Infinitely Variable Interval Control Valve (IV-ICV)
The IV-ICV infinitely variable interval control valve is a
remotely operated control valve used to control flow into or
out of an isolated reservoir interval. The IV-ICV valve is the
core of SmartWell technology and is used where selective

valve allows the operator to alter the flow characteristics of
the zone without mechanical intervention.

Application
Used when selective control over production or injection
is required

Features
Infinitely variable positioning of choke
Metal-to-metal seal locking mechanism eliminates the
requirement for hydraulic pressure to be maintained.
Incremental choke control achieved electronically or
hydraulically
Valid indication of choke position at surface can be
achieved using a SAM sensor actuation module or

High integrity metal-to-metal choke sealing
Shrouded version available for stacked zone applications
Optional deflector to divert flow away from the adjacent

Benefits
Control of reservoir intervals without the requirement
for well intervention
Ability to alter flow characteristics of each zone
Flow area equivalent to tubing flow area
Flow allocation capability when used in conjunction
with a SAM module or permanent downhole
gauge (PDG)

Operation
The IV-ICV valve is controlled by differential pressure
applied to the actuator piston. A minimum of 250 psi
differential is needed to unlock the metal-to-metal seal and

The WellDynamics HF-1 zonal isolation packer is a single-
string, retrievable, high-performance cased hole packer.
The HF-1 zonal isolation packer is designed for
SmartWell applications and has the facility for bypass of
electrical and hydraulic control lines without the
requirement for splicing. The HF-1 packer can be used as
both the top production packer and as one of many lower
packers isolating adjacent zones.

The HF-1 zonal isolation packer is designed for higher load

and greater pressures than standard production packers. This
is accomplished by its unique slip configuration and
additional body lock ring.

Features
Control line or tubing pressure set
Bypass for up to five 1/4 in. control lines
Hydraulic interlock prevents premature setting.
Unique full coverage slip system
NBR element with anti-extrusion system
Premium threaded connections throughout

Benefits
Control line feed-through without splicing
Qualified for high tensile or compressive loads
Tailpipe can be left in tension or compression.
No body movement during setting

Permanent Downhole Gauges
The permanent downhole pressure and temperature gauge
(PDG) system is offered in conjunction with SmartWell
completion technology. The PDG is based on WellDynamics
field proven SCRAMS technology. SmartWell completion
technology allows the operator to remotely actuate downhole
flow control equipment and monitor and record reservoir
data to optimize reservoir performance.

The data acquisition portion of a non-integrated SmartWell

system is the WellDynamics PDG which uses resonating
quartz pressure/temperature gauges with asynchronous data
link (ASDL) communications protocol to communicate
from a platform, land, or subsea control system.

Application
The PDG system allows the operator to monitor reservoir
conditions and trends. Used in conjunction with
WellDynamics flow control equipment, the operator can
manipulate the downhole configuration to optimize
reservoir performance.

A single PDG mandrel (containing up to six Quartzdyne

gauges) can be used in any SmartWell installation to monitor

The following paragraphs describe the features of
Peak completion components.

Tubing-Retrievable Safety Valve

Vastly higher flow rates make well containment a
priority.
Proven SP valve design provides high reliability.
New slim design eliminates one casing size and

Bridge Plug
Compact design for ease of running and retrieving
Set/retrieve on slickline, electric line, coiled tubing, or
workstring
Field proven
Full circumferential slips for secure holding capability
Packing element above slips for debris protection
5,000 psi rating
H2S service

VersaFlex Liner Hanger

Liner hanger and liner top isolation packers are packaged
as a single unit.
Packer element design allows for high circulation rates.
Large radial clearance between hanger/packer body and
support casing improves run-in hole speeds and
circulation rates.
Improved fluid flow with the absence of external
components such as slips, hydraulic cylinders, cages, etc.
Less induced stress and more even stress distribution in
supporting casing for a given liner length
No physical damage to the supporting casing; no slip
wickers to cut into the supporting casing
Hanger/packer actuating systems are contained in the
setting tool assembly, eliminating any potential leak path
created by actuating mechanisms.

Running tool provides positive indication that wellhead
plug is set properly.
Designed and tested to meet API Specification 14A and
built to API Specification 6A and API Specification 17D
where applicable

Mirage Disappearing Plug

Multiple pressure cycle capability allows tubing pressure
testing.
Automatically expends after last pressure cycle
