Immigrant Visa Interview Instructions
K1 / K2 and K3 Non-Immigrant Visa Applicants

This office is ready to begin with your Non-Immigrant Visa petition. Please read carefully, and follow
the instructions shown below before you request an appointment with the Call Center. When you
request the appointment Immigrant Visa Interview
at http://www.ustraveldocs.com, Instructions
make sure you have: 1) Complete name of
the applicant; 2) Applicants passport Number; 3) Case number that starts with TGG; 4) Visa class
which is K1.

Note that no one can assure you in advance that the visa will be issued. The approved petition
does not mean that a visa will automatically be issued. An approved petition signifies that the
applicant has demonstrated a relationship with an American citizen that qualifies the applicant to
apply for an Immigrant visa. It is the purpose of the visa interview to determine whether the applicant
is eligible under U.S. law to receive the visa.

If your visa is approved, it will be sent to the Cargo Expreso Office that you previously selected on the
DS-160 form. Please allow six (6) business days to receive your visa after the visa is approved. In
rare cases, it may take slightly longer to receive your visa. Therefore, do not make plans to depart
Honduras or buy plane tickets before you receive your visa.

Checklist of Required Documents

Please see the following pages for further descriptions of the documents needed and suggestions on
how to obtain these necessary documents. You must bring these documents with you to the visa
interview, even if you have previously submitted them with your petition.

 Description of Required Documents
Note that original documents (whether Honduran or American) are required. If you wish to keep
the original, please bring the original along with a copy and the original will be returned to you during
the interview.

1. Passports:

Make sure that there are no errors in your passport check your name, date of
birth, etc. Please note that Honduran law requires that your passport have six
months validity remaining after your visa approval date. If you have less than 6
months validity left on your passport when your visa is issued, you will be required to get a new
passport and new medical exam before you can leave the country. Additionally, some of the panel
physicians require passports to have one-year validity. If you passport has less than one-year
validity, please check with the panel physician to see if they will require a new passport.

2. Photos:

Two photographs 2 x 2 size, white background. No eyeglasses.

3. Birth Certificate:

BIRTH CERTIFICATE CERTIFIED COPY OF YOUR RECORD FROM THE BOOK OF BIRTHS. We require a
certified copy of your record from the book of births for all applicants from the Registro Nacional
de las Personas (RNP). The certified copy of the book of births can be issued by the Registro
Nacional de las Personas located office where the birth was registered. We will only accept
certified copy of your records from the book of births. This document is required for ALL
beneficiaries.

4. Divorce Decrees

If the relationship between the petitioner and beneficiary is based on a fianc(e) relationship, and
either party has been divorced, you must bring all divorce decrees to the interview. For divorces in
the United States, bring a certified copy of the final judgment of divorce. For divorces in Honduras,
we only accept the Certified copy of your record from the book of divorces from the Registro Nacional
de las Personas (RNP). Please note that under Honduran law, divorces are final as of the date of the
inscription; a divorce sentence is not proof of a final divorce.

5. Form DS-160 (the application):

Bring in the confirmation page printed out. You can obtain the form at http://www.ustraveldocs.com

6. I-134 Affidavit of Support:

The Affidavit of Support from the petitioner must be signed within the last year. Applicants using
Form I-134 will need to show that their U.S. sponsor's income is 100 percent of the federal poverty
guideline. To find out how much this is, consult the I-864P. All forms are available at
http://www.uscis.gov/forms

The form I-134 should include a copy of the petitioners tax return (form 1040) from the last year.

7. Evidence of your relationship with the petitioner and between

family members:

You should be prepared to provide evidence, in addition to your birth

certificate, of your relationship with the petitioner.

Such evidence includes (Please see the attached sheet for other
examples of evidence of relationship):

Photos of the applicant and petitioner together

in the past.

If the applicants children are also applying,

include photos from the past of:

The applicant with his/her children at

different ages.

The petitioner and biological parent

together (in the case of step-relationship)

If you do not have sufficient proof of relationship, you can opt to have a DNA test. DNA testing is not
mandatory, but it can be useful in the case of biological relationships if you do not have sufficient
other proof of your relationship. See below instructions on the procedures.

8. Medical Exam: See instruction sheet below.

9. Fees: All beneficiaries must pay in cash $265 in U.S. dollars to any of the Atlantida, Ficohsa and
Occidente Bank branches in Honduras. There are no refunds of the visa application fee.

10. Police Certificate: The Constancia de Antecedentes Policiales document should be provided
by the Direccin Policial de Investigaciones in Tegucigalpa only, and not from the Juzgado or any
other city.

If applicable, provide the police certificate for:

The country of nationality,

The country of the applicants residence at the time of visa interview, and
Any other country in which the applicant has resided for one year or more.
Police certificates are not required for children under 16. If the beneficiary is between 16 and
17 years old, the presence of the parent will be required, with an identification card (original
 and copy), and the beneficiarys birth certificate proving that the parent is indeed the biological
parent.

Es importante que al momento de programar su cita se refiera a su 1) nombre completo, 2) nmero
de pasaporte 3) nmero de caso, y 4) categora de visa el cual es K1.

Nadie puede asegurarle con anticipacin que su visa ser otorgada. La peticin aprobada no
significa que su visa ser otorgada automticamente. Una peticin aprobada significa que el
beneficiario ha demostrado una relacin apropiada con el ciudadano americano y que esto califica al
beneficiario para solicitar una visa de Inmigrante. El propsito de la entrevista es verificar si el
beneficiario es elegible o no para recibir una visa de acuerdo a las leyes de los Estados Unidos.

Si su visa es aprobada, ser enviada a travs del Cargo Expreso que usted seleccion al momento
de llenar el formulario DS-160. Tomar seis das hbiles para recibir su visa una vez aprobada. Por
favor NO haga planes para viajar fuera de Honduras y no compre boletos de avin hasta que haya
recibido su visa.

Note que los documentos deben de ser en forma original (ya sean americanos u hondureos). Si
usted desea mantener los originales, presente una copia para regresrselos al momento de la
entrevista

1. Pasaporte: Asegurarse de que su pasaporte no tenga errores en su nombre, fecha de nacimiento,

etc. Honduras requiere que su pasaporte tenga una validez de seis meses para salir del pas. Si
usted tiene menos de seis usted requiere un nuevo pasaporte, y exmenes mdicos antes de que la
visa sea emitida. Algunos de los mdicos requieren que el pasaporte tenga una validez de un ao. Si
su pasaporte tiene menos de un ao chequee con ellos antes para ver si necesita obtener un nuevo
pasaporte.

2. Fotos: 2 fotos tamao 2 x 2 fondo blanco, vista frontal sin anteojos.

3. Partida de Nacimiento: Copia certificada del libro copiador de nacimientos llamada Folio del libro
de nacimiento. Esta copia es certificada por el registrador del Registro Nacional de las Personas
(RNP). El folio puede solicitarlo en el RNP adonde report el nacimiento. Solamente se aceptan las
copias certificadas del libro copiador de nacimiento.

Este documento es requerido para TODOS los beneficiarios.

4. Decretos de Divorcio: Si su relacin entre un peticionario y beneficiario es de prometido(a) y

cualquiera de ellos ha sido divorciado, usted debe de presentar todos los decretos de divorcios al
momento de la entrevista. Para divorcios en los Estados Unidos debe de presentar copia certificada
de la decisin final del divorcio. Para divorcios en Honduras, solamente se aceptan la copia
certificada del folio del libro de divorcios emitida por el Registro Nacional de las Personas. Favor
tomar nota que bajo las leyes de Honduras el divorcio es completado solamente cuando se inscriben
con el RNP; una sentencia de divorcio del Juzgado no es un divorcio legal finalizado.

Si usted desea mantener los originales, presente una copia para que sean devueltos al momento de
la entrevista

5. Formulario DS-160: Conteste todas las preguntas en los formularios y presente la hoja de
confirmacin solamente. Cada beneficiario debe de completar estas formas. Usted puede obtener la
forma en la pgina http://www.ustraveldocs.com

6. Carta de Sostenimiento (Formulario I-134): El formulario debe ser firmado por el peticionario (a).
Beneficiarios usando la forma I-134 necesitan demostrar que su ingreso es solamente del 100% en
la tabla de la lnea de pobreza. Para conocer los ingresos usted puede consultar la forma I-864P al
ingresar a la pgina http://www.uscis.gov/forms

Adems de la forma solamente debe de incluir copia del ltimo ao del impuesto del peticionario
(formulario 1040).

7. Prueba de relacin con el peticionario y entre los miembros de su familia: Usted deber de
prepararse para presentar prueba de relacin, adems de su partida de nacimiento y el certificado de
matrimonio. Ver abajo ms informacin sobre prueba de relacin:
 Fotos del beneficiario y peticionario juntos en el pasado

Si el peticionario es el padrastro/madrastra debe de incluir fotos entre:

o El beneficiario con el padre/madre biolgico(a) juntos
o Del padre/madre biolgico(a) con el peticionario

Y si estn aplicando los hijos del beneficiario principal entonces de todos los beneficiarios juntos con
fotos que incluya de diferentes edades.

Si no tiene suficiente prueba de relacin, usted puede realizase un examen de A D N. El examen de

A D N no es mandatorio, pero puede comprobar la relacin biolgica cuando usted no tiene
suficiente prueba de relacin. Ver abajo el instructivo de los procedimientos.

9. Costos: Usted deber de pagar la cantidad de $265.00 en cualquier sucursal de los bancos
Atlantida, Ficohsa u Occidente en Honduras al momento de llenar el formulario DS-160. Este pago
no es reembolsable.

10. Constancia de Antecedentes Policiales: La constancia de antecedentes policiales debe de ser

de la Direccin Policial de Investigaciones (DPI) en Tegucigalpa solamente, y no del Juzgado o de
cualquier otra ciudad.

Solo si aplica, presente un certificado de antecedentes:

Del pas de origen del beneficiario (en el caso que sea de otro pas)
Del pas a donde tenga fijada su residencia al momento de aplicar para la visa
De cualquier otro pas en donde el beneficiario haya vivido por un ao o ms de un ao.
No es requerido para menores de 16 aos. Si el beneficiario tiene entre 16 y 17 aos, se
requiere la presencia de uno de los padres biolgicos y deber de presentar copia de la
identidad, y partida de nacimiento que pruebe que son hijos biolgicos.

Favor tomar nota que los antecedentes policiales tienen una validez de seis meses y solo se aceptan
de Tegucigalpa y no de otras ciudades. Para hacer el trmite deber pagar L. 200 y presentar su
tarjeta de Identidad (original y copia).
 INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDICAL EXAMINATION
Each Immigrant Visa applicant, and Fianc (K) Visa applicant, including children of any age, must
undergo a medical examination. All applicants must present completed medical exams in a sealed
envelope at the time of their immigrant visa interview. Do not open this envelope under any
circumstance. We will not issue a visa without a medical exam.

Please note that all applicants between 2 and 14 years of age are now required to take a tuberculin
skin test (PPD test) at least four days prior to their Immigrant Visa appointment. The PPD test results
must be reviewed by a panel physician 48-72 hours after the skin tests administration, and in some
cases children may need follow-up chest X-rays. As a result, these applicants should plan to have
their medical exam in Tegucigalpa at least four days prior to their Immigrant Visa interview.

NOTE: All visa applicants undergoing a medical exam, 15 years of age or older, are required to be
tested for gonorrhea. Applicants must contact the physician at least four days in advance of their
prospective medical exam date. The physician will give you instructions on procedures you need to
follow for your medical exam.

You may select any one of the doctors listed below; they all charge the same prices. Please note that
each physician will have their own office hours and office procedures. For specific questions about
your medical exam, including what documents to bring, please contact the physician directly.

Each applicant must present to the examining physician:

1. Valid Passport (at least one year validity) and a copy. Please make sure that your name,
date of birth, sex, and expiration date shown on your passport are correct.
2. Five Photographs ID size (color photos on a white background)
3. Vaccination card. Please make sure it is current. U.S. law requires certain vaccinations
depending on the age and sex of the applicant. If you cannot provide a current, original,
and valid vaccination card to the physician, you will need to pay for all of the required
vaccinations.
4. Your case number that begins with TGG

5. On a White sheet of paper list the following information:

a. Current home address in Honduras

b. Address in the U.S. where you plan to reside

c. Contact email

d. If the patient is female and has had children: date of birth of all children

e. Date of previous surgeries

The medical examination is generally valid for 6 months, but for those with certain medical
conditions, the validity period is 3 months. You will have to repeat your medical examination if you
do not complete the visa process before your medical examination expires, or if you change your
passport after you have undergone your medical examination .

 INSTRUCCIONES DEL CHEQUEO MDICO
Cada persona que solicita una visa de Inmigrante y de No- Inmigrante, incluyendo menores de edad,
debern someterse a un examen mdico completo. Los solicitantes que se presentan para la
entrevista sin sus exmenes mdicos adentro de un sobre cerrado tendrn que programar
una nueva cita. Bajo ninguna circunstancia deber abrir este sobre! No se emitir una visa
sin este documento.

Por favor tomen en cuenta que todos los solicitantes entre los 12 y 14 aos requieren realizar una
prueba cutnea de Tuberculina (PPD). Los resultados de la prueba tienen que ser examinados por
un mdico aprobado por la Embajada dentro de 48-72 horas despus del examen, y en ciertos casos
los nios necesitan tomar una radiografa de Trax. Para este procedimiento estos solicitantes
debern realizar sus exmenes mdicos en Tegucigalpa por lo menos 4 das antes de sus
entrevistas.

NOTA: Todo los solicitantes de visa de 15 aos de edad y mayores de 15 aos, deben hacerse
una prueba de gonorrea. Favor contacte a uno de los mdicos abajo detallados por lo menos
cuatro das antes de su cita mdica deseada. El mdico le dar instrucciones en cuanto al
procedimiento a seguir para efectuar su examen mdico.

Usted puede seleccionar cualquiera de los doctores abajo mencionados, todos tienen los mismos
precios. Cada doctor tiene su proceso y horario de oficina diferente. Para especificaciones
acerca del examen, incluyendo que documentos traer a la cita mdica, contctese con ellos
directamente.

Cada solicitante deber presentar lo siguiente al momento de ser examinado:

1. Pasaporte Vlido (por lo menos un ao de vigencia): Asegrese de corregir el nombre,

fecha de nacimiento, sexo, y vigencia del pasaporte antes de someterse a los
exmenes.

2. Fotografa: Cinco fotografas a color tamao carn (fondo blanco)

3. Carn de vacunas: Asegrese de que la tarjeta de vacunas est actualizada. Las leyes de
los Estados Unidos requieren vacunas que dependen de la edad y sexo del solicitante. Si
usted no puede proporcionar una tarjeta de vacuna actual y completa al doctor o la doctora,
usted tendr que cancelar el pago de todas las vacunas.

5. Presentar los siguientes datos en una hoja en blanco:

a. Direccin exacta donde vive actualmente en Honduras

b. Direccin exacta a donde va a vivir en los Estados Unidos

c. Correo electrnico de contacto

d. Si la paciente es del sexo femenino y tiene hijos: fechas de nacimiento de todos los
hijos.
e. Fecha de cirugas previas.
Los exmenes mdicos por lo general tienen una validez de 6 meses, pero en ciertos casos de
solicitantes con condiciones mdicas, son vlidos por solamente 3 meses. Usted deber de
repetir los exmenes si: No termina su proceso antes de la fecha de vencimiento de su examen.
Si cambia de pasaporte despus de haberse hecho los exmenes mdicos, tendr que repetir
los exmenes con el nuevo pasaporte.

Examen General: Lps. 1000 (Honorarios del mdico) El costo total del examen mdico el cual
incluye exmenes de laboratorio y vacunas puede llegar hasta Lps 23,000. Esto depender de

PRUEBAS DE RELACIN

Desafortunadamente, algunos documentos que presentan los beneficiarios en el momento de la

entrevista como certificados de matrimonio y nacimiento, no son confiables. Por lo que se necesita
evidencia adicional con el fin de procesar su aplicacin para una visa de inmigrante, por favor
presente prueba convincente de relacin entre usted y su cnyuge.

Aunque no es un requisito, es recomendable que tanto el peticionario como el beneficiario estn

presentes durante la entrevista. Presente cualquier documento en original que usted considere
necesario para establecer dicha relacin. Algunos ejemplos se incluyen:

Si su peticin es basada en una relacin de MATRIMONIO:

Certificados de nacimiento de hijos dentro del matrimonio

Fotografas de usted y su cnyuge.
Fotos de la Ceremonia Civil y/o por la Iglesia
Recibos de remesas de dinero que su cnyuge le enva a usted
Intercambio de cartas entre usted y su cnyuge

EVIDENCE OF RELATIONSHIP

Unfortunately, many documents from the Civil Registry, such as marriage and birth certificates, are
not always reliable. Therefore, we need additional evidence of your relationship with the person who
filed the petition for you. We are far more likely to issue your visa on the day of the interview if
you bring us evidence of this relationship.

While it is not required, it is helpful to have both the petitioner and applicant at the interview.

Examples of evidence of relationship include the originals of the following documents:

If your petition is based upon a MARRIAGE or FIANCE relationship:

Birth certificates of children you have together

 Photos of you and your spouse/fianc at different stages of your relationship
Photos of your marriage ceremony
Receipts from money sent to you by your spouse/fianc
Letters exchanged between you and your spouse/fianc

If your petition is based upon a PARENT/CHILD or SIBLING relationship (with the petitioner or
the biological parent in the case of a step-relationship):

Family photos with the applicant and petitioner at different ages, especially before the
petitioner left Honduras
The yellow birth registration card issued when the birth was registered
Letters exchanged between the applicant and petitioner
Vaccination/growth certificate

These are simply examples of ways to prove your relationship. Please bring any documentation and
evidence you have that you think might be helpful. Remember, we want to work with you to help you
to start your new life in the United States.
 Information Sheet For Genetic (DNA) Testing

In order to qualify for certain classes of visas, an applicant is required to demonstrate to the Consular
Officer that he or she has a particular blood relationship with the Petitioner or Principal Applicant.
One way to demonstrate this relationship is through DNA testing. DNA testing is optional. In some
cases, it can be useful to prove the existence of a biological relationship in the absence of other
sufficient proof of relationship. If you elect to seek DNA testing, you must follow the procedures
outlined here.

Please note that DNA collection abroad is only valid if it takes place at the U.S. Embassy in
Tegucigalpa.

Information for Petitioners residing in the United States

The Petitioner must schedule a DNA test appointment with a laboratory that is approved by the
American Association of Blood Banks (AABB). A list of AABB-approved laboratories can be found at
www.aabb.org.

Information for Petitioners Residing in Honduras

Petitioners residing in Honduras must choose an AABB lab in the United States (as previously
detailed) and then have a DNA test kit sent to the American Embassy in Honduras. A list of AABB
approved laboratories can be found at www.aabb.org. Once the samples are taken, the samples will
be sent to the United States AABB Clinic for analysis.

Petitioners must request that the selected laboratory in the U.S. send a collection kit for each
Beneficiary directly to the following address:

Information for the Beneficiary in Honduras

Once the DNA kit arrives at the Embassy, Beneficiaries will be contacted by the American
Embassy to schedule an appointment. Any questions may be directed to the American Embassy
DNA email account at tggdna@state.gov. On the appointment day, the Beneficiary must appear in
person with two color passport photographs (2"x2"), a valid passport, a photocopy of the passport,
and the address of the Petitioner in the United States. Failure to produce satisfactory documentation
will result in delays. The Beneficiary must pay a fee in cash (exact change) to the laboratory at the
U.S. Embassy at the time of sample collection. The current fee per applicant is US$22, or its
equivalent in Lempiras. Applicants must not eat or drink anything three hours prior to the collection
time. This includes gum and candy.

The Petitioner must also check with the laboratory to ensure that a pre-paid envelope is included with
the kit. Otherwise, the Beneficiary should provide a pre-paid courier delivery envelope addressed to
the selected U.S. laboratory. This envelope will be used to send the Beneficiary's sample for
comparison with the Petitioner's sample. Beneficiaries can acquire pre-paid courier delivery
envelopes at FedEx, DHL, etc.
What Happens Next?

If the genetic test results support the claimed relationship, the Consular Section will notify the
Beneficiary of the positive results and remind the Beneficiary to complete any pending
documentation. If there is no documentation pending, an immigrant visa will be issued and the
applicant informed.

If the genetic test results indicate the claimed relationship does not exist, the petition will be returned
to the Department of Homeland Security accompanied by a recommendation by the Consular Section
that the petition be revoked. The case will be closed and no further documents or evidence will be
accepted by the Embassy. The Consular Section will then notify the Beneficiary with news of the
petition's revocation.

Important things to Remember about DNA Testing

Genetic testing is voluntary; you choose whether or not to do it.

The Embassy will only accept results collected from the buccal (oral) swab DNA testing method.
This method (removing a small amount of genetic material from the inside of the mouth) is
simple, clean, and non-invasive.
The cost of testing and all expenses relating to testing (such as doctors' fees, mailing fees,
AABB-approved laboratory fees, etc.) are the responsibility of the Petitioner and Beneficiary and
must be paid in advance.
The Embassy has no role in setting these costs and will not intervene with any laboratory to
seek any adjustments in costs.
The Embassy does not provide refunds for unused DNA kits nor does it participate in any way in
the financial transactions required for DNA testing.
For purposes of visa issuance, the Embassy will only accept original genetic test results that
have been sent to the Embassy directly by the laboratory conducting the test. This is to ensure
all necessary safeguards in conformity with U.S. visa regulations are followed.
The Embassy does not assume responsibility for the professional caliber or practice of any of
the AABB (American Association of Blood Banks) accredited parentage testing laboratories.
Submitting to testing in no way guarantees the subsequent issuance of an immigrant visa.
While the genetic test is pending, all other investigations related to the case will be suspended
until the testing process is completed.
Petitions returned to the Department of Homeland Security in the United States based on
negative results may be revoked or denied by the DHS. The Embassy reminds all applicants
that penalties exist for making false statements in the filing of immigrant visa applications.

PRUEBA GENTICA DE ADN

Para calificar para algunas categoras de visas, se requiere que el beneficiario le demuestre al Oficial
Consular que l o ella tienen una relacin familiar o consangunea con el Peticionario o el
Beneficiario Principal. Una manera de comprobar la relacin biolgica es a travs de un examen de
ADN. El examen es opcional y en algunos casos, sirve de gran ayuda para probar su relacin
biolgica, en el caso que no posee ms prueba de relacin. Si usted escoge hacerse la prueba de
ADN, debe seguir el procedimiento que se describe a continuacin.

El examen de ADN fuera de los Estados Unidos solamente es vlido en la Embajada de Los
Estados Unidos en Tegucigalpa.
Informacin para el Peticionario que Reside en los Estados Unidos

El peticionario debe programar una cita para la toma de muestra con un laboratorio aprobado por la
Asociacin Americana de Bancos de Sangre (AABB, por sus siglas en ingls). Una lista de los
laboratorios aprobados por la AABB puede encontrarse en www.aabb.org La mayora de estos
laboratorios se encuentran en los Estados Unidos, pero tambin existen laboratorios en los
siguientes pases: Canad, Repblica Dominicana y Gran Bretaa

Informacin para el Peticionario que Reside en Honduras

Los peticionarios que residen en Honduras deben escoger un laboratorio de la AABB en los Estados
Unidos (informacin anteriormente detallada), el laboratorio enva el estuche de recoleccin de ADN
directamente a la Embajada de los Estados Unidos en Honduras. Una lista de los laboratorios
aprobados por la AABB puede encontrarse en www.aabb.org Entonces, tanto el peticionario y el
beneficiario pueden solicitar una cita de prueba de ADN en la Embajada de EE.UU. en Honduras, o
si tienen una direccin de correo electrnico y nmero de seguimiento de los kit de ADN entregado a
la Embajada podrn solicitarla en el enlace en la parte superior de esta pgina. Una vez que las
muestras sean tomadas las muestras sern enviadas a los Estados Unidos AABB Clnica para el
anlisis.

El peticionario debe solicitar al laboratorio en los Estados Unidos que enve un estuche de
recoleccin de ADN para cada solicitante directamente a la siguiente direccin:

Informacin para los Beneficiarios

Los beneficiarios sern contactados por la Embajada de Estados Unidos para programar una cita, o
si tuvieran alguna duda, podran ponerse en contacto con la Embajada a travs del correo
electrnico tggdna@state.gov En el momento de la cita, el beneficiario debe de presentarse en
persona con dos fotos a color, tamao pasaporte (2X 2), un pasaporte valido, fotocopia del
pasaporte, y una direccin en los Estados Unidos donde desean que les enven el resultado. Si no
se presentan los documentos requeridos, el proceso se demorar. El beneficiario debe pagar por los
servicios del laboratorio que le tome la muestra en la Embajada de los Estados Unidos en el
momento de recolectar la muestra. El costo actual por cada solicitante es de US$-22cambio exacto)
o su equivalente en Lempiras. El Beneficiario no podr comer nada tres horas antes de la coleccin
de la muestra del ADN. Esto incluye caramelos, confites y chicles.

El peticionario deber verificar con el laboratorio de los Estados Unidos que un sobre pre-pagado
est incluido en el estuche de recoleccin. De no ser as, el beneficiario debe de proporcionar un
sobre pre-pagado de servicio de encomienda con la direccin del laboratorio en los Estados
Unidos. Este sobre ser usado para enviar la muestra bucal del beneficiario para ser comparada con
la muestra del peticionario. El beneficiario puede adquirir el sobre pre-pagado en Fedex o DHL etc.
Qu Sucede Despus?

Si el resultado de la prueba gentica demuestra ser positivo, la Seccin Consular se comunicar con
el beneficiario para que se presente a la Embajada y complete la documentacin pendiente. Si no
existe documentacin pendiente, la visa de inmigrante ser aprobada.

Si el resultado de la prueba gentica es negativo, la peticin ser devuelta al Departamento de

Seguridad Interna acompaada por una recomendacin hecha por la Seccin Consular para que la
peticin sea revocada. El caso ser cerrado y la Embajada no aceptar ms documentacin o
evidencia referente al mismo. La Seccin Consular notificar al beneficiario informando sobre la
revocacin.

Aspectos Importantes que Deben Recordarse acerca de la Prueba de ADN:

Someterse a la prueba gentica es de carcter voluntario; usted escoge si desea hacrsela o

no.
La Embajada solamente aceptar resultados bajo el mtodo bucal. Este mtodo consiste en
remover una pequea cantidad de material gentico de la parte interior de la boca, es sencillo,
limpio y no invasivo.
El costo de la prueba y de todos los gastos en que se incurra (tales como honorarios mdicos,
pago por servicio de envo, pago al laboratorio aprobado por la AABB, etc.) corren por cuenta
del peticionario y del beneficiario y deben de pagarse por adelantado.
La Embajada no tiene ninguna responsabilidad en cuanto a los costos y no interviene en el
ajuste de los costos.
La Embajada no suministra reembolsos por estuches de ADN que no sean utilizados ni
participa en alguna forma en las transacciones financieras para la prueba de ADN.
Para propsitos de emisin de la visa, la Embajada solamente aceptar los resultados
originales de la prueba gentica de ADN que sean enviados directamente a la Embajada por el
laboratorio que hizo la prueba. Esto lo hacemos con el propsito de asegurarnos que el
proceso de emisin de visas estadounidenses est conforme a las regulaciones.
La prueba del ADN solamente ser vlida si la recoleccin que se ha hecho en el extranjero se
ha realizado en la Embajada Americana.
La Embajada no asume ninguna responsabilidad por el profesionalismo con que se
desempee cualquiera de los laboratorios del AABB (American Association of Blood Banks)
que estn acreditados para hacer el examen consanguneo.
El enviar la prueba de ninguna manera garantiza la emisin de una visa de inmigrante, y
mientras estn pendientes los resultados de la prueba gentica, toda investigacin referente al
caso ser suspendida hasta que la misma sea completada.
Las peticiones que se devuelvan al Departamento de Seguridad Interna de los Estados Unidos
basadas en resultados negativos de la prueba de ADN pueden ser revocadas o denegadas por
el Departamento de Seguridad Interna. La Embajada le recuerda a todos los solicitantes de
que existen sanciones para aquellos que hagan declaraciones falsas al llenar su solicitud de
visa de inmigrante.
