Google AdSense has been playing a big part of Google regarding to their companys
overall income. Based on the active analysis from BuiltWith Pty. Ltd. (2017) on number of
AdSense users, there are over 14 million websites around the globe are monetized by Google
AdSense and the number still increasing.
According to Google.com (2017), publishers have the right to customize and choose
from a pool of ads which to display on their site, either in text form, display or both.
However, publishers are confident with Googles algorithms to display relevant ads from the
content of each publishers and by learning the users browsing habits. Publishers are often
motivated to generate attractive contents to increase and maximize the flow of traffic in their
websites.
2.2 ADWORDS
Google AdWords and AdSense are different. AdWords being the second largest
source of income of Google, it provides opportunities for individuals or business corporates
to advertise their own websites or products by reaching out to their potential customers.
Besides that, publishers will get paid by Google by posting surveys on their websites
and get value responds from the participants. The publishers must guarantee that the
participants have at least a 10% of completion rate in order to continue serving to Google
Surveys. The participants will partake in the survey in order to exchange for premium content
or store credits for Google Play. (Peoples, G., 2012)
2.4 ADMOB
Admob enable app developers to monetize their existing mobile app through in-app
advertising to generate some revenue from it. Admob can be implanted into free mobile apps
by offering advertising space within the app in real time. Admobs ads are comprised of
interstitial ads, banners, rewarded ads or native ads. On Android, app developers can choose
to display in-app purchase ads to promote and enable users to purchase advertised products
within the app. Admob enable developers to monitor the apps performance, Google will
generate a personalized reports and dashboards for the ease of understanding the growth of
the monetization of their apps.
2.5 BENEFITS AND DRAWBACKS
i. ADSENSE
AdSense provides revenue by monetizing it through our companys website. This can
be the second income for our company as the traffic in our website is increasing steadily.
AdSense will only choose the appropriate advertisements that fit the overall subject matter of
our website. This will encourage visitors to click on the ads instead of ignoring them being
unhelpful or irrelevant. Our aim will always be being the highlight of the internet in order to
dynamically increase the traffic in our website. We will be more motivated to improve our
companys website as itll be a big part of our companys asset.
On the other hand, Google has the right to disable our companys AdSense account
when it detected click fraud in other words invalid clicks, where one ip is detected to be
continually and artificially clicking on one ad. In that case, our competitors will have the
chance to threaten and disturb our companys good synergy. Inappropriate or wrongly
placement ads will affect users experiences in our website as they will have difficulties to
assess their desired information.
ii. ADWORDS
AdWords makes our advertising budget friendly and easier to set up. AdWords
doesnt come with a contract so that we can control our budget and turn it on and off at will.
When our ads are going well and getting more traffics, we can consider increase our budget
for AdWords as the more budget we have the higher chance our ads will be published. We
are able to organize campaigns and advertise our products in a broader way. By using
AdWords, we can advertise our products more efficiently and gaining reputations and
exposures even more instantly. By implementing some creative ideas and attention grabber
into our ads, users will have the curiosity and interest to assess our website, hence increasing
the sale and popularity of our products and company.
On the other hand, AdWords ads are only visible to Google users. In other words, we
only pay for audiences who are using Googles services and not other search engines such as
Bing. By the pay-by-click system, websites users will sometimes mistakenly click on the ads
and immediately ignore or close them. We will end up paying for nothing in return.
iii. SURVEYS
If were monetizing our website using Google Surveys are possible and generate new
source of income much like AdSense. We can also publish surveys through Google Survey
with a cost and get almost instantaneous response from the consumers. By so, we can further
improve or make changes in our company's decisions which involve consumers perspective.
Surveys will not be as flashy or annoying as media ads as its just a few sentences of words
consist of question and answers.
Implementing Surveys will also take up our sites space and definitely affect
customers surfing experience. Affected customers may or may not visit our website again
and bad reputations will be created. Besides that, consumers or competitors might spam the
surveys and causes inaccurate result from the paid service.
iv. ADMOB
AdMob might be useful for us to monetize on our dedicated mobile app. Mobile
phone nowadays are getting larger and larger screen and there will always be spaces to
implant the ads via AdMob. AdMob is able to analyze the engagement of the app and
responses to the ads automatically which is very important to the ad revenue. AdMob helps to
reach customers worldwide and opens brand new opportunities for our company. We can
display our own products in the ads too within our apps.
The drawback of it is our companys mobile app is still in developing phrase, hence
Admob will not be as effective for our company for a moment. Admob will also causes
distractions to our customers if their phones screen size is not that big as the ad size and
content size will be imbalance. Hence, customers overall app experiences will be decreased
and then followed by their engagement.
3. CONCLUSION
As a conclusion, our company emphatically believed that with the collaboration with
Google Sites and Google Apps, we will soon pride ourselves to be the pioneer of the mobile
phone company industry across South East Asia, no doubt. By deeply understand how the site
works will directly or indirectly help the company to run smoothly and faultlessly.
Keep in mind that what weve unequivocally concurred, a companys site is equally
critical as companys pride. A website can depict the professionalism of one company, and
our site speaks volumes about our company. We trust all the employees in the company will
gain experience base on companys site and have a clearer image of it. Everyone in the
company should be collaborating well and enhance the company together. Its the key for
long-term business success and maintain our competitiveness among the industry.
Brace ourselves as we are now one step closer to archive our Vision 2030.
