Automobiles cause approximately 75% of carbon monoxide pollution in the US. Factories also pollute the air through fossil fuel emissions, which contain toxic particles that harm human health. Air pollution causes over 200,000 premature deaths annually in the US and 6.5 million worldwide. Increasing the use of electric vehicles and encouraging practices like carpooling could help reduce air pollution.
Deforestation occurs at an alarming rate of 18 million acres annually, equivalent to the size of Panama. By 2030, only 10% of forests may remain if deforestation continues unabated. Trees produce oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide, so widespread deforestation could disrupt the global climate and cause many species to become extinct. Increased agriculture

First Issue: The impact that cars and factories have on our
air and how can we reduce it?
According to the EPA, Automobiles cause approximately 75% of Carbon Monoxide pollution in the US. The website Earth on the Edge shows that approximately 19.64 pounds of CO2 is produced by burning a gallon of gasoline. Although electric cars doesnt burn any gas. Factories are also a main factor in the pollution of the air, factories pollute the air through fossil fuels emissions. In those emissions produced by factories there are many toxic particles that are bad for our health. According to the website MIT NEWS, 200 000 people die each year in US because of air pollution and approximately 6.5 million in the world every year, air pollution can provoke many sicknesses that can cause early death for some people. Those dramatic statistics shows that we have to solve this problem in order to avoid the global warming and have a healthy life. According to the website Nanalyze, there are approximately 250 million cars and trucks on road, in those 250 million only 500 000 are electric cars which is very low. Electric cars dont produce carbons emissions which is very good for our environment and it is going to completely reduce the pollution if a big part of the population replace their car by an electric car. According to the website Energy.gov, many policies were created by the government to encourage people to buy electric cars, the government created The federal Internal Revenue Service (IRS) offers a tax credit between 2500 and 7500 $ for all the people who buy an electric vehicle in the US. Carpooling is also a good idea to reduce air pollution because Carpooling cuts down on the number of cars which means that there will be less carbon emissions. Second issue: The negative impact of deforestation on the environment but also on us. According to the food and agriculture organization (FAO), 18 million acres of forest are deforested every year which is the equivalent of the country of Panama. Some other statics have been release by the FAO, about half of the worlds tropical forests have been cleared. According to the website The world counts, by the year 2030, we might only have 10% of forest left, this statistics are very dramatic and it shows that we have to figure out solutions to solve this problem. A world without forests would first cause Global warming but it can also cause the loss of many species habitat and then their extinction. Trees are also a main producer of oxygen that we need to live but they also absorb and store Carbon dioxide. According to Rain Forest Action which is an organization that is protecting wildlife, over 3.5 Billion trees are cut down each year, this number is very high. According to National Geographic Forests cover almost 30% of our planet, the main driver of deforestation is agriculture, farmers cut more forests to provide more room for their lands. Agriculture is one of the main cause of deforestation, but a lot of people are debating about this topic that became nowadays a real issue. Some people are saying that we need more lands because our population is growing while at the same time another group of persons are saying that if farmers continue and farmers still cut forest their lands, a lot of animal are going to disappear which can lead to a the extinction of some species. According to the website mother nature network, we should add some new habits in our daily life in order to avoid the extinction of trees, the first main action would be to plant trees in our garden or in a farm if somebody is a farms owner, the second action would be to go paperless, the third action would be to recycle and buy recycle products and finally the fourth and last action would be to stop buying some type of woods, if a big part of the population is doing those actions then we are going to be able to reduce and maybe stop deforestation. Australia created a law which is the Australian Illegal Logging Prohibition Act. , in 2014, to ban some kinds of woods that are considered as illegal. The government are the main actor who would be able to reduce and stop deforestation because by creating some laws and rewards for people who contribute to stop deforestation it is going to encourage people to be part of those movements and then make those organizations stronger and more powerful those phenomena that can lead to a global warming. Third Issue: Companies using animal skins to produce clothes, its impact on the environment and on the nature. Approximately 35 animals are killed to make a single coat, most of those animals are foxes or rabbits. According to the website Animalequality, around 30 million animals are killed each year to produce clothes. Those statistics are very high and shocking, If governments leaders and organizations doesnt figure out a solution, those statistics might increase and lead to the extinction of some species. The Philippine crocodile is the world's most severely threatened crocodile species with less than 100 adults remaining in the world. Those species of crocodile would disappear in 10 years if nothing is done to solve this issue. Those kind of crocodiles are used to make handbags. According to the PETA organization, most exotic animals like snakes or crocodiles that are used for bags or other type of clothes are skins alive, which is even more dramatic. According to the PETA organization, 85 % of the fur industrys skins is coming from animals who were captive in cages for a long time then skinned alive. According to the same organization, China is the world largest fur exporter supplying half of the skins that are exported to US, there are no penalties for people who abuse animals in China. In US, a lot of animals are hunted by using the steel jaw trap which is legal in 43 states, those traps cause pain to animals and it also leave them starving for a while. CITES was created is 1960, CITES (Conventional on International Trade in Endangered species of wild Fauna and Flora) is a treaty that is protecting endangered species like Wild cats, tigers, jaguar, leopard. The import of skins coming from those endangered species is completely forbidden. This treaty isnt very effective because a lot of those skins are still imported and exported all over the world. According to the organization PETA, Vietnam exports over 30 000 crocodiles skins every year. Those skins are sold to some brands that use it to produce luxury handbags. Although the idea of the treaty is equal, it needs better international enforcement through better inspection of imported furs and better effort to seize illegal skins.
