 CARBON FIBER

Carbon fiber is a synthetic material that offers a unique combination of qualities, high strength,
high stiffness and low weight. Carbon fiber composites are about 10 times stronger and 5 times
lighter than steel, and about 1.5 times lighter than aluminium. Together with the right resin
systems, carbon fiber composites are also known for being extremely corrosion resistant and
able to withstand high wear. Those qualities make it useful in a wide variety of aesthetic and
structural applications. Due to its unique design, carbon fiber is also used in the manufacture of luxury
goods including watches, wallets etc. This material makes the product unique in the world of luxury
and elegance and helps it to be one step ahead of the competition.

The future of Carbon Fiber is very bright, with vast potential in many different industries.
Among them are:
Alternate Energy Wind turbines, compressed natural gas storage and
transportation, fuel cells

Fuel Efficient Automobiles Currently used in small production, high performance

automobiles, but moving toward large production series cars

Construction and Infrastructure Light weight pre-cast concrete, earth quake

protection

Oil Exploration Deep Sea drilling platforms, buoyancy, umbilical, choke, and kill
lines, drill pipes

According to the report published by Zion Market Research, global carbon fiber
market volume accounted for around 35-kilo tons while market revenue accounted for
approximately USD 1.9 Billion in 2015 and is expected to reach approximately USD 3.3
Billion by 2020.

From above report it is clear that carbon fiber industry is growing steadily to meet the demands
arising from different applications such as aerospace, military, automobile etc. Carbon fiber is
the future of every industry, but currently there is no industry in our country producing carbon
fiber, to fill this void and to make our project useful and practical we selected this topic.

Different methods of production of carbon fiber are under consideration we will select the most
suitable and will complete our project so that it can be utilized and will help our industry to
flourish.
