Conversation A
Receptionist: Hello, this is Dr. Chens office. How may I help you?

Chris: Greet the receptionist and give a reason for calling. Tell the receptionist
how much pain you have.

Receptionist: Okay. When are you available for an appointment?

Chris: Tell the receptionist when you are able to see the doctor for an
appointment.

Receptionist: Does next Friday at 2:00 work for you?

Chris: Respond yes or no. If you say no, suggest another time.

Receptionist: Okay, well see you then. Goodbye.

Conversation B
Dr. Garcia: Hello Juan. How are you feeling today?

Juan: Tell the doctor what your symptoms are.

Dr. Garcia: Okay. How often do you exercise?

Juan: Respond how often you exercise.

Dr. Garcia: Good. Did you get your flu vaccine this year?

Juan: Tell the doctor if you got your flu shot.

Dr. Garcia: Okay. I will run some tests and prescribe you some medicine.

Juan: Ask how often you need to take the medicine. Ask if you should do anything
else to feel better.
Dr. Garcia: Take this medicine twice a day with a meal. You should also get plenty of
rest and drink water.
