Title : The Saga of Sabil War (Study on Implementation the Communication
Ethics of Islam in the Saga of Sabil War at the People of Aceh in Aceh
Province

This research aims to know how the communication ethics of Islam in the saga of
Sabil war at Aceh Province. From the main problem is formulated three sub questions :
How elements of the communication ethics of Islam in the saga of Sabil war, How the
saga of Sabil war can be an effective medium of communicative Islam among the people
of Aceh, How to implement the communication ethics of Islam in the saga of Sabil war
at Aceh Province.
Theoretical framework used in this study is a phenomenological Hermeneutical
theory, social learning theory, symbolic interaction theory and theory of Islamic ethics be
used to assist the direction and the research process.
This research is a qualitative research through library research and field research
by approach of Islamic communication. Data obtained by in-depth interviews, participant
observation and documentation study. The data were analyzed descriptively qualitative
analysis and interpretative.
The results showed that : the first, the saga of Sabil war is a literary work that
successfully motivating and persuading people of Aceh for jihad fisabiillllah to face
colonialism. As war ideology, the saga of Sabil war contains the values of religion,
education, transcendental communication, culture, aesthetics and ethics. The strength of
faith or monotheism is the foundation in actualizing ethics mujahid. Therefore the
elements of communication ethics of Islam which is reflected in the saga of Sabil war is a
manifestation from the Quran and Hadith, among : read bismillah, start greeting, truth,
mau'izah hasanah, duty, sacrifice, tawadhu', courage, criticism, fanaticism and revenge,
as well as prayer and remembrance. The second, during the colonial era the saga of Sabil
war was claimed as communication media of Islam that effective in influencing people.
Historically can be identified some of the arguments so that the saga will be effective,
among the saga comes from the Quran and Hadith, the saga was written by Arab-Malay
writing, delivered by prominent figures, the saga as a spiritual enlightenment, the saga is
delivered with a variation of rhythm in a melodious voice and the saga as a realistic story.
Whereas this time the saga of Sabil war used only as traditional media.The third, among
the elements of communication ethics of Islam in the saga of Sabil war is still
implemented on the people of Aceh currently on three areas: education, art, literature and
Jurisprudence. In the field of education, ethical values in practice are greetings,
deliberation, self-sacrificing, enjoining good and forbidding wrong (amar makruf nahi
munkar), apologize, honesty, patience and sincerity. In art literature, ethical values
evolving namely; greetings, separating men and women, close aurat (the genitals), held
after the evening prayer time, glorify guests and advice. Whereas in the field of
jurisprudence has affected the implementation of communication ethics of Islam, because
it is supported by the application of Islamic law in Aceh since 2000. As for the ethical
values in the field of jurisprudence, namely liability and peace, enjoining good and
forbidding wrong, prayer and remembrance, firmly against paganism and mandate.
Ethical values has been done by the people of Aceh today, both horizontal and vertical
communication.
