The teacher will post a picture about a person that lifts the world.

Questions to ponder on:


1. What can say about the picture?
2. What do you think this picture pertaining to?

The teacher will divide the class in to three groups and each group will discuss the types of
power and their purposes.
GROUP 1: Police Power
Guide Questions:
1. Define what is Police Power.
2. What are the characteristics and scope of a police power?
3. Give an example/s where in the police power is being exercise.
GROUP 2 Power of Eminent Domain
Guide Questions:
1. What is Eminent domain?
2. How is this power being exercise?
3. Give the conditions for the exercise of this power.
4. Who may exercise the Power of Eminent Domain?
5. What are the requisites and limits to exercise the Power of Eminent Domain.
GROUP 3 Power of Taxation
Guide Questions:
1. Is tax different from taxation? Why or why not and jutify.
2. What is the purposeof taxation?
3. What are considered limitations of taxation?
D. Generalization
Direction: Give the differences of the three types of power.

Question: How does Political leader exercise their power?
Answer: The power exercised by our political leaders emanates from the authority conferred to
them by the law. If their actions are beyond the scope of their authority, the courts may, in a proper
case, declare such acts as without legal effects.

IV. Assignment
Interview a barangay captain concerning the powers granted to him or her as head of the
barangay. In the exercise of such powers, the barangay captain should be asked to mention decisions
he or she has made regarding the barangay. You should also talk to a student leader regarding the
powers given to him or her and how such powers is exercised. The interviews conducted should be
submitted through a report.
