Save the download file, mysql-connector-java-5.0.7.zip, to a temporary directory.
The file size is about 8.5MB. Tutorial Book: JVM

Unzip this file. I got a directory called mysql-connector-java-5.0.7. I moved and
renamed this directory to \local\mysql-connector-java. Tutorial Book: Perl - Part A
