Concurrently, the artist researched and analysed Singapores land use policies
throughout the years to project a possible future environment. These imaginings
of nature in their various modes of presentation as sculptural photographic
images, maps, videos and narratives are complex layers of encounters that
probe at ideals, nostalgia and desires with regards to our lived environments. Note: Zen Teh will be available

The Imperative Landscape series features images of forests at the edge of urban
development in Chiang Rai, Thailand. The source photographs are manipulated
and collaged into landscapes of ever-lush verdure, to be starkly delineated
into three geometric silhouettes. Over-aestheticized but seemingly of natural
environments, each composition is a visual feast that provides moments of
escape.

At the heart of the exhibition, Zen Tehs photographic images represent a constant Press contact
effort to trace and achieve a state of wilderness that the urban-dwelling artist Alizee Sire
has never experienced before. In her work, nature is viewed and captured from communication@

About Zen Teh
Zen Teh (born and live in Singapore, 1988) is an artist and educator interested
in mans relationship with the natural world. Tehs art practice is shaped by her
proficiency in photography and
painting, alongside her continual
investigation into interdisciplinary
studies of the works of nature
and human behaviour. Her works
has been showcased in numerous
group and solo exhibitions in
Singapore, and also regionally
in Thailand, Taiwan and China
including the National Museum
of Singapore, Singapore Art
Museum and most recently, The
Substation Art Science Open
Call Exhibition at the Art Science
Museum. She has also been invited
as a guest speaker to regional
environmental conferences such
as ASEAN Powershift 2015 and
Hanoi Innovation Week 2016 on
Sustainability.
