Praxis Core Exam Analysis

It is a requirement to pass the Praxis Core Exam before transferring to

UNLV, NSC, or UNR. Upon not completing and passing the Praxis Core Exam, one will

not be able to enroll in further courses at the University level of his or her choice. The

passing scores for the Praxis Core in Nevada are as follows: Math 150, Reading 156, and

Writing 162.

I have not yet looked into the Praxis Core Exam at all, I had only heard about it

and that it is required in order to become a teacher. In preparation for the practice Praxis

Core exams, I looked over all the information given. Besides that I have yet to properly

prepare myself for the exams. I am currently taking a math course that appears to be

assisting me in math itself, since I struggle with it as a whole. I do believe that though my

scores were low on the practice, that with more studying and upon the completion of the

course, that I will be proficient in passing all sections.

My exam results werent in my favor and it was extremely eye opening. In Math,

I scored in the lower range, which means that Im very unlikely to pass the Math section

when I take the official Praxis Core Exam. In reading and writing, I received low scores

as well, meaning I will be likely to pass. I am extremely dissatisfied with these results

given. However, I am not surprised being that I havent practiced. These results proved

my ill manner of preparation. I am relieved that these test were practice and showed my

areas of weakness. I now know what to work on, more specifically, by the results given.
I did not pass the practice exams and have not yet taken the official Praxis Core

exam. In order to properly prepare myself and set myself up to pass the exam, I plan to

reach out to every outlet and source available to me. Purchase some textbooks and utilize

available resources online as practice. I also plan to ask for assistance from a tutor to

guide me and refresh my memory in math, being that this subject is where I struggle most

in.
