Hierarchy and Orders

First Sphere Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones

Seraphim

Seraphim (plural; singular form is Seraph) Isaiah saw the Seraphim in his famous vision. They
stood above Jehovah as He sat on His throne (Isaiah. 6:2; 6). They are divine creatures from the
Old Testament, associated with the Cherubim, and later taken to be angels. The root of Seraphim
comes either from the Hebrew verb seraph (to burn) or the Hebrew noun seraph (a fiery, flying
serpent). Because the term appears several times with reference to the serpents encountered in
the wilderness (Num. 21.8, Deut. 8.15; Isaiah 14.29; 30.6), it has often been understood to refer
to fiery serpents. From this some suggest that the Seraphim were snake-like in form and in
some sense fiery creatures or associated with fire.

They dwell in the presence of God and cleave to Him, and are immediately united to Him. They
receive revelations of God before the other angels and then relate such information to them.

We identify them with the fire of healing and love. Each Seraph radiates powerful light a light
so powerful that the Thrones and Cherubim cannot look at them. It is said that anyone who lays
eyes on a Seraph would instantly be incinerated due to its immense brightness (Isaiah
notwithstanding). They are described as tall, with six wings and four heads, one for of the
cardinal directions. They use one pair of wings to fly, one to cover their eyes (a token of
humility), and one to cover their feet (a token of respect). They stand in the direct presence of
God. They bear a general resemblance to the human figure in some aspects. Writers other than
Isaiah describe them with a face, voice, feet, and hands. In this way, they passed from Jewish
tradition to Christianity as angels.
They remain close to the Throne of God. In fact, they serve as caretakers of Gods throne and
are always in His presence. They circle the Throne in perpetual adoration of God. Some scholars
describe them as angels of unadulterated love, light and fire. The Seraphim that Isaiah saw
hovered above and on both sides Gods throne, forming two opposite choirs and presenting
antiphonal worship. Their occupation was two-fold: to celebrate the praises of Jehovahs
holiness and power and to act as the medium of communication between heaven and earth. From
their antiphonal chant (one called out to another) we may picture them ranging in opposite
rows on each side of the throne.

Cherubim

Cherubim Name signifies fullness of knowledge. God often dispatches them to the physical
realm to do specific tasks such as the expulsion of man from the Garden of Eden and the
Annunciation of Christ. They remain on duty at the entrance of the Garden of Eden in order that
man cannot find his way toParadiseto eat from the Tree of Life.
God directed Moses to place two golden Cherubim on the top of the Ark of the Covenant, where
they are fastened to the Mercy Seat, and, facing each other, stretched out their wings so as to
form a screen over the seat. Cherubim were also woven into or embroidered upon the inward
curtain of the Tabernacle, and later the veil that opens into the Holy of Holies in
theTempleproper.

Solomon instructed two Cherubim to be placed in the firstTemple. They were made of olive
wood, overlaid with gold. They had bodies ten cubits high, and stood on their feet like men.
Length of their wings was five cubits.

They are filled by participation in Divine Wisdom, and through them, lesser orders of angels
receive knowledge and wisdom. Their name means, Streams of Wisdom.
Thrones

Thrones Lesser known group of angels, but as important. They are exempt from and untainted
by any base and earthly things. Because of their high rank, they are worthy of fellowship with
Jesus Christ and possess the highest knowledge that angels can have of the works of God. In
fact, some say that the very essence of Gods Spirit is conveyed to and through these angels,
who then pass on the message to men and/or lower classes of angels.

Thrones are known to be involved with justice in the heavens, and are some of the most
powerful angels in service to God. Their primary function is to carry out or fulfill the divine
justice of God. They have the ability to channel the energy and purpose of God and transmit that
message to others. Because they retain such a high position and responsibility, they come closest
of all angels to spiritual perfection.
Second Sphere Dominions, Virtues, Powers

Dominions

Dominions Some sources refer to them as the Hashmallim. Their primary function that God
delegates to them is the task of regulating the duties of lower angels. As their name implies these
angels present order to the lower ranks and will on occasion make themselves known to man.
They preside over nations. The Dominions are believed to look like divinely beautiful humans
with a pair of feathered wings, much like the common representation of Angels, but they may be
distinguished from other groups by wielding orbs of light fastened to the heads of their scepters
or on the pommel of their swords. They are purified, illuminated and perfected by the divine
Illuminations bestowed on them in a secondary manner through the first order of angels.

Virtues
Virtues Responsible for the maintenance of the physical universe. Their primary duty is to
supervise the movements of the heavenly bodies in order to ensure that the cosmos remains in
order. They possess great strength and appear to be workhorses of the angels.

Powers

Powers Some sources list Powers as the bearers of conscience and the keepers of history. They
sometimes serve as warrior angels, fiercely loyal to God. Some believe that no Power has ever
fallen from grace, but another theory states that Satan was the Chief of the Powers before his
fall. They work diligently to oversee the distribution of power among humankind, hence their
name.

Third Sphere Principalities, Archangels, Angels

Principalities

Principalities We usually see these entities wearing a crown and carrying a scepter. Their duty
also is to carry out the orders given to them by the Dominions and grant blessings to the material
world. They oversee groups of people. As beings related to the world of the ideas, they inspire
living things to many branches of knowledge such art and/or science.
Archangels
Archangels We know Archangels from the Bible, but we dont know as much as we may
think. We usually associate these chief angels as the great heralds of good news, announcing
the great and most glorious. According to Dionysius the Areopagite, their principle service
consists in revealing prophecies, knowledge, and understanding of Gods will, which they
receive from the higher orders of angels and announce to the lower order ( the angels), and
through them, to men. St. Gregory says that the Archangels strengthen people in the holy faith,
enlightening their minds with the light of knowledge of the holy Gospel and revealing the
mysteries of devout faith.

Archangels govern affairs of the messengers of the various realms. Their presence on earth
usually signals great change. They can take human form and can cause occurrences or change
the tide of events for/on behalf of humanity. They are perhaps the most confusing of the Angelic
Orders in that we often use their rank for other angelic beings. In addition, they are among the
few angelic beings mentioned specifically by name in the New Testament (See Jude 1:9 where
the Archangel Michael contends with Satan over the body of Moses). Gabriel, although not
specifically named anArchangelin the Scriptures, is generally regarded as such in Christian
thought.

Angels

Angels Messengers that commune with various life forms within the physical worlds. This
Order includes guardian angels of mankind, and as such, are the most accessible angels to
humans. They are more properly named angels by humans than those of higher rank because
their Order is more directly in contact with humans.

We see them as spirit beings that exist to fulfill the tasks given to them by God. As their name
suggests, they are chiefly messengers of God and/or higher Orders of angels. In Muslim
tradition, two angels are assigned to each person at birth. One angel records the persons good
deeds while the second records bad deeds.

In Psalms, we learn the concept of guardian angels:

For He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee
up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Psalms 91: 11, 12.

Abstract: Since times immemorial the concept of angels has fascinated humankind. Angels
appear in religious, mythological and other literature across all cultures. They are invariably
depicted with wings. Many people pray to angels. We conducted spiritual research on various
aspects of angels with the help of extrasensory perception (ESP) or sixth sense. Through our
findings using spiritual research methodology, this article demystifies the topic of angels and
offers fresh insight into them.

1. Introduction

Through spiritual research methodology we have studied the various aspects of angels. This
article answers many frequently asked questions on angels and provides insight into the world of
angels. We have also provided drawings based on subtle-knowledge of some of the various
forms of angels as actually seen through subtle vision or sixth sense.

2. What are angels?

Angels have existed since the beginning of creation. They are beings from the lower part of the
subtle-region of Heaven (Swarga). They are the lowest in the hierarchy of positive subtle beings.
Their primary purpose is to act as messengers for lower level deities in the lower subtle region of
Heaven. Deities speak in the language of light whereas we humans speak in the language of
sound. Angels therefore act as step-down transformers carrying messages from lower level
deities to deserving beings in a language they can understand. This is primarily through the
medium of putting thoughts in their minds. By deserving beings, we mean humans on Earth and
subtle bodies in the Nether region (Bhuvarlok) who have some background of spiritual practice
or merits. The messages are generally about how to address a particular worldly issue. About 5%
of the time angels themselves also give worldly advice. As their duty is mainly on Earth, most of
them are Earthbound. When they are not delivering messages they lead a life devoted to
experiencing pleasures in the lower subtle region of Heaven.

3. What are the various types of angels?

There are in all some 30 varieties of angels. We have shown some of the more popular types of
angels and their corresponding spiritual level in the table below.
The reason for the variety of angels is that each one operates at a different frequency. This allows
them to relay messages to the multitude of human personalities who match their frequencies the
best.

3.1 What is the spiritual level of angels?

[en-Samashti spiritual level]

Most angels fall between 29-34% spiritual level. The minimum spiritual level for humans to
make it to Heaven (Swarga) after death is 50% (samashi) or ((60% (vyashi). Despite their
comparatively low spiritual level, angels reside in the lower part of the subtle region of Heaven.
Just as on Earth along with humans we have other animal species and the plant kingdom of lower
spiritual levels, so also in Heaven, along with subtle bodies of humans with higher spiritual
levels and lower level deities, we have angels.

3.2 Drawings based on subtle-knowledge and brief description of some types of angels

The following drawings based on subtle-knowledge of angels have been drawn by Mrs. Yoya
Vallee, a seeker of the Spiritual Science Research Foundation (SSRF) who is able to see the
spiritual realm just as we see the physical realm. The drawings based on subtle-knowledge have
been verified by His Holiness Dr. Athavale for correctness.

Please also refer to the article on What do we mean by drawings based on subtle-knowledge?
Note: Any drawing based on subtle-knowledge can be influenced by ghosts (demons, devils,
negative energies, etc.). We have put a protective border around all the drawings based on
subtle-knowledge of angels to protect against any influence of negative energies while the
seeker with sixth sense perceives and transcribes the drawing based on subtle-knowledge for us.

3.3 How is it that the types of angels shown above do not have wings?

Angels have traditionally been depicted having wings. However spiritual research conducted by
SSRF has revealed that only 30% of angels have wings. 70% of angels do not have wings. The
30% of angels that have wings are of the lowest order of angels. They communicate with human
beings regarding fulfilment of very low worldly desires. The higher angels do not have wings.

Video: The above drawings based on subtle-knowledge of angels have been seen and drawn by a
seeker who does spiritual practice under the guidance of SSRF. The following is an excerpt of an
interview with Mrs. Yoya Vallee while she was creating the drawings based on subtle-
knowledge of angels.

Yoya is speech and hearing impaired and so the video has subtitles. (To view this video you need
a recent version of the Adobe Flash Player. Click here to download the latest version.)

3.4 Influence of ghosts in drawings based on subtle-knowledge

Quite often negative energies pose as angels and misguide people and create illusory forms of
angels with wings. In this way quite often ghosts (demons, devils, negative energies, etc.) try to
mislead people who have psychic ability. As many psychics guide society, negative energies
mislead psychics who in turn unintentionally mislead the people they are guiding. It is for this
reason that in 90% of cases when the average psychic sees an angel, it is generally a ghost.
Hence it is very important for a person with subtle vision to verify their drawings based on
subtle-knowledge with a spiritual guide of the spiritual level of at least 70%.

3.5 What are guardian angels?

There is no such thing as a guardian angel. Some ancestors who have deep affinity for the family
communicate to help their family members regarding worldly matters. These departed ancestors
may be mistaken for the guardian angels. Ancestors within the range of spiritual level between
20-30% can help only about deriving worldly pleasures. Only those ancestors above the spiritual
level of 50% can help regarding spiritual progress.

3.6 Are angels male or female?

Angels can be either male or female. Only subtle entities and subtle bodies above the subtle
region of Heaven, i.e. in Mahaloka etc. due to their high spiritual level of over 60%
( samashti) or 70% ( vyashti) do not identify themselves with any gender.
3.7 What is the composition of angels as per the subtle basic components?

The percentage proportion of the three subtle basic

components in angels is given in the chart on the right hand side.

Refer to the article on what is Sattva, Raja and Tama, the 3 subtle basic components of the
universe.

4. Other frequently asked questions about angels

4.1 Can we see angels?

As angels are subtle-beings they are not visible to the ordinary human eye. They do not appear
before us. They can be seen only with the help of advanced and activated extrasensory
perception (ESP) or sixth sense. Their mechanism of communication with us (humans) is
through putting thoughts in our mind.

4.2 How many angels are there?

There are innumerable angels.

4.3 How close are angels to God?

Considering the relatively low spiritual level of angels (i.e. 29-34%), they are very far from God.
(One has to be near 100% spiritual level to be close to God.)

4.4 Do angels have the power to answer our prayers as in fulfilling our worldly wishes?

No, angels do not have the capacity to answer prayers, i.e. they cannot bestow any favour or get
anything done for humans on their own. At the most they can guide people with regard to
worldly matters by putting thoughts in their minds. This happens about 5% of the time.

4.5 When we pray to angels if they dont answer then who answers the prayer?

The prayers are answered either by our departed ancestors or ghosts. However in their eternal
quest to gain control over humans in order to exploit them or to satisfy their cravings, ghosts or
ancestors take advantage of the prayer to ingratiate themselves to the person by satisfying his
small wish. However, in the process of fulfilling his wish they engulf the person in their black
energy. This then enables them to acquire control over the person and cause distress to him.
Refer to the article on, Why would my departed loved ones and my other ancestors want to give
me pain?

4.6 Do angels protect us from negative energies?

Angels due to their low spiritual level cannot fight with even lower level ghosts and hence
cannot protect us.

4.7 Are angels worthy of worship?

They cannot answer our prayers to help us with spiritual growth. Hence they are not worthy of
worship.

5. In summary

Angels are the lowest in the positive subtle hierarchy in the Universe. Their only function is to
deliver messages for lower level deities in the subtle-region of Heaven to deserving humans or
subtle-bodies in the nether region.
As they cannot guide us spiritually nor protect us from negative energies, they are not worthy of
worship.
Invariably ghosts (demons, devils and negative energies, etc.) take advantage of humankinds
fascination for angels. They take the form of angels to misguide psychics who in turn
unintentionally misguide society.
The Hierarchy of Angels
St Dionysius the Aeropagite, a student of the Apostle Paul, had recorded what Paul had told
him of his vision of the third heaven (2Cor 12:2).

The following is from the Minea of St Dimitry of Rostov and appeared in the
November/December 1968 issue of Orthodox Life. This is taken from a reprint included in
the booklet _Orthodox Teachings on the Holy Angels_ compiled by Fr Demetrius Serfes (It
may still be available through St John of Kronstadt Press)

The nine orders of the angels are divided into three heirarchies, each of which is divided into
three orders: the highest, the intermediate, the lower.

The first hierarch, the highest and closest to the Most Holy Trinity, consists of the
SERAPHIM, CHERUBIM, and THRONES.

The God-loving six-winged SERAPHIM stand closer than all before their Creator and Mker, as
the prophet Isaiah saw, saying: "And the seraphim stood around Him, each having six
wings" (Isaiah 6:2). They ar fire-like since they stand before That One of Whom it is
written: "For our God is a consuming fire." (Heb 12:29); "His throne was a flame of fire"
(Dan 7:9); "the appearance of the Lord was like a blazing fire" (Ex 24:17). Standing before
such glory, the seraphim are fire-like, as it said: "Who maketh his angels spirits; his
ministers a flaming fire" (Ps 103:4). They are aflame with love for God and kindle others to
such love, as i shown by their very name, for "seraphim" in the Hebrew language means:
"flaming".

After the seraphim, before the All-knowing God, Who resides in inaccessable light, stand the
many-eyeed CHERUBIM in ineffable radiance. More than the other lower orders of angels,
they are always radiant with the light of th knowledge of God, with the knowledge of the
mysteries of God and the depths of His Wisdom; being themselves enlightened, they
enlighten others. Their name "cherubim" in translation from the Hebrew language, means:
"great understanding" or "effusion of wisdom", because throught the cherubim wisdom is
sent down to tohers and enlightenment of the spiritual eyes is given for the seeing of God
and knowledge of God.

Thereafter stand the God-bearing THRONES (as St Dionysius the Areopagite calls them)
before Him Who sits on the high and exulted throne, being named "thrones" since on them,
as on inctellectual thrones (as writes St Maximus the Confessor) God intellectually resides.
They are not called "God bearing" according to essence but according to grace and
according to their office, as the flesh of Jesus Christ (as St Basil the Great writes) is called
"God-bearing" according to essence since it was indivisibly united with God the Word
Himself. The thrones are then called "God-bearing" not according to essence but according o
grace, given for their service, which is mystically and incomprehensibley to bear God in
themselves. Residing on them in an incomprehensible manner, God makes His righteous
judgement, according to the word of David: "Thou hast sat upon a throne, O Thou that
judgest righteousness." (Ps 9:4). Therefore through them the justice of God is pre-
eminently manifesed; they erve His justice, glorifying it and pour out the power of justice
onto the thrones of earthly judges, helping kings and masters to bring forth right
judgement.
The middle hierarchy also consists of three orders of holy angels: the DOMINIONS, the
VIRTUES, and the POWERS.

The DOMINIONS are so nemed because, being themselves free, they dominate over the rest
of the angels which follow behind them. Having abandoned servile fear, as St Dionysius the
Aeropagite says, they voluntarily and with joy serve God unceasingly. Also they send down
power for prudent governing and wise management to authorities on the earth set up by
God. Further they teach how to control the senses, how to subdue in oneself dissolute
desires and passions, how to enslave the flesh to the spirit, and how to rule over one's will
and be above all temptations.

The VIRTUES, [the usual translation of the name of this order of angels as "virtues" is
readily misleading if the old meaning of the word "virtue" as "power" or "force", especially
as regards to divine beings (cf Oxford English Dictionary), is not remembered. Note of
translator.] filled with divine strength, quickly fulfill the will of the All-High and Omnipotent
Lord, strong and powerful. They both work very great miracles and send down the grace of
miracle-working to God's saints, who are worthy of such grace, in order that these may
work miracles, such as heal every sickness and foretell the future. The holy virtues also help
people laboring and those overburdened by the bearing of an obedience placed on them by
someone - by which their names "virtues" is explained - and they bear the infirmities of the
weak. They also strengthen every man in patience, so that he does not faint away in
affliction but rather bears all misfortune with a strong spirit, courageously, and with
humility, giving thanks for everything to God, arranging all for our benefit.

The POWERS are so called because they have power over the devil, in order to restrain the
power of the demons, to repulse the temptations brought upon people by them, and to
prevent the demons from harming anyone to the degree that they would wish. The powers
strengthen the good ascetics in spiritual struggles and labors, protecting them so that they
may not be deprived of the spiritual kingdom. They help thos wrestling with passions and
vices to cast out evil thoughts and slanders of the enemy and to conquer the devil.

In the lowest hierarchy there are also three orders: the PRINCIPALITIES, the ARCHANGELS,
and the ANGELS.

The PRINCIPALITIES are named thus because they have command over the lower angels,
directing them to the fulfilment of divine orders. The management of the universe and the
keeping of all the kingdoms and princedoms, of lands and all peoples, races and nations, is
also entrusted to them since each kingdom, race and people have for themselves a special
deeper and manager from the heavenly order called the principalities, for all their country.
Further, the service of this angelic order (according to the explanation of St Gregory the
Dialogist) consists in teaching the people to requite each person in authority according to
his calling. Finally, the angels of this order raise worthy people to various honorable offices
and direct them so that they take power not for the sake of their own gain and benefit, nor
for the sake of love of honr and vain renown, but for the sake of honor from God, for the
sake of spreading and augmenting of His holy glory, and for the sake of the benefit of their
neighbors - as serving the general needs of all their subordinates.
The ARCHANGELS are called the great heralds of good news, announcing the great and
most glorious. Their service (as the great Dionysius the Aeropagite says) consists in
revealing prophecies, knowledge, and understanding of God's will which they receive from
the higher orders of angels and announce to the lower order, ie. the angels, and through
them, to men. St Gregory the Dialogist says that the archangels strengthen people in the
holy faith, enlightening their mind with the light of knowledge of the holy Gospel and
revealing the mysteries of devout faith.

The ANGELS are the lowest of all the orders in the heavenly hierarchy and the closest to
man. They aannounce the lesser mysteries and intentions of God and teach people to live
virtuously and righteously before God. They are appointed to guard each of us who believe:
they sustain virtuous people from fallen, and never leave us though we have sinned, but are
always ready to help us, if only we ourselves want it.

All of the heavenly orders are also called by the common name "angels". Although they
have different names according to their situation and grace given by God (as seraphim,
cherubim, thrones and the rest of the orders), yet all in general are called angels, because
the word "angel" is not a denomination of essence, but of service, as it is written: "Are they
not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister" (Heb 1:14). But their service is different
and not identical: each order has its own service; for the All-Wise Creator does not reveal
the mystery of His design to all to the same degree, but from the one to the others, through
the higher He enlightens the lower, revealing to them His will and commanding it to be as in
the book of the Prophet Zachariah. There it is said that one angel, after conversing with the
prophet, met another angel who ordered him to go again to the prophet and reveal the
future fate of Jerusalem: "And behold, the angel that talked with me went forth and another
angel went out to meet him, and said unto him, Run, speak to thes young man (that is, the
prophet Zachariah), saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the
multitude of mena and cattle therein: For I, saith the Lord will be unto her a wall of fire
round about" (Zach 2:3-5).

Deliberating about this, St Gregory the Dialogist says, "When one angel says to the other:
'Run speak to this young man' there is no doubt that certain angels send others, that the
lower ones are sent, that the higher send" (St Gegory the Dialogist, Interpretation of the
Gospels, #4).

We find exactly the same thing in the prophecy of Daniel, that one angel orders another to
interpret the vision to the prophet. From this it is evident that angels of higher orders reveal
the divine will and intention of their Creator to angels of the lower orders, that they
enlighten them and send them to people.

Angel Hierarchy: Hierarchy of Angels

The classes of angels, as traditionally taught, are identified for your
reference.

Angel hierarchy, the order of the classes of angels by rank, has been debated clear back to the
beginnings of Christianity.

However, the Hebrew hierarchy of angels has been established for millennia.

Who is correct? It seems that the 'angel choirs' will vary depending upon what religious view one
subscribes to as there are discrepancies between which classes of angels belong to what choirs;
even the names differ for what are most likely the same types of angels.

We can only hope that the following angel hierarchies will help you sort out the traditional view
of angel class and rank.

Hebrew Angel Hierarchy

Understand that traditional Hebrew beliefs teach the existence of seven heavens with each
heaven being guarded by various angels. Those seven heavens are named:

Shamayim
Raqua
Shehaqim
Machonon
Mathey
Zubul
Araboth

The following are Hebrew rankings of angels, from the highest down to the lowest:

Hayyoth
Ophanim
Erelim
Hasmalim
Elohim
Bene Elohim
Cherubim
Issim

Christian Angel Hierarchy

As previously mentioned, there were arguments within the newly formed Christian church about
angel hierarchy between its earliest theologians. This was a new religion, and such topics were
hotly contested. Even today, the Bible gives us angel types but offers no mention of angel
heirarchies or rank, hence, the differences within Christianity.

The following are the various classes of angels mentioned without any classification: angels,
archangels, principalities, powers, dominions, virtues, thrones, cherubim and seraphim.

Over a period of hundreds of years, church leaders, such as St. Thomas Aquinas, began
eventually subscribing to the 'Pseudo-Dionysian' idea of angel hierarchy (Pseudo-Dionysius the
Areopagite was a Christian philosopher). What resulted was a ranking of angels, known as
'choirs,' that classifies angels into three hierarchies, with three orders found beneath each one:

First Hierarchy of Angels (Highest)

Seraphim - first order (those who see most clearly)

Cherubim - second order (fullness of knowledge)
Thrones - third order (contemplate divine justice)

Second Hierarchy of Angels (Mid-ranking)

Dominations - fourth order (providence is enacted through them)

Virtues - fifth order (movement of the heavenly bodies)
Powers - sixth order (precise and preserved enactment)

Third Hierarchy of Angels (Lowest Ranking)

Principalities - seventh order (welfare of human affairs as a whole)

Archangels - eighth order (sharing of higher things to all of mankind)
Angels - ninth order (individual affairs of mankind)

Islam Angel Hierarchy

The highest ranking angel mentioned in the Koran is identified with the Spirit, who is made from
God's light, and is the Divine Command and chief of the Kerubim (cherubim). He has eight
forms who bear the throne of God, while Cherubim are the axis of creation. All angels are
created from him; thus archangels and angels preside over the Universe for him.
There are four archangels (another name used for Kerubim) named: Israfil, Jibril (Gabriel),
Azrael (Izrail) and Michael.

Two other angels are mentioned by name, Munkar and Nakir, who visit graves of those who
recently departed.

Ridwan, are said to be angels in charge of heaven while kiramu'l katiban are angels who
accompany every person and record their lives (each person has two of them; one on each side of
the person).

Final Thoughts on Angel Hierarchy

There are even more ideas concerning angels and their ranking that it is virtually impossible to
make much sense of it all.

Ideas about angel hierarchy have been studied, researched and bantered about, over and over, by
many different scholars, and one thing is clear: the rank and class of angels seem to have been
evolving within religion and mythology for thousands of years. This shows us that our beliefs
concerning angels change over time and across different cultures. Knowing this, we feel it best to
not put a lot of stock into the various angel hierarchies; the conflicting arrangements of celestial
beings reveals that someone's beliefs must be in error. And who can tell who is right, if any?

The differences in hierarchies cause us to wonder if attempts were made to make more out of
ancient writings than what was initially intended by the original authors, whomever they were.
Did theologians attempt to discern and assign ranks of angels from miniscule pieces of
information that they be put together from different sources? Yes, in our opinion.

An example of this mixing of ideas can be better understood by visiting our Types of Angels
page. You will see that so many orders of angels are equated with other angels of different names
(but similar); yet there does not seem to be one hierarchy that fits all of the beliefs regarding
these angelic beings. Ergo, attempts at trying to resolve the 'hierarchy confusion' seems futile.

Angelic Orders Of Seraphim, Thrones, Dominions, Virtues And Principalities,

Having discussed mankind and the lower forms of life of the Astral and Mental planes we should
now take a look at these most Divine Beings of the inner realms, the Angelic Beings, usually
known simply as "Angels" and "Archangels".
Almost everyone will have heard of Angels, often depicted with wings and known by such
names as Raphael, Michael, Gabriel and Auriel. El quite literally means of the Divine as for
example in Elohim, and Divine these Angelic beings surely are. Almost all cultures and
religions of the world recognise the Angelic hierarchy to some extent.

The Angelic hierarchies dwell in the highest realms of Universal life, never having incarnated
into human form in the physical world, having evolved along a completely different evolutionary
path to human beings. Although these Beings are often referred to as Angels, this is another
human perception, Angels being in fact very powerful Spiritual intelligences that are not actually
human like in appearance, this being yet another human construct based upon the way human
senses perceive the high Energy of these Beings.

Angels are often associated with the astrological symbolism of the planetary spheres. This is yet
another human construct, a symbolic representation of the levels of Energy density and vibration
in the Universe. It should also be mentioned however that there are no Energy levels as such,
the entire Universe being a continuum of Energy originating at The Source, The First Cause,
God, and extending out to the physical world of matter.

It should be mentioned however that both Angels and humans, like all forms of life and in fact
everything else in creation are still all equal aspects of The Source Energy, our Divine Creator,
of God. Just as every new human Soul incarnating on Earth for the very first time is brought into
being as an individuated Spirit when the Divine spark of Spirit is sent forth from the Logos to
descend into the form of a new human being, so too did all Angel life in the beginning, all
sharing the same kinship of Spirit between all life and of our Creator. Angels, although never
having incarnated into matter and occupying a inner place in the great planes of life, are still very
much involved with the well-being and progress of all mankind.

Angels have followed a different but nevertheless parallel line of evolution to human beings and
indeed all other such life in the multi-dimensional Universe. Although only dwelling in the
Celestial spheres and beyond, Angels can and frequently do descend to the lower spheres of life
whenever the need arises in order to carry out specific missions within the Mental or Astral
worlds, and even indeed within the physical world of matter. Angels are not usually however
able to draw very close to any person in the physical world unless the person has absolute control
over all emotions, ego, and all other aspects of character.

The Angelic hierarchy have an extremely important role in the evolution of the Universal grand
scheme of things, not the least of which is in assisting the progress of all humans, not only on
Earth but on planets all over the Universe. It is the ultimate destiny of every single human being
to evolve to such levels of greatness as to be considered God-people, working alongside the
Angelic hierarchy in assisting life evolving on other planets, just as other such highly evolved
beings including Angels are constantly, but often subtly assisting with the ongoing evolution of
mankind and life on Earth.

As with all beings of the spheres inner than the physical Universe, Angels have no fixed form or
appearance and are always seen in accordance with the perceptions of the person seeing
them in the presence of the very powerful level of Energy and Consciousness of the Angel. For
many centuries artists have depicted Angels as humanoid type beings, very often with wings,
glowing radiantly from head to foot, wearing long robes and sometimes holding various
artefacts. One person for example might see an Angel as possessing wings and another might see
the same Angel adorned in a white robe surrounded by radiant white light without any wings at
all. Regardless of how Angels are perceived by means of the inner senses however there can be
absolutely no mistaking the sheer magnitude of the strength of presence and high level of
Consciousness of these beings, radiating power, Love and Light.

Angels have no fixed formal hierarchies or names, all being an integral and equal aspect of the
Universal scheme of things. Any level at which an Angelic Being exists will be on exactly the
same basis as the level at which any other being exist, and that is in accordance with the level of
vibration of Energy of the Spiritual body relative to The Source.

Over the centuries however Angels have been given names and formal hierarchies by human
beings simply for the purposes of convenience and better understanding. Man has therefore over
the years chosen to define several levels or degrees of Angels organised in accordance with
their perceived responsibilities in the grand scheme of things. These organisations of Angels are
variously described as the Angelic Hierarchy, Angelic Hosts and very often even Choirs of
Angels. The term Choirs of Angels very often brings to the Mind of people the traditional
concept of a choir, where Angels are perceived to be holding song books, standing in rank and
singing to sounds of heavenly music.

There are various ways in which the Angelic hierarchies have been described over the years by
various traditions, which being human constructs are neither right or wrong. A typical human
defined Angelic hierarchy might for example be structured as follows:

The Seraphim: These are considered to be the very highest members of the Angelic hierarchy,
existing very closest to God. These Beings are considered to be responsible for the radiation of
Unconditional love and positive Spirit, and are also associated with Divine holy knowledge and
wisdom.

This hierarchy is perceived to include Micheal, Seraphiel, Jehoel, Metatron, Kemuel, Auriel and
Nathaniel. The popular perception of the appearance of these Angels is of beings with six wings,
two of which would be used for flying, a completely erroneous concept in the inner spheres,
and the other four for the veiling of their faces for reverence. These Angels are also often
depicted standing on winged heels.

Metatron is often considered to be one of the very greatest of the Angelic hierarchy, an Angel
who is particularly close to God, a messenger Angel who is also considered to be a Divine link
between God and humanity.
The Cherubim: These are considered to be the Angels or Spirits of harmony, and are often
known as the Spirits of the air; they are also perceived to represent Divine wisdom.

This Angelic hierarchy includes Gabriel, Cherubiel, Ophaniel, Raphael and Zophel who from
around the 16th century were often depicted as chubby looking children, cherubs with wings
and winged heels. Before the 16th century they were often perceived as Beings with the head of
a child, and the body of a bird.

The Thrones: This hierarchy includes the Angels of Justice, the Spirits of will who live in the
essence of the symbolic astrological sphere known as Saturn. This has nothing directly to do with
the physical planet of Saturn but is merely analogous to it.

The Thrones supervise judgement for individual karma and for humanity as a whole and are also
depicted as the record keepers of the sacred Universal laws representing the will necessary to
administer Divine justice in the Universe.

The Thrones, which include the Angelic names Orifie, Raziel, Zaphkiel, Japhkiel and Baradiel
are often perceived with scales of justice and a bouquet of flowers, standing on red winged heels
and seated upon lofty golden thrones.

The Dominions: These are also perceived as Spirits of wisdom and knowledge and also bring
teachings by intuition. They reside in the analogous sphere of Jupiter and represent the superior
power of wisdom against physical strength and egotistical forces.

This hierarchy includes Zadkil, Muriel, Hashman and Zacharel and are perceived as having
human shape and wearing a triple crown to signify their position over physical form. They can
also be perceived to be carrying a sceptre and holding a cross and/or sword to symbolise the
balance between the Universal active and passive forces.

The Virtues: This hierarchy are responsible for freedom of choice and dwell in the essence of
the analogous planetary sphere of Mars. These Angels watch over the centres of freewill and
provide the tools needed along the sacred path back to God in order to make choices, learn
Spiritual lessons, and to overcome karmic debt.

This Angelic hierarchy works with the thrones to bestow grace and rewards on those who have
overcome trials in their physical lives and include Uzziel, Gabriel, Michael, Peliel, Haniel,
Babiel and Tarhishiel.

The Virtues are often perceived as having four blue, feathered wings and sparkling armour. They
are also often perceived as carrying a sceptre, axe, spear, sword and shield for protection. These
instruments are symbolic of the need to move forward in life with Unconditional love, even in
the face of fear or battle.

The Principalities: This hierarchy dwells in the essence of the analogous sphere of Venus and
are responsible for the protection of people regarded as important on Earth.

This hierarchy includes Auriel, Raphael, Raguel, Micheal, Gabriel and Remiel. These Angels are
perceived to have human form and clad in armour. They are also seen to be carrying a sceptre,
lily flowers, palm leaves and a cross.
The Archangels: These are the ruling Angels, Spirits of Fire inhabiting the planetary essence
analogous to Mercury. These Angels are directly associated with God, standing in readiness to
carry out Divine decrees for humans. This hierarchy consists of Michael, Raphael, Raguel,
Auriel, Sariel, Remiel and Gabriel.

Since the 14th century Archangels have been seen to be clad in white linen, and sometimes
perceived as carrying feathered pens and scrolls.

The Angels: These are the messenger Angels who also govern the nature Spirits. They dwell in
the essence of the astrological Moon sphere and are seen as the guardians over all of humanity.
These Angels involve themselves with the everyday life of the planet Earth and are a direct
gateway for information, knowledge and communications between mankind and The Source,
The Prime Creator, God.

There are literally billions of Angels and who are often perceived to have a human type body
with wings, clothed according to the Earthly country, tradition or culture with which they are
associated.

In conclusion, all Angels are Divine Spiritual beings of Light who work very closely within the
Energy of God, dwelling in the inner realms of life having followed an alternative evolutionary
course to human beings, and who are instantly recognisable by their very high and powerful
levels of Energy and vibration, existing at levels of the Universe with a corresponding high
vibration. Those Angels closest to The Source, The Prime Creator, God existing at the very
highest and most powerful levels of Energy and vibration of all.

All Angels work both for the good of all humanity and indeed for the good of the entire
Universe, including all life on all planets. Although mankind over the centuries has traditionally
felt the need to place Angels into convenient hierarchies and give them names in accordance
with their perceived tasks and status, in reality they all work in unison for the ultimate good of
humanity on all planets of the multi-dimensional Universe.

The names and hierarchy of the Angelic hosts are entirely notional, and simply a human
originated way of depicting these Divine beings. Different cultures and traditions will have
different ways of naming and depicting Angelic beings depending on their own perceptions. The
above described hierarchy is therefore fairly typical of the perception of the Angelic hierarchy
across various cultures on Earth, and should not be taken as definitive in any way.

It should also once again be noted that the symbolic planetary spheres of Mars, Venus, Mercury
and the others are directly equivalent and analogous to the various planes of life beyond the
physical Universe. They are therefore also equivalent for example to the Tree of Life of the
Kabbalah, and also of the planes of correspondence of the ancient knowledge and wisdom of the
West, all ultimately being levels of vibration, Energy and density.

At the final analysis, the nature of the multi-dimensional continuum of Energy and vibration that
is the Universe is agreed across all cultures and traditions of the world since time immemorial,
only the names and perceptions varying in accordance with the many and varied races, customs
and traditions of the world, with Angels, like all beings existing at the level of the Energy
continuum of the Universe that most precisely matches their own unique Energy.

Classification of demons
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Temptation of St. Anthony by Martin Schngauer.

There have been various demonologies (classifications of demons) in Christian demonology and
classical occultism and Renaissance magic. Classification systems are based on the nature of the
demon, the sin with which they tempt people, the month in which their power was strongest, the
saints that were their adversaries, or other characteristics.

Classification by domain

It can be noted that according to each author listed below, the domain of each demon is very
different (with the exception of Francesco Maria Guazzo, who seem to have copied Michael
Psellus with little difference). It can also be seen that each author chooses and classifies demons
differently.

The Testament of Solomon

Main article: Testament of Solomon

The Testament of Solomon is an Old Testament pseudepigraphical work, purportedly written by

King Solomon, in which Solomon mostly describes particular demons whom he enslaved to help
build the temple, the questions he put to them about their deeds and how they could be thwarted,
and their answers, which provide a kind of self-help manual against demonic activity. The date is
very dubious, though is considered the oldest work surviving particularly concerned with
individual demons.[1][2]

Psellus' classification of demons

Michael Psellus prepared a classification of demons in the 11th century, which was an
inspiration for the classification Francesco Maria Guazzo prepared later. Psellus divided demons
into Empyreal (Fiery), Aerial, Subterranean, Lucifugi (Bound), Aqueous, and Terrene
(Terrestrial).[3]

The Lanterne of Light's classification of demons

In 1409-1410 The Lanterne of Light (an anonymous English Lollard tract often erroneously
attributed to Wycliffe)[4] provided a classification system based on the Seven Deadly Sins,
establishing that each one of the mentioned demons tempted people by means of one of those
sins:[5]

Lucifer: pride
Belzebub: envy (envious)
Sathanus: wrath (wrae)
Abaddon: sloth (slow)
Mammon: greed - avarice (avarouse) & covetousness (covetise)
Belphegor: gluttony (glotouns)
Asmodeus: lust (leccherouse)

Spina's classification of demons

Alphonso de Spina, in 1467, prepared a classification of demons based on several criteria:

Demons of fate
Goblins
Incubi and succubi
Wandering groups or armies of demons
Familiars
Drudes
Cambions and other demons that are born from the union of a demon with a human being.
Liar and mischievous demons
Demons that attack the saints
Demons that try to induce old women to attend Witches' Sabbaths

This classification is somewhat capricious and it is difficult to find a criterion for it. It seems that
Spina was inspired by several legends and stories. The drudes belong to German folklore.
Familiars, goblins, and other mischievous demons belong to the folklore of most European
countries.

The belief in incubi and succubae (and their ability to procreate) seem to have inspired the
seventh category, but it could also have been inspired in the Talmudic legend of demons having
sexual intercourse with mortal women (see also Mastema).

The visions of tempting demons that some early (and not so early) saints had, perhaps inspired
the ninth category (e.g. the visions of Anthony the Great).

The idea of old women attending Sabbaths was common during the European Middle Age and
Renaissance, and Spina mentioned it before the Malleus Maleficarum.

Agrippa's classification of demons

In De occulta philosophia (1509-1510), Cornelius Agrippa proposed several classifications for

demons. One is based in the number four and the cardinal points, with the ruling demons being
Oriens (East), Paymon (west), Egyn (North) and Amaymon (South). The same four demons
appear in the Semiphoras and Schemhamforas.[6][7] Another classification, based in the number
nine, has the following orders of demons: False spirits, Spirits of lying, Vessels of iniquity,
Avengers of wickedness, Juglers, Aiery powers, Furies sowing mischief, Sifters or tryers,
Tempters or insnarers (See Barrett's classification below).
Binsfeld's classification of demons

Peter Binsfeld prepared a classification of demons in 1589. His demon classification was, like
the earlier English Lanterne of Light, based on the seven deadly sins, though it differed slightly
from the English text.

Lucifer: pride
Mammon: greed
Asmodeus: lust
Leviathan: envy
Beelzebub: gluttony
Satan: wrath
Belphegor: sloth[8][9][10]

Michaelis' classification of demons

In 1613 Sebastien Michaelis wrote a book, Marvelous History, which included a classification of
demons as it was told to him by the demon Berith when he was exorcising a nun, according to
the author. This classification is based on the Pseudo-Dionysian hierarchies, according to the sins
the devil tempts one to commit, and includes the demons' adversaries (who suffered that
temptation without falling).

Note that many demons' names are exclusively French or unknown in other catalogs. St. John the
Baptist and St. John the Evangelist are the two St. Johns to whom Michaelis refers. The other
saints are cited only by their name without making clear, i.e., which Francis is (of Assisi?).

First hierarchy

The first hierarchy includes angels that were Seraphim, Cherubim and Thrones.

Beelzebub was a prince of the Seraphim, just below Lucifer. Beelzebub, along with Lucifer and
Leviathan, were the first three angels to fall. He tempts men with pride and is opposed by St.
Francis of Assisi.
Leviathan was also a prince of the Seraphim who tempts people to give into heresy, and is
opposed by St. Peter.
Asmodeus was also a prince of the Seraphim, burning with desire to tempt men into
wantonness. He is opposed by St. John the Baptist.
Berith was a prince of the Cherubim. He tempts men to commit homicide, and to be
quarrelsome, contentious, and blasphemous. He is opposed by St. Barnabas.
Astaroth was a prince of Thrones, who tempts men to be lazy and is opposed by St.
Bartholomew.
Verrine was also prince of Thrones, just below Astaroth. He tempts men with impatience and is
opposed by St. Dominic.
Gressil was the third prince of Thrones, who tempts men with impurity and is opposed by St.
Bernard.
Sonneillon was the fourth prince of Thrones, who tempts men to hate and is opposed by St.
Stephen.[11]
Second hierarchy

The second hierarchy includes Powers, Dominions, and Virtues.

Carreau was a prince of Powers. He tempts men with hardness of heart and is opposed by SS.
Vincent and Vincent Ferrer
Carnivale was also a prince of Powers. He tempts men to obscenity and shamelessness, and is
opposed by John the Evangelist.
Oeillet was a prince of Dominions. He tempts men to break the vow of poverty and is opposed
by St. Martin.
Rosier was the second in the order of Dominions. He tempts men against sexual purity and is
opposed by St. Basil.
Belias was the prince of Virtues. He tempts men with arrogance and women to be vain, raise
their children as wantons, and gossip during mass. He is opposed by St. Francis de Paul.

Third hierarchy

The third hierarchy includes Principalities, Archangels, and Angels.

Olivier was the prince of the Archangels. He tempts men with cruelty and mercilessness toward
the poor and is opposed by St. Lawrence.
Luvart was prince of Angels. At the time of Michaelis's writing, Luvart was believed to be in the
body of a Sister Madeleine.[12]
Verrier was the prince of Principalities. He tempts men against the vow of obedience and is
opposed by St. Bernard.

Many of the names and ranks of these demons appear in the Sabbath litanies of witches,
according with Jules Garinet's Histoire de la magie en France, and Collin De Plancy's
Dictionnaire Infernal.

Barrett's classification of demons

Francis Barrett, in his book The magus (1801), offered this classification of demons, making
them princes of some evil attitude, person or thing:

Beelzebub: idolators
Pythius: liars and liar spirits
Belial: vessels of iniquity and inventors of evil things
Asmodeus: vile revenges
Satan: witches and warlocks
Merihem: pestilences and spirits that cause pestilences
Abaddon: powers of war and devastation
Astaroth: inquisitors and accusers
Mammon: tempters and ensnarers[13]
Classification by office

There were also classifications by office, like those written in several grimoires.

The Book of Abramelin

The Book of Abramelin, possibly written in the 14th or 15th century, lists four princes of the
demons: Lucifer, Leviatan, Satan and Belial. There are also eight sub-princes: Astarot, Magot,
Asmodee, Belzebud, Oriens, Paimon, Ariton and Amaimon. Under the rule of these there are
many lesser demons.

Le Livre des esperitz

Written in the 15th or 16th century, this grimoire was a likely source for Wierus hierarchy of
demons, but while Wierus mentions 69 demons, Le Livre des esperitz has only 46. Wierus
omitted, however, the four demons of the cardinal points: Orient, Poymon, Aymoymon and Equi
(see Agrippa's classification) and the three great governors of all the other demons: Lucifer,
Bezlebut and Satan.[14]

Le Dragon Rouge (or Grand Grimoire)

Main article: Grand Grimoire

Like many works of mystical nature, Le Dragon Rouge (or the Red Dragon) claims to come
from Solomon and his priests and is said to be published in 1517 by Alibeck the Egyptian.
However, it was most likely written in France in the 18th century.

The grimoire details the different hosts of hell and their powers, describing how to enter a pact
with them to attain the magicians' goals. The demons of hell are classified by three different tiers
from Generals to Officers.[15]

Pseudomonarchia Daemonum
Main article: Pseudomonarchia Daemonum

Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, by Johann Weyer, is a grimoire that contains a list of demons and
the appropriate hours and rituals to conjure them in the name of God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost
(simpler than those cited by The Lesser Key of Solomon below).

This book was written around 1583, and lists sixty-eight demons. The demons Vassago, Seir,
Dantalion and Andromalius are not listed in this book. Pseudomonarchia Daemonum does not
attribute seals to the demons.[16]

The Lesser Key of Solomon

Main article: The Lesser Key of Solomon
The Lesser Key of Solomon or Lemegeton Clavicula Salomonis is an anonymous 17th century
grimoire, and one of the most popular books of demonology. The Lesser Key of Solomon
contains detailed descriptions of spirits and the conjurations needed to invoke and oblige them to
do the will of the conjurer (referred to as the "exorcist"). It details the protective signs and rituals
to be performed, the actions necessary to prevent the spirits from gaining control, the
preparations prior to the invocations, and instructions on how to make the necessary instruments
for the execution of these rituals.

The author of The Lesser Key of Solomon copied Pseudomonarchia Daemonum almost
completely, but added demons' descriptions, their seals and details.

The Ars Goetia

See List of demons in the Ars Goetia

Ars Goetia is the first section of The Lesser Key of Solomon, containing descriptions of the
seventy-two demons that King Solomon is said to have evoked and confined in a bronze vessel
sealed by magic symbols, and that he obliged to work for him.

The Ars Goetia assigns a rank and a title of nobility to each member of the infernal hierarchy,
and gives the demons "signs they have to pay allegiance to", or seals.

Dictionnaire Infernal
Main article: Dictionnaire Infernal

The Dictionnaire Infernal (English: Infernal Dictionary) is a book on demonology, organised in

hellish hierarchies. It was written by Jacques Auguste Simon Collin de Plancy and first published
in 1818. There were several editions of the book, but perhaps the most famous is the edition of
1863, in which sixty-nine illustrations were added to the book. These illustrations are drawings
which depict the descriptions of the appearance of a number of demons. Many of these images
were later used in S. L. MacGregor Mathers's edition of The Lesser Key of Solomon though some
of the images were removed.

The book was first published in 1818 and then divided into two volumes, with six reprints and
many changes between 1818 and 1863. This book attempts to provide an account of all the
knowledge concerning superstitions and demonology.

De Plancy presented a hierarchy of demons based in modern European courts:

Princes and dignitaries: Belzebuth, supreme chief of the empire of hell, founder of the order of
the Fly. Satan, prince dethroned and chief of the opposition party. Eurinomo, prince of death,
Grand Cross of the order of the Fly. Moloch, prince of the country of tears, Grand Cross of the
order. Pluton, Prince of Fire, also Grand Cross of the order and governor of the regions in
flames. Pan, prince of incubii and Lilith, of succubi. Leonardo, the great lord of the Sabbath,
Knight of the Fly. Balberith, great pontiff, lord of alliances. Proserpina, archdiablesse, princess of
evil spirits.
Ministers of the Office: Adramelech, Grand Chancellor and Grand Cross of the Order of the Fly.
Ashtaroth, general treasurer, Knight of the Fly. Nergal, chief of the secret police. Baal,
commander in chief of the armies of Hell, Grand Cross of the Order of the Fly. Leviathan, Grand
Admiral, Knight of the Fly.
Ambassadors: Belfegor, Ambassador of France. Mammon, of England. Belial, of Italy. Rimmon,
of Russia. Thamuz, of Spain. Hutgin, of Turkey. Martinet, of Switzerland.
Justice: Lucifer, chief of justice, Knight of the Fly. Alastor, executor of his sentences.
House of the princes: Verdelet, master of ceremonies. Succor Benoth, chief of the eunuchs of
the seraglio. Chamos, Grand Chambelain, Knight of the Fly. Melchom, payer treasurer. Nisroth,
chief of the kitchen. Behemoth, chief cupbearer. Dagon, grand pantler. Mullin, first valet.
Secret expenses: Robals, director of theaters. Asmodeus, superintendent of the gambling
houses. Nibas grand buffoon. Antichrist, charlatan and necromancer.

Alexis-Vincent-Charles Berbiguier used some of these names and ranks for the demons who
tormented him, in his autobiographical work Les farfadets ou Tous les dmons ne sont pas de
l'autre monde(1821).

The Satanic Kingdom

(Restoring Shattered Lives)

There are other spiritual beings in the heavenly realms which may be godly or ungodly:
Archangels (ruling angels), Angels, and Shedhim (rulers or lords) and Seirim (he-goats or hairy
ones). Demons seek a body to inhabit. Angels can appear in bodily form. We petition GOD to
deal with spiritual beings in heavenly realms and remove evil beings with levels of
authority under them.

have achieved over human subjects so that the latter can process truth at a heart level.

Occult Level: Intercessory confrontations with demonic forces operating through satanism,
witchcraft, shamanism, esoteric philosophies and similar occult activities.

Strategic Level: Intercessory confrontations with demonic power concentrated over given cities,
cultures and peoples.

sites, peoples and areas. The belief in such hierarchal arrangements is culturally widespread and
often involves protective deities linked to homes, temples, clans, cities, valleys and nations.

Principalities And Powers: Demonic agents and structures that exert deceptive control over co-
conspiratorial human political kingdoms and systems.

Rulers Of Darkness Of This World: Demonic forces involved in deceptive and destructive

SATAN, FALLEN ANGELS AND DEMONS

There is Satan - one individual not omniscient, omnipresent or omnipotent like God.

Heb. 12:22 too innumerable (myriads, countless, indefinitely large numbers, enormous,
multitudinous) hosts of angels. Rev. 5:11 calculates at least 101,000,000 total angels. Rev. 12:4
calculates at least 33,700,000 fallen angels. There are many millions of fallen angels.

We only cast out demons in Christians and find they have many demons. If the world has billions
of people and Christians have many demons, then there must be multiplied billions of demons.

Demons may have come from a Pre-Adamic Race but there is no scriptural reference that can
be found to prove where demons came from conclusively. Demons say that they are demons and
not fallen angels. They do not have to tell where they came from apparently.

Some interesting scriptures are Matt. 25:41, II Peter 2:4 and Jude 6. There is no indication that
angels are demons.

Satan is Chief of Staff of his army. The fallen angels are his officers. The demons are his
soldiers.

We cast thousands of demons out of a man during a year by working with him weekly. The
demons freely talked and gave us information about their rank and number. One demon said
that a person could have thousands of demons. Early in our deliverance ministry, I would
write this information down. A Christian can have a legion of demons.

Druids revered the faeries, gnomes and undeines which are types of demons.

The Chain Of Command In The Demonic Realm (Excerpts)

Demons are very conscious of authority and adhere slavishly to the chain of command and the
line of authority structure. There are Chief Kings and Chief Princes, and under them are Kings
and Princes who rule various geographical and spiritual areas. There are kingdoms,
principalities, dominions and powers which are administered by Kings and Princes. Each
state in the United states is ruled over by a prince. Louisiana is ruled by Southern Curses.

A General is in charge of a Legion (6,000) while a Prince will control a number of Legions. A
Ruler or Captain commands a Cohort (600), and there can be Chief Captains and Chief
Rulers with still more authority. A Centurion controls 100 demons; if he controls less than a
hundred demons he is called a Strongman.

Any demon in authority will direct how many, when and where pain spirits are to attack, and
how sustained the attack is to be. These pain spirits are called Imps by those in charge.

Because of the rigid authority structure, a wise move in dealing with spirits is to bind all spirits,
especially ruling ones and ones of Violence, Fighting and Murder.

The control of a geographical area seems to rest on the success of a prince in controlling the
majority of the persons within that place. It also has to do with the ferocity and power of that
prince.

THE SATANIC COSMOS (EXCERPTS)

In the Scriptures, both holy and unholy spirit beings are designated as angels. Usually the
unholy angels are referred to as demons, translated in the King James Version as devils.
(Demons would talk to Win Worley.)

Demons in vast numbers constitute a part of Satan's hierarchy and fight in his army. They
degrade the bodies they invade and possess, whether of animals or men. (Animals need
deliverance too. We have done deliverance on our farm animals.)

This influence is exercised both to mislead the unsaved and wage an increasing war against the
believer. Thus commenced the fierce battle between Satan and God for the control of the human
beings God put on earth in the re-creation. (What was on the earth before Adam and Eve?)

The super angel continued to invade the affairs of men. By the time of Noah, he had managed by
supernatural power to infiltrate the human race with angelic creatures who somehow took the
bodies of humans to father monstrous hybrid offspring, half demon and half human.

Most demons will concede that they will eventually go to the pit, but they emphasize that is is
not time yet and they do not want to talk about it. They fear and dread the pit and its
consequences.

There can be very little doubt that the demons do have a highly organized empire of evil. Satan's
description is the one who deceiveth the whole world. Behind the facade of religious life, there is
a spiritual battle raging. There is fierce conflict today; there are those who do not wish to pass
this way.
In brief, the Church of Christ will reach its high water mark when it knows how to (1) bind the
strong man by prayer, (2) command the spirits of evil in the Name of Christ, and (3) deliver
men and women from their power.

There are spirits from the heavenlies deliberately intervening to strengthen and reinforce
embattled spirits in a person. The most powerful are those in the heavenlies charged with the
overall direction of Satan's program.

There is a bottom division to which demons refer. The middle division seems to encompass
those demons whose job is to gain entrance to mortal bodies. The top division of the demonic
hierarchy supervises and closely monitors activities in the lower ranks without violating any of
the ground rules in Scripture.

Entirely due to the stupidity and ignorance of the believers, dividing and sowing suspicion
among the believers, is an astoundingly effective tool - 90% successful!

Three different places are Gehenna, Hades and Tartarus. Gehenna refers to Hell, the final
abode of the wicked dead. Hades refers to the temporary abode of the wicked dead.

Tartarus refers to some of the fallen angels who sinned at the time of the flood and were sent to
their temporary prison house. Demons fear this place exceedingly and tremble. They say it is
dark, filled with black flames, inhabitants are bound by chains, cannot communicate with each
other, and it is a horrible place filled with misery.

Two thirds of the heavenly host remain loyal to the Lord God, giving us a two to one angelic
majority. There is a realism of loosing spirits from the Lord to operate in your life and the lives
of others. There are spirits named in the Old and New Testaments.

In the Old Testament, look up the words: angel, charmer, dead, devil, divination,
enchantment, familiar, giants, leviathan, magic, necromancy, Satan, serpent, spirit, witch,
wizard and references to the giants: Anakim, Avim, Emim, Horim, Nephilim, Rephaim and
Zamzummim.

In the New Testament look up the words: angel, Antichrist, Beelzebub, Belial, darkness, devil,
demon, dragon, lion, Satan, serpent, sorcery, spirit, tempter.

ANGELS OF LIGHT, POWERS OF DARKNESS (EXCERPTS)

Try mentioning angels, demons or the Devil. You will be quickly appraised for signs of
pathological violence and then quietly shunned. The Roman Catholic Church has reaffirmed its
traditional teaching on the existence of angels, including personal guardian angels and demons.
The reemergence of teaching on angels in Christian churches runs parallel to the rise of New Age
angels in the neo-pagan revival of the secular culture. Pentecostals have long taught the
importance of the discernment of spirits and exorcism.

Classical tradition on the fundamental truth about angels: they exist; they are spiritual; they are
creatures; and some fell of their own evil will; and wage war against humanity. Angels are
merely God's helpers.

Even Satan serves God's glory against his will. Because with the bridle of his power, God holds
him bound and restrained. He carries out only those things which have been divinely permitted to
him. He obeys his Creator because he is compelled to yield him service wherever God impels
him.

Demonic gargoyles decorated churches and cathedrals. Popular Protestantism flirted with fears
of witches, epitomized in the tragic Salem witch trials. Angels and men are sufficient to stand,
yet free to fall. Classical tradition is seeing Satan's fall as an unprovoked act of pride.

Evangelicals believe in the existence and activity of angels on the word of the Bible alone.
Angels are often mistaken for men. Michael and Gabriel seem to have distinct but equivalent
functions in the Book of Daniel as warrior and revealer of mysteries, respectively. Devils are
condemned forever.

Satan is the ancient serpent, the perpetual accuser and the murderer of the saints. He is revealed
in an unholy trinity made up of the mythical accuser (dragon), the Antichrist (beast) and the
spirit of false religion. Satan is the hostile opponent. A fall presumes Satan's prior residence in
heaven with the angels.

There are angels and demons. Angels have bodies; demons seek to enter other bodies. Satan
is Prince of Demons. God bound the fallen angels in Tartarus that cohabited with human
women. The demonic spirits of their gigantic offspring may be the demons of today. The ancient
world was well acquainted with unclean demonic spirits. (There are spirits of incubus and
sucubus which have sex with women and men.)

When did evil begin and where did it come from? Satan is a liar and murderer from the
beginning. Worship of gods is the worship of demons. There is an organized kingdom of Satan
which afflicts the human race at every level of personal and social life. Demons are not heavenly
beings; they are associated with death and the underworld. The churches have their own angelic
representatives. Some of these angels may have fallen from heaven in primordial times and then
been reduced to demons. (There is a godly and ungodly angel assigned to a church.)

Pentecostals and charismatics say that believers as well as non-Christians may be demonized
and require exorcism. This is a seesaw battle between the sons of light and the sons of darkness.
There is the great universal spiritual war between Good and Evil. God has assigned a personal
guardian angel to each believer. (I ask God to assign twelve legions of angels to protect me.)

We are dealing with gods and angels, Satan and demons, and principalities and powers. Angels
exist as well as Satan, demons and powers. Principalities and powers may be called angels on the
way to ruination.

The refusal to deal with the good and evil spirits has weakened the church and its witness. Just
when the enemy is making a great counterattack, we start forgetting we are on the battlefield at
all. It is amazing how quickly the Church has fallen away from the faith, become accursed,
bewitched and under a spell. This is very predictable as part of the cosmic battle for their souls.
Christians are in bondage to beings that are no gods...weak and beggarly elemental spirits.
Angels are guardians and guides of God's people in both Old and New Testaments. Satan, the
God Of This Age, disguises himself as an angel of light. The world is filled with devils
threatening to undo us.

THE SEVEN OCCULT KINGDOMS

(Occult Grand Master Now In Christ)

Preface

There are seven occult kingdoms in the universe, which are the kingdoms of Satan and the fallen
angels. There are various planes, zones, realms and centers as well as deities, gods and lords. The
Five Cosmic Seals (occult levels) are the universal summary of the 400,000 categories of occult
initiations, powers and demons (Astrometaphysical operations). There are male, female, neuter
and mermaid spirits (demons or Cosmic Forces).

There are occult Esoteric Metaphysics (the secret and most confidential aspect of occult
teachings) and Mystical Sciences practiced by mystical adepts, Living Grand Masters. This is the
cosmological verdict of the Order of Astral and Terrestrial Hierarchy universal occult
recognition. Exoteric is public occult teachings. An Adept uses the Technique of the Master. Hell
is called After-Life-Hallucination. There are entities, spirits, demons, demi-gods, Archangels and
other names for the evil beings. A Guru is a Spiritual Master.

Seals

The Five Cosmic Seals are five occult levels: Level 333, 666, 999, 1330 and 003 operating
400,000 minuet mystical degrees.

First Cosmic Seal: (Devic Seal 333) One who has received this Cosmic Seal is empowered to
control not less than 40,000 spirits.

Second Cosmic Seal: (Seal of Kal 666) One who has received this Cosmic Seal is empowered to
control not less than 160,000 spirits. Many great politicians, military commanders, etc. on earth
are at this occult level of operations. This will be the occult level of the coming Antichrist.

Third Cosmic Seal: (Shiva Seal 999 - Seal of Destruction) One who has received this Cosmic
Seal is empowered to control not less than 2,500,000 spirits which depends on the mastership of
one's occult and psychic projections. Women are generally kept at this level with a few women
exceeding this level.

Fourth Cosmic Seal: (Terrestrial Seal 1330 - Seal of Ba-Vara) One who has received this
Cosmic Seal (Living Grand Master of the Order of Astral and Terrestrial Hierarchy) is
empowered to control not less than 100,000,000 spirits and 33,000,000 demi-gods.

Fifth Cosmic Seal: (Liber 003 - Seal of Tuzassotama) One who has received this Cosmic Seal is
mystically empowered to proclaim himself as "God, Lord, Universal Master or God-Incarnate"
on earth and he controls all spirits of the occult kingdoms.
Occult Kingdom Of The Earth (First)

There are ten major zones of spiritual operations of the forces of darkness ruled by "Guardian
Angels - Arahatha": Gobi desert around Afghanistan, Agam Des in Tibet, Himalaya Mountains
in India, Forest of Slurping in India, Vrindavan City in India, California in United States (ruled
by Seth), Ibadan City in Nigeria, Jerusalem in Israel, Tabuse in Japan and around the pyramid of
Egypt. The Devic kingdom is ruled by a female Archspirit Seraphim Visel living in a spiritual
city called NU located in Iran. (Notice the zones in India and Tibet.)

Within each of the zones, there are 127 occult regions or 1,270 regions total ruled by demon
Earth Masters which project the metaphysical powers to sustain secret societies, churches and
religious movements for the operation of witchcrafts, esoteric and related metaphysical forces.
Within each of the occult regions, there are 3,000 occult centers or 30,000,000 centers total of
Elemental Forces ruled by Gomes (Supreme Elementals) operated by mystical AUM Vibrations
(Mantra sound vibrations). Within each center, there are millions of Elemental Spirit demons.

Water Occult Kingdom (Second)

There are five planes or zones: Lumani, Banni, Lemuria, Gamma and Atlantis. Within each zone,
there are 220 regions or 1,100 regions total ruled by a Pritha. Within each region, there are 2,000
occult centers or 440,000 centers total ruled by a Huna Supreme Mermaid controlling millions of
mermaids and water demons. Banwar Kingdom is ruled by Archspirit Lord Kaliya (neither male
nor female) living in an occult city Gupha located in the Bermuda-Triangle (Zone of Death).
Each of the five zones has a male great demon ruling it (demi-god with four hands).

Occult Kingdom Of Fire (Third)

There are millions of mighty dark angels of death. Within this realm, there are two major planes.
The first plane, Anda, has innumerable courts guarded by Gnomes (subterranean spirits) ruled by
Archangel Ahankar. The second plane is a strange plane of punishment ruled by Archangel Chita
(The Lord of Fire) made for some of those who are physically dead on earth). Yamalok kingdom
is ruled by Archspirit Lord Naga (Lord of Death and Punishment) controlling millions of mighty
dark angels of death.

First Occult Kingdom Of The Air (Fourth)

Within the Astral Kingdom, there are 900,000,000 zones and planes ruled by Archspirit Lord
Sagna, a Deva (Guardian Spirit) in control of billions of Yansdavas (demons of the air) and
millions of Devas and Devatas (male and female Guardian Spirits) in the city of Sahasra. There
are billions of demons and millions of "Guardian Spirits". Lower Astral Kingdom is made up of
26,000,000 planes. In many religions of the world King Elam, second-in-command, is being
worshipped as "God".

Second Occult Kingdom Of The Air (Fifth)

Within the Terrestrial Kingdom, there are 33,000,000 demi-gods ruled by Archspirit Ba-Vara.
Within the kingdom, there are two major "Grand Divisions". Grand Division Casual World is
ruled by Archspirit Lord Gotamy. Grand Division Etheric Heaven is ruled by Saint Goo-Ling
using advanced manipulation which one can not detect except after one's deliverance by the
Living Power of Jesus Christ.

Third Occult Kingdom Of The Air (Sixth)

Within the Azura Kingdom, there are several planes, regions, sub-regions, zones, etc. ruled by
Archspirit Sat Kumara. Every mystical art, wisdom or craft born in Azura is projected to the
other five kingdoms. There are millions of mighty spirits called Guardians of the Flame
(Abhidevanadas).

Fourth Occult Kingdom Of The Air (Seventh)

The Kalami Kingdom is the highest of all and is ruled by Satan. Here one attains the ultimate
perfection of mysticism and esoteric power which is proclaimed to be the state of "God
Consciousness".

Satan

Satan, the Devil, Archangel Lucifer, that old serpent and anointed cherub is called Chitanam who
deceived one-third of the angels, cherubims and seraphims in Heaven. He wanted to sit on the
mount of the congregation in the sides of the north (Mount of the Assembly far in the north of
the highest heavens) and be like the Most High. He showed our Lord Jesus Christ all the
kingdoms of the world (the seven occult kingdoms) in a moment of time. Lucifer is revealed as a
great red dragon with seven heads and ten horns forming the seven occult kingdoms.
