OPERATING ACTIVITIES AFTER BOILER-VIII SHUTDOWN

i. After boiler-viii shutdown, firstly check the valves of fuel oil system, natural
gas system, combustion air system and atomizing steam system, and ensure
that the valves are in the correct state (on or off).

ii. If put the oil guns into operating, open XV-755 and/or XV-765 to purge the
oil guns.

iii. Purge the furnace. After the completion of the purging, stop the forced draft
fan (570-K-01), and close the inlet dampers of the fan.

iv. Fill water into steam drum to increase the water level of steam drum to high
level, and then stop boiler feed water pump (570-P-01A/B)

v. Isolate the deaerator from the water and steam system, and ensure all manual
valves are in close.

vi. Close the battery limited valves of fuel oil and natural gas, if need, exchange
the blind on natural gas piping.

vii. Purge the fuel oil piping through the steam, after purging, close related
valves.

viii. Purge the natural gas piping through nitrogen, after purging close related
valves.

ix. Recheck the valves of fuel oil system, natural gas system, combustion air
system and atomizing steam system, and ensure that the valves are in the
correct state (on or off).

x. Check water and steam system, soot blower system, chemical dosing system
and blow-down system and so on, and ensure that the valves are in the
correct state (on or off).

xi. After 6h of the boiler-viii shut down, open the inlet dampers of forced draft
 fan to cool down the boiler naturally.

xii. When the wall temperature (TI-260, TI-261, TI-262 and TI-263) reduce to
150 or below, open all drain valves to drain the water inside boiler-viii.

xiii. If need, drain the water from the deaerator, boiler feed water pumps, forced
draft fan, continuous blow-down flash tank, periodic blown-down flash tank,
blow-down water exchanger, chemical dosing system, steam turbines and
piping and so on on.

In addition to the above activities, during boiler-viii shut-down, the following

routine activities must be performed:

i. Routinely check and clean all equipment, instruments, piping and floor and
so on.

ii. Routinely check the quality of lube oil, if need, replace the lube oil.

iii. Open the drain valve of the stack (570-SK-01).

iv. if stop boiler for long time, please protect the boiler-viii in accordance with
the vendors requirements.
