About

AILSF is a registered Organization popularizing competition and assisting development of

competitive spirit among school and college Students.

AILSF was established by leading academicians, Lawyers, with the aim of promoting law as a
professional courses. Science Olympiad Foundation has been striving for over two decades to
promote legal awareness and temperament through innovative activities and use of IT in learning
process that involve school and college students across the country.

In the present times when the world is totally pivoted on science and IT, it is pertinent to think and
plan about the future - a future in which the children of the present shall be the leaders of
tomorrow. Regular qualitative and quantitative assessment needs to be done at the
national/International level in order to build up the scientific and IT talent pool. It is in this sphere
that the role of AILSF has been much appreciated over these last few years, so much so that The
Ministry of Corporate Affairs, through The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, and many
highly reputed organizations like The British Council, Star Sports etc have volunteered to partner and
support SOF's various programmes.

AILSF's integrity and commitment towards the fulfilment of its objectives have been lauded by
thousands of schooling institutions and millions of students who have directly benefited from its
educative, informative and evaluative programmes. For the future, AILSF has several more
innovative programmes lined up, which promise to bring about a sea change in the approach to
education and preparation for competitive programs.

AILSF Mission

The key to having a large, exclusive scientific and IT talent pool for the future is seeking out,

they can prove themselves.

level.

Encourage students' participation in national/international competitions/ programmes/events

3
Instill a feeling of belonging to national and global students fraternity.

Infuse a healthy competitive spirit through reward based Olympiads/competitive exams.

Bring about a transformation in the classroom approach to science, IT and other subjects to
make it more interactive, practical and innovative.

Disseminate knowledge and information on the latest developments in science and

technology.

Project SOF as a Centre of Excellence that could cater to different schooling institutions in
the areas of methodical research, new educational tools, special publications and expert
advice.

Activities:

All activities of the Foundation invariably aim at making learning an interesting and interactive
process in which the learner is actually able to put his / her skills, memory, talent and knowledge to
test.

For this the Foundation conducts workshops, seminars and science/IT competitions for students of
different classes and age groups.

AILSF conducts the following Competition:

1. National Legal Olympiad (For Law College & Schools)

2. Regional Legal Olympiad
3. National Legal Talent Search
4. International Legal Olympiad
The SOF strongly believes that such Olympiads, apart from bringing out the best in the
participants, also help them gain confidence for competing with the best around them and in
the country and internationally and contribute to personality development. Also recognition
of merit at an early age is bound to infuse a certain sense of achievement that encourages
them to do even better as they advance in age.

The students are exposed to a variety of complex problems which demand a high level of
analytical ability and proficiency in the use of various concepts from a cross-section of
subjects, thereby invoking ingenuity in dealing with them. Since admissions to various
professional institutions like IITs and Medical colleges are given on the basis of performance
in competitive exams, such Olympiads also pave the way for a true understanding of the
concepts that is so essential for doing well in these highly competitive exams.

Apart from the Olympiad activities, the SOF also conducts seminars, workshops, and teacher
training programmes in various cities of the country. Implementing one of its aims to conduct
seminars state-level, the first such seminar cum workshop for science teachers was conducted
at St. Columba's School, New Delhi. The theme was: Innovation in Science Teaching. 160
science teachers from 46 schools in Delhi took part in the workshop, and 13 resource persons
of eminence and erudition were drawn from IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur and Delhi University who
freely and generously shared their teaching skill, expertise and knowledge with the
participants. For most of the teachers it was a stimulating, refreshing and learning experience
and an eye-opener.

Hence conducting workshops, interactive seminars and teachers' training programmes are at
present an essential part of the SOFs table of activities. This way the Foundation aims at
bringing about a steady and speedy change in the very way education is currently imparted in
the country.
