LESSON 1

Practice of Pranayama breathing exercise should be carried where fresh air is freely
available. Pranayama breathing exercise has three parts viz.
(a)INHALATION (b) RETENTION OF BREATH and (c) EXHALATION.

As you practice, take a long breath and try to hold it within the lungs, as long as you can
Comfortably hold it. You may exhale slowly when you start feeling discomfort in holding
the breath. Do this a number of times so as to know for yourself your own capacity to
hold the breath. It may be for about 5 or 6 seconds, or more, or less. You have to get a
clear idea of your own capacity to hold the breath. The accepted average for practice
generally is about 16 seconds. Now, if you are able to hold the breath for 16 seconds,
that becomes your basic capacity for retention of breath in the lungs. The inhalation and
exhalation in Pranayama is determined by this retention capacity of breath. So, with this
principle, the inhalation should be completed within time of retention viz. 4 seconds,
and the exhalation within time of retention, viz. 8 seconds. The proportion of your
inhalation, retention and exhalation will therefore, be 1:4:2.

So, during the practice, first take a deep inhalation, filling the lungs with air and oxygen
within 4 seconds; retain the breath without any discomfort for sixteen seconds, and
exhale slowly, thoroughly emptying the lungs within eight seconds.

As the Prana energy has to be drawn in separately in its Positive and Negative aspects,
we have to close one nostril while inhaling through the other. Now, the real practice of
Pranayama:

(a) Close the RIGHT nostril and inhale (keeping your throat as axis) steadily through the
LEFT nostrils in 4 seconds to fill the lungs with air and oxygen; retain the breath for 16
seconds, without any strain. Negative Prana is drawn by the Ida Naadi and is taken to
the bottom of the spinal column.
(b) At the end of 16 seconds of retention of breath, close the LEFT nostril and release
the RIGHT nostril and exhale fully within 8 seconds.
(c) Keeping the RIGHT nostril still open (and keeping the Left nostril still closed) inhale
fully within 4 seconds and retain the breath in the lungs for 16 seconds; then, close the
Right nostril and exhale through the Left nostril by releasing the left nostril, within 8
seconds.
This process of inhalation through Left nostril, retention of breath, exhalation through
Right nostril, and again inhalation through Right nostril, retention of breath and
exhalation through Left nostril, constitutes one Pranayama.

Practice Pranayama four times i.e 2 in the morning, 2 before taking solid food, and 2
in the evening and 2 at night before dinner. You may gradually increase the number of
times of practice of PRANAYAMA according to your need.
LESSON # 2
Memory Developing Breath The purpose of this MEMORY DEVELOPIONG BREATH is
to charge the body with PRANA, the subtle Force of Life nerve and brain energy
Today let us take up the first of the above breaths the Memory Developing Breath, for
our daily practice. This is to be practiced, following Pranayama, immediately upon rising
in the morning. Get up about half hour earlier than normal, and practice before an open
window, if possible.

MEMORY DEVELOPING BREATH


This breath is to be practiced in a seated position and you may follow anyone of the
following postures:
1) Sit in a squatting position (cross-legged) on the floor using a mat or any sheet of
cloth.
This posture is called seven electrical connections our seat touching the floor (2), both
the feet touching the floor (2), both hands (palms are downward) placed on above our
knees (2) and the point where our feet touch each other (1) = 7 electrical connections.
Your spine should always be erect and straight. OR
2) Use a chair/sofa of convenient height your feet should be flat on the floor with heels
touching together and your toes apart. Keep your spine erect and straight. Your palms
downward resting on your knees and your shoulders should be in dropped position
(normal position i.e. should not be raised as sometimes we do involuntarily). OR
3) Use a stool of convenient height and follow as above.
In this breath, only the head is moved movement of the head corresponds with
movement of the breath. Begin with the head forward, chin rest on the chest, and then
INHALE slowly through the nostrils as you bring the head backward with a rhythmic
movement as far as it will go without strain. Only the head moves the rest of the body
remains motionless. As the head swings forward, EXHALE vigorously through the
mouth, the teeth are partially closed, causing a slight resistance to the breath and you
will create a sound similar to pressure cooker. The breath is done in series of SEVEN
SEVENS (one breath consists of one inhale and one exhale 7 times) i.e. 7 x 7 times
(or 49 times) in all. Breathe two sevens, and rest, two sevens, and rest, two more
sevens, and rest, then a final seven. Before the actual practice of the Memory
Developing Breath, you must familiarize with the process of the rhythmic swinging of the
head backward and forward, without strain, and without moving the rest of the body
below the neck, so that the chin is close to the chest. Do this several times to get the
free-swinging movement, after, which actually begin the exercise. Please follow the
instructions given below to get the maximum results from this MEMORY DEVELOPING
BREATH:
(a) As the head swings back, take a deep breath in through the nostrils (evenly and
smoothly).
(b) As soon as the inhalation is complete with the backward swing of the head, start
exhaling vigorously through the teeth, which the head swings forward and downward
a deep forceful exhalation (through the teeth). (No movement of the arms; the back
remains straight, nothing moves except the head).
(c) Repeat this process of inhalation through the nostrils (as the head swings back), and
exhalation through the teeth vigorously and forcefully (as the head swings forward and
downward) 14 times (14 swings back, and 14 swings forward, like the pendulum of a
clock) without pause, the forward motion of the head beginning as soon as the
backward motion stops. Then rest a few movement watching and feeling the different
sensations of your body. Then do another round of 14 breaths likewise then a few
movements rest, and one more round of 14 breaths and after a few movements rest, a
final round of 7 breaths making n all 49 breaths. Then rest and relax the whole body.
After taking rest for moments, turn the hands, so that they are now palms up on the
knees. With the lesson before you, read slowly, with as much as feeling as you can, the
words of the relaxation exercise (affirmation) for this breath given hereunder, trying to
make real everything you are saying. Make sure that you recite the words in a relaxed
state of mind as well of body. It is only when you are relaxed mentally that the words
and feelings sink deeply into the subconscious mind. You are then sure to experience
what you will be saying in the affirmation. Later on, after a week or two of the practice,
you will become familiar with the words of the relaxation exercise, and will find it easier
to memorizethem. This should be memorized, ultimately, because as long as you are in
Brahma Vidya this breath is to be a daily ritual, and will be found more effective when
you have memorized the words and can keep the eyes closed while repeating them. At
first this may not be advisable because the effort of recalling the words may prevent
complete mental relaxation. Take time to memorize them fully so that they flow from
your memory, freely.

Relaxation Exercise following MEMORY DEVELOING BREATH


(To be memorized and recited)
NOW I IMAGINE A GREAT LIGHT AT TH E TOP OF MY HEAD. THE TOP OF
MY HEAD IS HEAVY AND RELAXED
THE FOREHEAD IS RELAXED
THE MUSCELS OF THE FACE ARE WITHDRAWN
NO PRESSURE ON THE TEETH
THE JAW GENTLY DROPS
THE ARMS AND HANDS ARE VERY HEAVY
BUT OH! HOW HAPPY I FEEL
I FEEL HAPPY ALL OVER
PARTICULARLY IN MY BEATIFUL FACE
MY FACE IS BATHED IN SMILES
I FEEL A GENTLE PRESSURE FROM WITHIN OUTWARDS, TAKING AWAY ALL
THE LITTLE LINES OF CARE, WORRY, TROUBLE, FEAR I FEEL HAPPY
OVER.
NOW THE LIGHT COMES DOWN, THE CHEST IS RELAXED, THE ABDOMEN
DROPS DOWN AS THE LIGHT GOES DOWN, DOWN TO THE TIPS OF MY TOES

NOW I IMAINE THAT GREAT LIGHT AT THE BACK OF MY NECK. I AM


LOOKING DOWN OVER MY BEAUTIFUL SPINE, IT SEEMS THAT I AM
LOOKING AT A GREAT WATERFALL, WITH THE SUNSHIRE PLAYING ON IT. I
SEE A COUNTLESS NUMBER OF TINY SPECKS OF IRIDESCENT LIGHT
LIGHT AND I KNOW MY WHOLE BODY TO BE FULL OF LIGHT. IF MY EYE
BE SINGLE, THE SINGLE EYE, THE ETERNAL EYE, THE THIRD EYE, THE
SPITITUAL EYE (THE EYE THAT I AM NOW USING). IF MY EYE BE SINGLE,
MY WHOLE BODY WILL BE FULL OF LIGHT, AND I KNOW THT EVERY CELL
IN THAT COUNTLESS, COUNTLESS CELLS IN MY BODY IS A LIGHT A
LAMP, A TORCH, BRINGING TO ME THE LIGHT OF THE DIVINE WISDOM
WITHIN ME, THE LIGHT BEING IN PERFECT CORRESPONDENCE WITH THE
FLAME, AS THE FLAME IS IN PERFECT CORRESDPONDENCE WITH THE FIRE
THE FIRE OF DIVINE LOVE THAT IS IN THE CENTRE OF CENTRES OF MY IN
MOST BEING
AND NOW FEELING HAPPY, GIVING THANKS SLOWLY WITHOUT
LETTING MYSLF KNOW IT, I TAKE A LITTLE BREATH AND A LONG DEEP,
SWEEPING, SWEEPING SIGH
NOW I TAKE ANOTHER LITTLE BREATH AND A QUICK SIGH

LESSON # 3

Now let us take up the subject of Scientific Meditation.

The posture for meditation is very simple. You may sit in the sevenfold (squatting)
position in the place selected by you, as near as possible to the same time of the day (or
night); you must decide about the time according to your convenience. Now, follow
instructions given below carefully for achieving rapid success in your practice.
a) Sit on the floor in the squatting position, with a cushion under your seat, so that your
legs are slightly low in position; see that the spine is straight. Repeat the SPINE MUST
BE STRAIGHT. (There is no need to sit in what one may call; Siddha Asana or Padma
Asana. >>simple squatting position will do).
b) Take three or four breaths through the nostrils (free smooth inhalation and
exhalation); as you exhale, flex the body (get rid of all tensions in the body), so that it
becomes quite limp (not so flexible). The tenseness of all the muscles withdrawn. {Place
your hands on your knees palms upward. Sit still, breathing gently without effort. Sit
still, and WATCH YOUR BREATHING PROCESS (see whether the breathing is smooth
or harsh, slow or fast, broken or uneven) and as you continue watching, you will feel the
even incoming and even outgoing breath which gradually becomes very fine and
perhaps you will have difficulty in identifying the inhalation and exhalation or whether
you are breathing at all. When you reach this level of consciousness, you can be sure
that your body is relaxed entirely.
c) Now do with the MIND what you have done with the body. Just let go. Dont try to
think dont try not to think. In this process, all kinds of ideas will surge up in the mind.
Pay no attention let them surge. Dont resist. Sit quietly and watch the show, so to
speak. After a time, however, without stirring, take possession, and say in a low, but firm
voice, slowly and, of course, audibly PEACE. BE STILL. I AM STILLI AM AT
PEACEI AM AT PEACEPEACEPEACE.
(You must not think of time, for you are about to lift your consciousness into super
physical realm where time does not exist).
The above process will gradually enable the mind to be quiet and the mind will be free.
At this time your Conscious Mind and the Sub-Conscious Mind are very close and
whatever you recite reverently will sink effectively into the Sub-conscious Mind,
ultimately to be absorbed by the entire body through the countless cells within.
If there is any tendency for the mind to wander, simply repeat once again. PEACE
PEACEPEACE. And the mind will become peaceful and steady.
d) Now, take the following foreword (to be memorized) given below and chant with deep
reverential attitude of Mind.
I AM NOW ENTERING UPON THE GREATEST TEACHING ACCESSIBLE TO
MEN/WOMEN, FOR I AM LEARNING THE SECRET OF EXISTENCE.
THE RIDDLE OF THE UNIVERSE IS ABOUT ME: I AM NOW SOLVING IT.
I LEARN WHY MEN/WOMEN DIE. WHY THEY ARE BORN, AND WHY THEY LIVE. I
LEARN WHY MEN/WOMEN SUCCEED, AND WHY THEY FAIL, WHY THEY ARE
HAPPY AND WHY THEY ARE DISCONTENT. I HAVE THE POWER AND ABILITY TO
LIVE AS LONG AS I DESIRE, TO ACHIEVE WHATEVER I WISH, AND THE DOORS
OF MY MIND ARE NOW OPEN THAT I MAY LEARN HOW THIS IS DONE.
I NOW LEARN THAT MAN/WOMAN IS THE MASTER OF HIS/HER DESTINY.
I NOW REALISE THAT ALL NEGATION IS A MENTAL CONCEPT AND NOT A LAW
OF LIFE.
I LEARN THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE LAW OF CREATION THE LAW OF LIFE.
I AM NOW DEVELOPING THE POWER AND THE ABILITY TO REALIZE IN MY OWN
LIFE THE ONE DIVINE PRINCIPLE IN, WHICH ALL SUCCESS, HAPPINESS AND
PEACE RESIDE.
AND I THANK THE INFINITE SPIRIT WITHIN ME FOR THE KNOWLEDGE OF THIS
WONDEROUS TRUTH NOW REVEALED OF MY CONSCIOUSNESS.
Read the above at intervals in order that the thought may penetrate to the Subconscious
mind, to be absorbed and established. Say it to yourself several times a day whenever
you have time and are free. Now, at the initial stage, it is not necessary for you to see
the sense of it. That will come later. All that you do now is as a child does when it sets
out to learn the Alphabet. We must start by accepting unquestioned essential truths.
e) After the foreword (as given above, properly and correctly memorized), ALLOW THE
IDEAS TO SINK DEEP INTO YOUR subconscious Mind, and take your own time. Then,
as soon as you are still again, take DENIALS given below, and in a firm low voice, not
even audible to others but you must say the words - repeat a few times the words of
the denials. There should be no hurry in all that you do during your Denials sink in. If
there is any tendency for the Mind to wander, draw it back again by repeating the words
of the Denials.
f) Now, take the Affirmation, very resolutely, and treat it in the same manner. Let the
tone be decisive, positive, and yet reverent. Then remain STILL, VERY STILL, very
peaceful and still, and let the Affirmations sink in.
g) Always sit in the same place, as already advised. You will know later on why this is
desirable. Assume a grateful mood. You have to learn in a way that you have never
learned before that the INFINITE WISDOM, of which you are a part, knows ALL.
Therefore, when you are in touch with it consciously, there is nothing that YOU cannot
know. Your connection with IT now is UNCONSCIOUS instinctive.
The Denials and Affirmations given below are to be thoroughly memorized for your
chanting (audible to you only).
DENIALS (to be memorized; recite audibly)
. I AM NOT SUBJECT TO DECAY, SICKNESS OR OLD AGE. THERE IS NO OLD
AGE THERE IS NO DECAY. I AM NOT SUBJECT TO DECAY AND OLD AGE. NOW
I AM FREE, FREE FOR EVER MORE
AFFIRMATIOIN (to be memorized; recite audibly)
THE LAW OF CREATION IS LIFEI AM LIFEGLORIOUSWONDEROUS
VIBRANT LIFEI AM YOUTHI AM BEAUTYSTRENGTHPOWERI AM FREE,
FREE, LIFELIFE.
I AM LIFE ETERNALBOUNDLESSLIMITLESSEVERLASTING NEVER
ENDINGWONDERFUL LIFEI AM FREEFREE. FREE.
While preparing for meditation, please see that the nostrils are cleared and that you
have nothing tight against the body; be reverent in your mind. Do not think that the
Denials and Affirmations are so simple to understand that you have known these all
before you are merely starting at the very beginning. You are beginning to build that
perfect Temple of the Living God and it is absolutely necessary for you to put in strong
foundations.

You are acquainted with:
a) The PRANAYAMA Breathing Exercise
b) The MEMORY DEVELOPING Breath
c) The ETHEREAL KINGDOM
d) RIGHT UNDERSTAND and
e) The technique of going into MEDITATION
Practise the following with FEELING.
CLOSE YOUR EYES. Now declare:
I AM THE MASTER OF MY OWN LIFE.IT WILL TO DO WHAT EVER I DESIRE
TO DO. Rest. Now say it again with more FEELING. THE MASTER OF MY
OWN LIFE. I WILL TO DO WHATEVER I DESIRE TO DO. Say it as if you
KNOW that you are the Master of your own life, for no one else is; say it as if you
FEEL that you know you are the Master of your own life. (Now continue). I
REJOICE I DID NOT FEEL THIS BEFORE BUT NOW I KNOW IT FEEL
WITH ALL THE POWER OF MY BEING THAT I AM THE Master of my own life
and I WILL BEGIN NOW TO TRULY LIVE IT.

Now add the following to your Meditations Affirmations.


I AM NOW DEVELOPING CREATIVE WISDOM THROUGH MY IMAGINATION
I AM CHANNEL OF CREATIVE WISDOM CREATIVE WISDOM IS THE
LIGHT OF MY MIND I AM FREE FROM ALL NEGATION.

LESSON # 5

BREATH NO.2 THE REVITALIZING BREATH (Commence with 2 breaths; gradually


increase to 7 breaths).
a) Fleet flat on the floor, heels touching and toes pointing out towards 60 degrees. Toes
not bent or curled under, Ankles and calves are gently tensed. Knees are snapped
back,
thighs are tensed, and buttocks are locked and pulled down under. Spine is straight;
shoulders are down, with freedom in the neck. The hands and arms are tensed at the
sides, to the same degree, as are the legs and the feet, with fingers touching and thumb
well out. There should be a feeling of power throughout the whole body, but no strain
anywhere.
b) This Breath, and all the Breaths, should be begun in deep reverential attitude of
mind.
EXHALE forcefully through the teeth (as in the Memory Developing Breath). Then
INHALE through the nostrils, beginning to breath down, filling the lower part of the
lungs, then the middle part, then the upper part. Then lock the breath with a big sniff
and hold it for about 30 seconds. (Do not strain). If you feel strain, you should not keep
on holding the breath.
c) EXHALE vigorously through the teeth, keeping the tension throughout the body.
d) Inhale gently and relax entirely, breathing in and out through nostrils as rhymically as
possible until ready for the next exercise, repeating, mentally your own spiritual
affirmation for this Breath.

RELAXATION EXERCISE following REVITALIZING BREATH (Breath No.2 of the 8 Key


breaths). To be memorized full.
Now we relax entirely. comings right downrelaxingrelaxing entirely as we think
of the inner, hidden meaning of these sublimely simply words:
I AM WHOLEwhole Noting is lacking nothing can be add I AM WHOLE. I AM
PERFECT. I AM STRONG. I AM POWERFUL. FULL of Power Every Cell in my body is
a complete POWER PLANT; working for me I AM POWER FULL! I AM LOVING I
am that of which the Universe is made, I AM LOVING. I AM HARMONIOUS I am in
harmony with the Laws the Eternal Enduring, Immutable, Everlasting LAWS of this
universe. I AM RICH. I AM YOUNG - and now that liquid, liquid feeling in the body, as
innumerable streams of living light are coursing down in my body. I AM HAPPY IN
LOOK HAPPY I feel happy I AM HAPPY. Now giving thanks feeling happy, I take
a little breath and a long, sweeping, sweeping sigh. Now I take another little breath, and
a quick sigh.
You must remember that this Revitalizing Breath is a key Breath. Great are must be
taken to acquire the correct posture, for all Breathing that you will ever be able to learn
in non-action of the body are based on this Breath. In other words, this is the key breath
for all breaths in non-action, as the Memory-Developing Breath is the Key Breath for all
breathings in action.

Absolute straightness of the body is desirable in this Breath. Feel the Sensations that
you experience after the breath carefully, a definitely positive feeling glorying in that
Temple of the Living God, the body. This breath has to be done seven times as in all
breaths. With the Memory-Developing-Breath firmly rooted in the mind, through sincere
practice, you will be ready for all subsequent breaths in later lessons.
The spiritual Affirmation for this breath given above should be memorized by all of us.
These are really seeds which would positively sprout and grow within you, developing
with you the conditions contemplated and expressed, exactly in proportion to the
feelings with which you say the words. Now, rest and think quietly restfully, in a
reverential attitude of mind. Think of this truth, and try to imagine the indwelling wisdom
of you telling you that you are IMMORTAL. Be still, more still then than you have been
in you whole life so far and try to listen for your answer from within.

The following is to be our first exercise for developing the POWER OF


VISUALIZATION.
NEW EXERCISE FOR VISUALIZATION:
Now, when you are in a state of perfect peace, make a slight effort of the will, without
any tension or strain that you are to CREATE THE NEW PHYSICAL YOU.

Sit calmly, with the eyes gently closed, the eyes slightly raised, as if you are looking
upward to your forehead. Do no strain. Be very still so still that does not move at all for
a long time. Then mentally state that you are about to form a beautiful
picture of your perfect wondrous self will that this beautiful picture shall come before
your eyes. Now wait and watch, perfectly still. I repeat do not strain. Soon you will see
just a little removed from the front of your eyes a picture being painted for you, so to
speak. You, say audibly (as in your Mediation) There is comes that beautiful head. I
see a strong neck. A full chest strong-arms and hands. I see MY PERFECT SELF
standing before me, powerful and strongand harmonious in every muscle Silently
watch and mentally go down through your body and note the beauty, the strength, the
youth, and the very glory of life within.

Then, IMAGINE as Great Light around your Perfect Self pictured before your Mind. You
are bathed in Light! Perhaps the light will be so strong as to seem to blind your physical
vision. Hold it. Then still very still bring that picture nearer. Say mentally to yourself
that it is coming nearer to you. Watch it. Bring it so near that you can see very part of
your beautiful body. Then bring it still nearer nearer and finally let the light sweep
down through you as the beautiful perfect picture is lost in the absorption of your mind,
the picture is full absorbed into yourself. The light will bathe you from head to foot.
Affirm that the Perfect self has now been unfolded to you and visualize the truth of this
statement in your body. You should feel a deep peace within, and when you come out
of your Meditation you should be bathed in light and happiness.

Now add the following Meditation Affirmations to those already given to you.
I AM WHOLE I AM PERFECT I AM STRONG I AM POSWERFUL I AM LOVING I AM
HARMONIOUS I AM RICH I AM YOUNG I AM HAPPY

LESSON # 6

1.FEEL this sensation of roundness and wholeness ,lose yourself within it so that
thought, as thought, ceases, and you FEEL YOURSELF IN THIS BLISSFUL STATE OF
WHOLENESS.
2. I AM PERFECT: When you are thinking of the word Perfect the sensation in the
mind is different in your meditation. Whatever the FEELING the contemplation of the
word brings, register the feeling, so that you will be able to bring back the FEELING a
any time.
3. I AM STRONG: You will get my meaning a little more clearly by illustration when
Great Guru Ding Le Mei was in the Tibetan jungles, with illness/accident/disease
dogging his footsteps all the time, he once found himself so ill that he could not get back
his strength. His Tibetan Guru had told him to wait and watch what came to the mind
when thinking of strength. So he sat and meditated, and soon there came a movement
of hisleft side, in what seemed to be the left side of the arena of his mind; then he saw a
movement he watched - then this picture down the hill he saw a movement in the
long jungle grass the moon high overhead then the movement came nearer then
from out the long grassy area he saw an ELEPHANT come long, with a man riding on
his head; then the elephant came along nearer and passed in front of his over into the
right side, and began piling teak wood. Thus he got his idea of STRENGTH. Now you
get your own symbol as you contemplate the word STRONG.
4. I AM POWERFUL: The same thing here. FEEL what power for the symbol to enter
the mind, which you see at any time thereafter.
5. I AM LOVING: Think of Love, of its changelessness, of its essence in what form it
may be presented in your mind. See whether you understand what THE LOVE OF
GOD truly means.
6. I AM HARMONIOUS: Think of harmony, rhythm, balance, and equilibrium, POISE of
the whole UNIVERSE. Think of it in the Order of Universe. But you must not let in rest
only the MIND - it must pass out of the mind into the FEELINGS, and FEELING must be
so deeply registered that it yours to do whatever you like with, at any time.
7. I AM RIGHT Think of the unfailing supply of the Universe. You are rich, and if in this
meditation it does not come to you clearly and as positively as you would like with at
any time.
8. I AM YOUNG: Imagine that the body is wholly liquid, as if it is in a liquid state from
head to feet. Imagine that thousands of innumerable streams of living light are flowing
DOWN
WARDS, so clearly can you see them because you are so still that you FEEL this
stream of light flowing all down through you, not missing one cell in the body.
9. I AM HAPPY: If we understand the INNER meaning, the HIDDEN meaning of these
words, there is nothing else to learn. Imagine that you are looking UPWARDS to the top
of your head, as if you are concentrating, and so forcing your thought up through the top
of your head. Then thoroughly relax the mind. As you have done with the body, and
imagine that every cell in the body is being charged with JOY, which is the vital fluid that
propels the forces of the very Universe.
As you are engaged in this meditation, watch the change in the FEELING of the body,
then emotional side of yourself that a contemplation of the different words conveys. You
will be amazed at the changes that will come into the emotions. These words will
become very dear to you as you think of them and the meaning that they contain, and
their deeper hidden meaning which will be made known in due course.

LESSON # 7

We shall be dealing with the 3rd Breathing Exercise the Inspirational Breath in the
present lesson, which corresponds to the Mineral Kingdom, and the 3rd step in the
Noble Eightfold Path Right Speech. The mystic word REVERENCE.

The five foods solid food, liquid food, breath, thought and rest. Each of the five must
be of the right kind, and all five are required to build a gloriously strong and capable
individual. Thought can work wonders but no without the other four essential foods.
One of these - BREATH in sufficient quality is lacking in most peoples lives. If there is
such thing as brain food, Breath is it. As your practice of Breathing Exercises and
Meditation gets established gradually you begin to see the good results.
You are requested that absolute faith and regularity in your Breathing Exercises and the
Meditation will surely reward you adequately.

LESSON # 8
BREATHE NO.3 THE INSPIRATIONAL BREATHE
(Commence with 2 breaths and later increase gradually to 7 breaths)
STAND ERECT AND SEE THAT THE SPINE IS STRAIGHT ARMS AND HANDS AT
THE SIDES.
A) Empty the lungs by a forceful exhalation through the mouth (as you are now familiar)
then take a deep inhalation.
B) As you inhale, raise the arms (rigid) slowly until the heads touch above the head
(palms outward) with the thumbs crossed and the foreigner tips touching. The inhalation
must be complete as the hands touch above the head. See that the body is rigid and full
of tension and that your hands are reaching as high as possible, but without disturbance
to your feet. (No tip toeing) Banks of hands touching.
C) Retain the breath a few seconds only say two or three seconds not more.
D) Now, lower the hands to 45 degrees (one fourth of the way down) from the
shoulders, at the same time exhaling a little air vigorously sly through the mouth (as in
the earlier two exercises). Then lower your arms, level with the shoulder (i.e. half way
down from the top), and vigorously exhaling a little more, at the same time). Then lower
the hands again a little (three quarter way down from top) letting out a little more air, but
with the chest as firm as rock all the time. Then lower the hands to the sides, thoroughly
emptying the lungs and pressing in hand with abdomen. Remember buttocks firm.
Then inhale and exhale normally through the nostrils and relax the completely. When
you feel relaxed and comfortable, start the same exercise again until you complete
seven times likewise.

AFTER DOING THE ABOVE EXERCISE 7 times, keeping the hands at the sides and in
deep devotional attitude of mind - the body now completely relaxed, repeat the following
affirmation for this breath with FEELING.

Now, we relax entirelycoming right down.relaxing the whole body ---

I THANK THREE LORD, for My Body I thank Thee, LAW.the Eternal, everlasting,
Unchangeable, Changeless, Immutable Law of my Being for my Body.
MY BODY - the transcendentally beautiful, the Infinitely Intricate, and the Most
Gloriously accurate Instrument in the Universe.
MY BODY the temple, the temple of the Living God, the temple of the God that lives
within me that is alive within me.
I stand in reverence before the Wisdom pent up in the very substance of My Body and
I pledge myself, I VOW that from this moment henceforward nothing that I shall do or
say or think shall injure or abuse this temple of the living god MY BODY.
And now feeling happy, giving thanks I take a little breath and long, deep, sweeping,
sweeping sigh and now I take another little breath, and a quick.
You may practice a few times the above Breathing exercise without full breathing so as
to become familiar with the procedure. It is important that you follow the procedure
carefully.

After the exercise, relax entirely, and take the above spiritual affirmation (which you will
have to thoroughly memorize) and FEEL within yourself not merely intellectually
following the words alone.

Now, what is this CREATIVENESS?

Let us look at this Creativeness, the creative spirit and, as we do so, we are compelled
to see three things.
FIRST that IT IS EVERYWHERE PRESENT you cannot imagine it not being
everywhere.
SECOND - that IT IS INTELLIGENT wise, because IT KNOWS HOW.
THIRD that IT IS ALL POWERFULL - it has the Power to do all things.
Do not hurry over this part of the lesson. Spend some time just reading and re-re3ading
and thinking on these essentially simple truths of all life in the Universe. We may think a
long time, or for a short while about all this but no matter what else may come to our
minds, we shall have to admit that these three aspects of this CREATIVENESS
EMERGE
viz:
IMNIPRESENCE: present in all places at one and the same time.
OMNISCIENCE: the faculty of knowing everything; knowledge unbounded, infinite.
OMNIPOTENCE: unlimited or infinite power. Almighty power, all power. We see, then,
that these aspects of God Omnipresence, Omniscience and Omnipotence are
everywhere in the Universe. There is not a single embodiment of life in which they are
not existent. These three aspects comprise a TRIUNIE ACTIVITY, which is the ORIGIN
OF ALL THINGS. This beautiful Truth is placed before you here as simple as possible.
Get your own ideas about it.
WE HAVE FOUND GOD! Rest a little. Be happy. Let the truth of the above revelation
sink within as you FEEL the truth, the truth of your own Life as well. Can you feel
something within you that is stirred? Can you feel that your imagination is at work for
you may not have thought about this Creativeness that Universal, in this way before?
Feel happy

YOU CAN NOW TRUTHFULLY AFFIRM THAT WHATEVER THE CREATOR IS, I AM.
Having come so far in our lessons, realizing the TRUTH embodied therein, you will now
be able to reconcile the meaning contained in the Sanskrit chanting AHAMBRAHMA
ASMI or BRAHMAIVAHAM ASMI meaning INAM THECREATOR or WHATEVER
THE CREATOR IS I AM There are many ways through which this great truth will come
into the Mind but it is best for you to think about it personally and then figure it all out, in
the way that is natural and best to do so. All that we are doing is to find out what LIFE
is, what the Origin of Life is, and what the Continuation of Life is what it is that causes
it all. We may think in this way. We can see that there is One Organizing center of Life,
and all comes from it Everything in the three Kingdoms the MINARAL, the
VEGETABLE, and the ANIMAL Kingdoms. It is easy to see that every living thing lives
by its breath. I do, you do. You can see that your Breath IS your life. You can see that
this TRUTH is UNIVERSAL and if we understanding our breath, then, we shall
understand ourselves.

LESSON # 9
CHEMICAL SUBSTANCE. You can see that every part of this substance contains within itself
some degree of intelligence. You can also see that this Intelligence is what we all GOD. This
chemical substance is indestructible. Thought is chemistry, and all that we can know will be
madeknown to us through the chemistry of THOUGHT. While we know that we think, few of us
knowwhat Thought is, and it is difficult for any teacher precisely to teach what it is though we
can all see that we have at our command and do use a SUBSTANCE when we think for we
cannot think with NOTHING. We have see that every Living Thing (and there is no such a thing
as a deadthink speaking chemically, for there is no place where Life is not) has an
embodiment; there must be the embodiment through which the Spirit, through which Life, must
express itself. Some embodiments
can be seen and felt; some others, subtler, cannot be see and felt.
MIND SUBSTANCE is one of these subtle substances that cannot be put under a microscope
and investigated. MIND SUBSTANCE IS EVERYWHERE. It is universal and omnipresent. You
have your idea of Prana. Well Mind-substance may be likened to Prana in the sense that it is
found everywhere in the Universe. The sum total is fixed and cannot be added to or taken away
form and therefore it is unchangeable. Mind substance can be regarded, as a higher phase of
Energy or Matter, just as Matter may be considered as a grosser form of Mind-substance or
Energy.
We have to regard Mind-substance as the thing by which is set into operation the Energy that
causes Matter to be in Motion. We can only know mind-substance by the results Thoughts,
Thoughtforms, etc.
Meditation will surely reward you adequately. PRACTICE THESE EXERCES AND MEMORISE
THE MEDITATIONAL AFFIRMATIONS AND DENIALS so that you enjoy abundant health and
successful in all your endeavors.
LET THERE BE PEACE EVERYWHERE LOKA SAMASTHA SUKHINO BAVANTHU.

LESSON # 10

BREATHE NO.4 THE PHYSICAL PERFECTION BREATHE
(Commence with two breaths increase gradually to seven breaths)
Stand erect heels together, the toes apart, spine straight and tighten your back (bottom) and
feet
firmly on the ground.
a) Extend your arms up level with your shoulders straight in front of you with fists clenched, and
thumbs out. The arms comfortably firm but not too rigid. See that you are standing firmly on your
feet, with a sense that you are gripping the floor, and have your body perfectly straight and firm.
Exhale vigorously through (teeth closed) the mouth.
b) Inhale a complete breath. Retain your breath.
c) Standing very firmly, swing the arms back as far as they will go, not bending them, so that
you stretch the chest, the arms gradually getting more and more rigid as you swing them back.
Bring them to the front again, seeing that you allow no breath to escape. Do this three times.
Then bring the arms quickly to your sides, open fists with all fingers touching each other and
exhale vigoursly (through the mouth as in the earlier exercise), inhale and relax. Repeating
mentally your own spiritual affirmations for the breath as given below:

And now, relaxing entirely, relaxing the whole body we prepare ourselves to think of the
Greatest
Thought we ever shall be to think
WHATEVER THE CREATOR IS I AM
The Creator is right here right in the Heart of Me right in the Substance of Me. Right in the
Mind of Me Right in the Being of Me.
REVEAL THYSELF, O LOLRD OF MY LIFE COME I WAIT, I LISTEN, I LOOK WITHIN ME I
AM STILL NOW I WILL TO SEE THE GREATOR AT WORK WITHIN THE TEMPLE AS
GIVING THANKS FEELING HAPPY, EVER SO GENTLY WITHOUT LETTING MYSELF KNOW
IT. I TAKE A LITTLE BREATH AND GENTLY A LONG DEEP SWEEPING SIGH. AND NOW I
TAKE ANOTHER LITTLE BREATH AND A QUICK SIGH AND I SIT DOWN QUIETLY.
The above is for your morning practice. Now, given below are Meditation Affirmations, which
youare required to add to your regular Meditations at night (or early morning, according to your
convenience).

MEDITGATION AFFIRMATIONS:
HENCEFORTH AND FOREVER I THE CREATIVE SPIRIT DIFFERENTIATED FROM ALL
OTHER LIFE FORMS EMBODY MYSELF IN PERFECT BEAUTY STRENGTH AND HEALTH. I
AM IMPERISHABLE. I AM INDIVISIBLE. I AM EXHAUSTLESS. I AM THE CREATIVE SPIRIT
EMBODIED. I AM LIFE ETERNAL.I AM IN ETERNITY NOW RIGHT HERE.I AM ETERNAL
NOW, RIGHT NOW. ETERNAL LIFE. I AM LIFE ETERNAL.

While in the silent, relaxed conditions your body and mind as you start saying audibly the
affirmation I AM HEALTH - you make yourself completely receptive to the feelings of vibrations
and vivid imagination (visualization) and see before your Mind this glorious picture of yourself in
all perfection (think healthy hair a beautiful face serene, unlined and happy a strong neck
and a powerful chest strong arms and hands) a light around is BATHED in intense light. It is
now coming nearer nearer. So near the light nearly blinds you and YOU FEEL IT FULLY AND
PLEASANTLY FLOODING YOU FROM HEAD TO FOOT (do not think this far fetched) just
sit and contemplate it. Imagine it you surely can IMAGINE a light as you sit doing this mental
exercise quietly and silently, you are to learn later on in these lessons that what you are doing is
absolutely according to TRUTH Only you do not know WHY at the moment. There is no
reason why you should not learn the HOW AND SO OPERATE THE LAW. Practice brings
that beautiful perfect picture, before your mind- (as many times as possible each day). LIVE
IT. Then, when you see and feel this Light, REALIZE that YOU ARE HEALTH. You may break
out in perspiration through the heat from the Great Light the Divine Light within. Then impress
your Mind with the wonderful Truth that, if it was possible for other men/women (human beings),
just like you, with no knowledge of the art of Living, to live to great age, in perfect health and
vigor, then I the real I, can live as long as I desire and retain my vigor and grow continually in
knowledge and power and achievement. So, when we acquire this knowledge and YOU WILL
ACQUIRE IT IN DUE TIME, NEVER FEAR. Among these we are to classify senility, which
Science proves is no disease at all, but due to a CHEMICAL CHANGE IN THE BODY which
can be known and controlled.
WE ARE NOW LEARNING THE ART OF LIVING, of REMAINING YOUNG AND EXPRESSING
LIFE. In later lessons you will be duly instructed as to how you can accomplish this.
INTER- RELATION OF BODY AND MIND
