REFLECTIONS
1. What did I learn?
Each region of the Philippines is rich in culture, traditions and most particularly in indigenous
literature. Northern Mindanao and CARAGA are diverse in their literary pieces. Commonly, they are
opulent in legends, epics, chants and vocal music mainly about their norms, beliefs and customs. Their
stories were greatly about their beliefs on spirits of the nature, the origin of their tribes and habitation.
There are also many authors lived in the said regions whose stories were still unforgotten and
treasured.
2. How did I learn the lesson?

I learned the lesson by researching about the literature in Northern Mindanao and CARAGA. Through
internet and books, I was able to gain information and knowledge on the famous works of our assigned
region. It was also a great advantage reading the famous literary pieces of the regions because I was
able to learn more and understand the literary styles, concepts and impressions of the regions collected
works.

3. What were the easy tasks I encountered?


One of the easy tasks that I come across was finding my references on my assigned topic. I was also able
to understand easily and effectively the concepts and information gathered for I had prior knowledge
about the pre-colonial culture and traditions of our country. Regions across the Philippine archipelago
have similarities on their literary styles and genres. Thus, it was easy for me to connect concepts and
understand each models and conceptions about the literature of the countrys regions.

4. What were the difficult tasks I encountered?


The difficult task that I faced in dealing with my topic, was finding the full stories or description of
each famous literary pieces of Northern Mindanao and CARAGA. Some works were not apparent not
only in the internet but also in books. I had to extend my time and was busy looking for references. But
gladly, some had summaries and depictions.
