Dear Gangadhara Raju Gumma:

I am pleased to offer to you a place in the Master of Engineering Leadership in Clean Energy Engineering beginning
in January 2018. Please read the information on this document carefully.

Term Dates & Holidays

Term dates, which include exam periods, are as follows:
Winter Term: January 2, 2018 April 6, 2018
Reading Week (No classes): February 19, 2018 - February 23, 2018

Expectations as a Professional Student

The Master of Engineering Leadership is a professional program and we expect high standards from all our
students. Below are points from the Professional Programs Policies that are of particular interest:

Students are seen as professionals and representatives for the APSC Professional Programs. They are
expected to uphold the highest standard of professional behaviour, at all times and demonstrate a high
standard of communication courtesy, respect and integrity for their colleges, fellow student, faculty,
staff and other individuals when representing the APSC Professional Programs.
All students are expected to know, understand, and follow the codes of conduct regarding academic
integrity. At the most basic level, this means submitting only original work done by you and
acknowledging all sources of information or ideas and attributing them to others as required. This also
means you should not cheat, copy, or mislead others about what is your work. Any academic
misconduct will be investigated. Please familiarise yourself with UBCs Academic Honesty and Standards
Policy.
Due to the intensive nature of the program, students are expected to attend all of their classes. In the
business/leadership classes (APPP) which are 6 weeks or less in duration, only 2 excused absences are
permissible. Missing more than 2 classes will result in an automatic fail in the course.

The minimum passing grade in any course taken by a student enrolled is 60%. However, only 6 credits of
courses with grades in the C to C+ range (60-67%) may be counted towards a master's program. For all
other courses, a minimum of 68% must be obtained.

The MEL program is a one-year intensive Master Degree with other professionals. Therefore a leave of
absence for professional or other academic studies is not considered an exceptional circumstance and
requests for a Professional Leave of Absence during your year of study will not be granted.
