ELL Objectives: After the lesson, students will be able to identify clothing physically.

Materials/Props Needed: (What pictures AND realia items do you need to teach each
word and command?)
Realia: T-shirt, pants, shoes,
Flashcards of words: T-shirt, Pants, and Shoe.
Pictures of commands: Touch, put on, look
Anticipatory Set: (What will you do to get them excited about the activity? Will you
sing or use a puppet or show pictures or show objects?)
I will show realia of clothes that I bought.
Direct Instruction/Modeling/Demonstration:
1) I will mention clothing in Zuni and point to the clothing that I am wearing.
2) I will bring out a T-shirt,
3) point to the picture of the command touch.
4) Make the gesture of touch by rubbing my fingers together. I will repeat 4 times.
5) I will bring out pants, say the word in Zuni 3 times.
6) Point to the command put on.
7) Make a gesture of put on. Will repeat 4 times.
8) I will bring out shoes, say the word 4 times.
9) Point to the command look while making the gesture.
10) I will alternate between each command by showing the gesture and have the
students do the gestures with me.
Checking for Understanding:
1) Students will point at their clothing after teacher mentions the vocabulary word.
2) Students will make the gesture when the command is mentioned.
Closure:
Students will point at the clothing after commands are said.
