Introduction/ hook (10 minutes) Students will be introduced to the new information and
review past information by answering the daily warm up question about the Islamic prophet
Muhammad and the Islamic beliefs we have already discussed (five pillars). We will then have a
class discussion about the answers to the warm and review the information from previous lessons
on Muhammad and the five pillars of Islam.

Lesson (teacher) (30 minutes) Teacher will then instruct the class that we will participating in
a gallery walk about the different Islamic beliefs. Teacher will review the instructions for a
gallery walk and how students should act during this activity. They will have clear expectations
on their voice levels as well. Teacher will be walking around during the activity making sure
students are on track and monitoring them. Teacher will time the activity and each group will get
6 minutes at each station. Teacher will instruct students on how and when to move from station
to station. At the end of the activity teacher will instruct students to go back to their original seats
and complete the reflection on the activity. Next the teacher will lead a class discussion
reviewing the answers from the gallery walk and the reflection assignment.

Lesson (student) (30 minutes) Students will demonstrate their understanding of the Islamic
beliefs, understand new material and practice reading/ comprehending primary sources by
participating in a gallery walk. Student will first listen to teacher instructions and expectations.
Next they will get into their groups of four and review the questions on the answer sheet with
their peers. Once the teacher instructs the class to begin, students will begin looking over the
station questions that they are starting at and figuring out the correct answers to put on their
answer sheets (they will have six minutes at each station). Once they have completed the
questions for that station, they will check their responses with one another. Next students will
wait for the timer to go off and teacher instruction to move with their group to the next station.
Station 1s will go to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4, 4 to 5, 5 to 6, 6 to 7, 7 to 8, 8 to 9 and 9 back to station 1.
Once each group has been to each station, students will wait for teacher instruction to go back to
their original seats and complete their reflections. Once reflections are completed, students will
direct their attention back to the teacher and wait for the teacher to direct a class discussion
reviewing the correct answers from the gallery walk. Students will participate by raising their
hands to answer questions or respond to a peers comment.

verbally share their responses to the reflection questions on top of writing them down in their

Appropriate strategies for adapting/differentiating/modifying content/instruction/

assessment:
Some strategies for modifying this assignment are appropriate student grouping, added sentence
frames, vocabulary words easily available and allowed out for students to use, sentence starters
allowed out and allowed out for students to use, and student aides (I have two within this class).
