Sharing the Life of God

With Others

Through FellowshipAndre P. Llewellyn©2010

" Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not
quickly broken."

Ecc.4:12
Fellowship is personal. The local church
can be called a fellowship because it is
really made up of believers who are
actively relating and growing with each
other. With that said, every local church
has at least three kinds of ‘fellowshipers’
that fellowships in one way or the other.
Which are you?
‘ISOLATIONIST’
Believer hardly
interested in
relationship with
anyone at church or
involvement in
anything outside
Saturday/Sunday
worship.
‘INTERACTIONIST’
Believer interested in
church events and
activities but barely
seeks to build
relationships with
members beyond the
surface.
‘INTEGRATIONIST’
Believer actively
involved in church life
and interested in
building meaningful
relationship with
members.
Believers who seek to actively share
the life of God with others through
fellowship will greatly benefit by
building three types of relationships.
Each believer should strive to have
PAUL, BARNABAS, and a TIMOTHY
relationships throughout their spiritual
journey.
PAUL
Paul represents a mentor. This is usually
someone who, from his/her spiritual and
life experiences, models godly
character and discipline, and builds
them into your life. He/she earns your
trust enough to probe the sensitive
areas of your life and is committed to
challenging you and walking with you
through the difficult times.

BARNABAS
Barnabas is a partner. He was used of
God to bring Paul out of Antioch and
into a fruitful ministry. Both men traveled
together side by side experiencing and

Paul speaks more about Timothy than
anyone else. He begins as a young
disciple who is known through out the
region and is recommended to Paul
(Acts 16:1-3). Over the course of their
lives together he becomes an apostolic
church leader in Ephesus.
TIMOTHY
Timothy represents someone who we,
through relationship and trust, provide
spiritual guidance. This is generally
someone in whom we invest our time
and resources with the aim of
developing them into Christ-like
maturity.
