THE BIG BEN

Big Ben, contrary to what many people think, is not the

famous British Parliament clock, nor its tower. It is the
name of the bell, which weighs 13 tons and was installed
in the Palace of Westminster in 1859. The Palace of
Westminster was destroyed by the fire of 1834 and in
the new constructions decided to build a clock tower.
Every day, the BBC radio broadcasts the bells. The bell
measures almost 3 meters in diameter and weighed 13.5
tons. It is the ex-libris of London for its details and has
given the buzz in the new year, because it is the most
accurate watch in the world.
The Tower Bridge

The Tower Bridge is a bridge of the River Thames inaugurated on

June 30, 1894 and is a popular tourist spot in London and one of
the most famous bridges in the world. Located next to the Tower
of London, it has been the scene of several films such as "Sherlock
Holmes" and "007" being in 2002 chosen by the BBC as one of the
best buildings in the UK and took 8 years to be built by 432
workers. It is 244 m long and 42 m high. Taking photos is one of
the favorite tourist activities but you can also visit it from the
inside where you can find an exhibition where visitors can learn
about history through photos, movies and other types of media.
