I worked 4 years (1998-2002) as a translator/interpreter in a military unit. Throughout these years I did various translation works covering many fields: literature, technical, medical, psychology, patents, operator manuals etc. For the last eleven years of professional work (16 years experience in all, but not professional) I've translated documents mainly in technical fields: documents and user's manuals for wood processing company, architecture documents, user's manuals for pumps, printing presses, electrical instruments, safety data sheets, automotive literature (diagnostic scan tools, field remedies etc.) and many others. Besides this I have an extensive experience in translating patents in various fields, mainly chemistry. Plus, tens of documents pertaining to social security administration: birth certificates, civil judgments, marriage certificates, power of attorneys, account statements, school transcripts, pension documents etc. I've also done a lot of work in transcreation for Romanian language, along with translation in entertainment field, mainly movies. In May 2000 I gave the test for receiving the title of certified English- Romanian translator (literature). The grade I took was 8.5 (scale from 1 to 10). If I am to give precise figures, my rates would stay between 0.07 and 0.12 USD/sw, with an extra 50% for editing (if required). All the rates charged for each job vary depending on the volume of work, subject matter, technical content, legibility of text, delivery format and the timescale of the work. My daily capacity is approximately 2500 words. I work with MS Office 2010 and my CAT tools are Trados Freelance Plus 2015.
