1) Arrangement for Suction Strainer

1.1) Standard Solution

The suction strainer can connected direct to the pump suction nozzle, in case the pipe
dimension of the strainer and the suction nozzle are identical.

In case the pipe dimensions of the strainer and the suction nozzle are dissimilar, the
reducer can connected between suction nozzle and strainer.

1.2) Straight pipe length requirement upstream the suction strainer

1.3) Straight pipe length requirement in the suction line

For a combination of elbows in the suction line with more than 2 elbows in the line
within a short distance, an approval is required by the pump department/ pump
supplier.

2. Reducer in the suction line

A reducer in the suction line is only allowed at the start point of the line or at the pump
suction nozzle. A reducer within the routing of the pipe is not allowed.

3. General remark

These requirements are mandatory for all types of strainers.
