.
 Moreover, Camarines Norte Institute didnt talk only with convenience. Instead, the
founders of the school were very proud because the quality of education of their school
is good. The vision that they have envisioned before building the school are met and
accomplished by the students. Also, they can say that they have produced quality and
competitive graduates that can compete with life and the world independently.
However, at present, Camarines Norte Institute is now called Camarines Norte
College. The school have improved especially with the levels that the students can enroll.
CNC has now secondary level students and also college students. Over the year, even
though CNI have changed its name to CNC, still it will continue to hone and mold their
students to be a better person.

First Day in School

The first day of school of every student that is not familiar to the school that they
are entering is like being a student who used to have home schooling. It was like their
first time going on a specific place without knowing where to go and what to do. There is
always a confusion.
On our first day on a school that is not really familiar to us, we do not know what
to do. We are rushing in searching the room where we belong to, afraid that we might be
late in our first day. Sometimes we lose our way and we get lost track of our directions.
But, whats important is that we dont stop by being lost, instead we should always find
our way.
Then when we finally find our own room, we get bored because we have no one
to talk to since it is our first day in class. We would just sit and wait for the bell to ring so
that we can go home. But sometimes, when the teacher is trying to get our attention for
the first day, even though the bell rings, we cannot go home.
By the end of the first day, we will realize how boring going to school is. We will
argue that it is not really necessary to go to school because they have the same routine.
However, at the end of the year, we will realize that we are one of the students who will
graduate and receive diploma. Maybe, we must have changed our minds and we didnt
win the argument.
 Induction ball: necessary or not?

One of the most awaited events of every college student of CNC is the Mass
Induction Ball. It is an annual ceremony that is done to introduce the newly elected officers
of the college students. But, is it really necessary or is it just a waste of time?
As students, we believe that having this kind of activity is really essential. This is
done for the purpose of introducing to the whole college the newly elected officers of the
school. Induction ball ceremony is the night when the whole body organization takes
solemnly the oath of being loyal to their position and being trustworthy officers in front of
all CNC students. Through this event, student will be familiarized with the different officers
as well as they will know the people whom they can approach regarding the school
matters.
Aside from introducing the school officials and making their speeches about their
plans for the enhancement and improvement of the school, it is also the night when the
students leave their stresses behind and have fun for a while. All students of CNC are
required to attend the ball and wear their best semi-formal attires. They prepare foods
and drinks so that they wont be hungry as the night goes on. It is also the time when the
students can hit the dancefloor as if they didnt have numerous school works given by
their school.
Therefore, we can say that Induction Ball Ceremony is not a waste of time. It
enables the identity of the school officials to be known to the public as well as it serves
as leisure time for the stressed and problematic students.
 College Governor and Leadership

It is very common nowadays and even in ancient times to have someone whom
they call ruler. It is the person who is trusted upon by the people of the community. He/she
is the one who will regulate and manage the people of his community as well as the issue
regarding his place.
In college, we also have that person that I am talking about. They are called
governor. Every course in college have elected their own governor to whom they entrust
the orderliness and organization of the whole department. They are the person who will
stand before their handled department to listen and get their opinions as well as their
suggestions. Also they are the person who will stand and be the departments
spokesperson whenever the whole department have proposals or problems regarding
some school matters.
Similar to our rulers in ancient period, the school government nowadays have the
same mission and advocacy but only with different time and setting. They are both aiming
on one goal and that is to work hard for the betterment of their people and community
under their administration. Truly, college governors are not just for display and popularity,
rather they really are a big factor which help for the sake of a certain department.

Students Attitude

Nowadays, students behavior is very difficult to handle. Some of the students,

boys or girls, do not show respect to their teachers. When a student passes through a
teacher in the corridor, the teacher will not hear anything from the student. Therefore,
teachers must have a proper strategy on how to deal with the behavior of the students.
As a student, I know that our teachers can be very beneficial and a big help for us.
They are the ones who will mold us intellectually, emotionally and mentally. But as I
observe, students attitude depends upon the attitude that their teachers are exhibiting.
For instance, when the teacher doesnt showcase care and consideration to his students,
the tendency is that students commit absences or worse, students and teacher will never
produce harmonious relationship inside the classroom. On the other hand, if a teacher
shows his love for his students and let them feel that he cares for them, students will be
motivated to learn.
Thus, I can say that students attitude depends upon the teachers behavior
towards them. Truly, a teacher must not only know the contents that he is going to teach,
instead a teacher must be flexible enough to handle the attitudes of his students. He
should have his ways to build a good teacher-student relationship and not a relationship
where there is a misunderstanding between them.

Marawi City

Marawi City becomes one of the city that is very familiar due to some issues that
it is facing nowadays. According to the news that are spreading in our country, it is said
that the city is totally devastated because of the massive attacks, bombings and firings
that is happening to that place. The former peaceful place has gone in an instant.
Looking back to the peaceful place of Marawi, it is known as the largest city in the
province of Lanao del sur. It is located in Mindanao and is an Islamic State. The citys
topographic location is quite high thats why it has a cool climate.
Similar to other towns that have their spots of attraction, Marawi has also its own.
Located here is the big golf course that is very familiar to all golfers. Also, the second
biggest university in the Philippines which is the Mindanao State University where most
students topped from different examinations came from.
 Chaos in the Philippines

We are all aware that our country is facing different issues like war, terrorism,
killings, etc. since time immemorial. Rampant news about those issues are always
spreading. Many people tried to solve it, but to no avail, it didnt work. People asked the
President of the Philippines if he has solutions for those issues and when will the chaos
will stop. But is it really the president who will solve and gives solution to the difficult
problems that the country is facing or we, as a citizen are the ones who can stop it?
Many generations have passed and many presidents have ended their year of
presidency, yet sad to say none of them have stopped the violence that is a wide spread
phenomenon in our country. We cannot deny the fact that several presidents have tried
to cease the chaotic happening in our country. They have used peace talks, cease fires
for how many days and even martial law. However, these techniques do not stop all the
violence. And nowadays, chaos made by the people itself are on their way of ruining the
peoples lives.
Many people blamed the government because they thought that the government
were not doing any actions to prevent it. Yet people of the nation didnt notice that they
too have added as the cause of the chaos and they didnt realize that they are the ones
who can stop it all. The problem is that, people didnt know how to discipline themselves
and cooperate with each other. They didnt have unity, they didnt act as one and didnt
have one common goal.
 Teaching: My future career

When I graduated in high school, my high school classmates knew already what
course they are going to get. Everyone wanted to get a suitable and lifelong job. Others
wanted that their job would give them high salary while others wanted a course that will
satisfy their habits. But I, didnt really know what course to choose in college. Then out of
nowhere, I came up with the thinking that I will be a teacher and I told myself that it is my
only choice. Later I realized, there is nothing wrong with being a teacher instead it brought
a big help to a persons life.
Firstly, teaching is a stable job. As a teacher, I will get a monthly salary. Also, I
could teach no matter how many years I wanted to because teaching is a lifelong job.
Secondly, teaching is a job that is respected by everybody. As a teacher, I will be
respected by my students inside and outside the classroom. I will also be greeted by my
previous students whom I will meet at the roads or some places.
And most importantly, even though that I didnt like teaching at first, I realized that
I like to teach youngsters when I got to enter this course. This course helped me to
understand the importance of education. By knowing that, I am motivated to teach the
students and be their guide as they improve and mold themselves to be ready to conquer
life by themselves. All in all, I knew teaching would be enjoyable and really worth the risk.
I hope I can be a better teacher someday.
