Quick Write: In what ways have humans impacted the environment? In two paragraphs explain how

Formative mid-assessment(s)
Students will complete a note taking worksheet for each source (video, website, article etc). These
worksheets will require students to identify arguments and examples of strong supportive evidence.
Each worksheet will close by asking the student to explain how this specific article/video/excerpt
educates the reader on the specific environmental issue and its impact on humanity.

Summative/unit assessment
Explanatory Essay: How have humans impacted the environment? Write a 5 paragraph essay detailing
a few of the key environmental issues of our time. Your essay should discuss the immediate
consequences as well as the long term effects on humanity if these issues remain unresolved. Use
evidence from multiple sources to support your explanation.
