Workshop Abstracts
Day 1:
G1- Principal as a facilitator in implementing new pedagogies in schools (Ms. Sampo Lokki)

The workshop is targeted for school leaders. The purpose is giving school leaders ideas and
tools to develop their schools. The workshop concentrates on school vision, leadership, professional
development, and pedagogical change in teaching and learning and resourcing the change in schools.
The goal is to understand the need for holistic cultural change in schools that enables the
development.

G2 - Effective and individual learning path (Mr. Juha Ollila)

Effective and individual learning path so that every student can excel and thrive in a rapidly
evolving world- Individual education is the process of contouring learning to the students, recognizing
that all students have different strengths and weaknesses, different interests and different ways of
learning. Individual learning is finding the best ways to engage with students with different interests,
passions and ways of thinking by creating individualized education plans for every student and
conducting personalized assessment of students.

G3 Future working (transversal) skills (Dr. Annica Isacsson)

One fourth of the jobs will disappear according to a bank in recent news (01.10.2017). New
jobs will eventually emerge, but will require quite different competences. Transversal skills are skills
which have been learned in one context and are transferable or transferred to another
situation/problem/ context.

According to the World Economic Forum 65 % of those who start school today will work in
professions that do not yet exist today. The competence requirements of future working life will
change, radically. It is not only automation, globalization or machinelearning that change future work,
but the rules of work.

In the workshop we will work in groups around 21st century working life skills & competences
/ transversal skills. We will engage ourselves in discussing what implications transversal skills have on
education, learning and assessment. We will hear the latest research in the topic.

by movement and rhythm and a visual content. Come as you are and enjoy! Riikka & Mohamad

Day 2:
G1 Students Wellbeing (Ms. Minna Lumme, Ma of Science of Education, PhD candidate)

Student wellbeing can be defined by following way: Wellbeing is a positive emotional state
that is the result of a harmony between the sum of specific context factors on the other hand and the
personal needs and expectations towards the school on the other hand (Engels et al 2004).
Curriculum and schools as learning environment can affect positively to students learning, self-
fulfillment, social relationships, wellbeing and mental health (Barry and Jenkins 2007, Puolakka et al
2014). National legislation, curriculum and evaluation system establish the basis for development of
student wellbeing in learning environment. However, schools have an independent role as developing
communities and teachers awareness, knowledge and attitudes need to be developed.

In this workshop, we will have an introduction to students' wellbeing based on international

research. After that we will collaborate with audience by utilizing some simple service design
methods and tools. Participants can evaluate collaboratively learners', teachers' and school
communities' current situation, needs and strengths. After that they can prioritize most essential
objectives for improvement and ideal solutions.

G2 - Personalized learning in vocational schools (Mr. Mohamad Wannous)

The work shop will be divided in to three parts,

1st: Getting in the shoes of students starting in Stadin Vocational College

2nd: Learning about the reform, that vocational colleges are going through (Reforming the learning
paths in to a more personalized path for each individual)

3rd: Learning about Stadin Vocational College's system, and comparing it to a Lebanese vocational
school.

teaching technology. The workshop introduces different pedagogies in classroom for personalized
learning and individual learning paths. The attendees will participate in the workshop by planning an
implementation of teaching technology in their classrooms. It will also be explained how teaching
technology makes individual learning paths possible and learning more efficient with personalized
learning.

organizations management systems - Requirements with
guidance for use, a diverse rich educational background, work
experience, social responsibility knowledge, and social network,
in addition to a personality cherishing work, human relations,
and values, I do believe I can help in designing and implementing
change and improvement plans for institutions, groups, or even
individuals.

The use of Information and communication technology (ICT)

in education is my first interest. However, to get the full potential
of ICT in education, we need to have an advanced learner-centered education system and vision, and
a deep understanding of change management. I can assist you in all the mentioned areas.

I do not believe in a one-man show process, and I can help you in finding the potential in you and
inside your institution by empowering sharing experiences and enriching the self-learning and lifelong
learning development. I have a good network of trainers and experts to participate throughout the
progress journey and I welcome new specialists contributions whenever needed.

I conducted workshops and presented papers in different international conferences, and I helped
Lebanese innovative teachers to be winners in regional and international forums. I manage work
effectively face to face and virtually, and I cheerfully work under pressure.

With a mathematical, logical, engineering mind, and with a passion for learning, an appreciation
for literature, in addition to research-based knowledge, I can help you in studying the current status,
assess the needs, specify objectives, design the development plan, provide trainings, support the
implementation, participate in follow ups, evaluate results, and begin with the new stage of the spiral
life loop.

As a strong believer in Gods support & fairness, and the power of dreams & persistence, life for
me is a wonderful journey that we can design it ourselves.

Looking forward to welcoming you in the conference,
