An Interim Fix is a group of critical issues that have been repaired since the

product fix pack/patch was released.

The Interim Fix is cumulative and may contain other fixes in addition to the

issue(s) that affect your site.

The Interim Fix must be applied in full in order to be supportable.

Customers should validate this Interim Fix by installing the Interim Fix in a

test environment prior to rolling it out to a production environment.

Interim Fixes by their very nature go through a limited quality assurance cycle

and may or may not be included in the latest available program patch.

III. Installation Instructions

NOTE For Microsoft Windows 2008 users, you must log in as an administrator before you upgrade

to a Maximo Asset Management interim fix pack. If you attempt to upgrade when you are not

logged in as an administrator, the installation fails.

The Interim Fix file should be extracted into the <install_home> directory.

Before extracting the files into the <install_home> directory, take a backup copy of

the existing Maximo files and take a backup of the database.

When extracting, make sure that you select the Overwrite existing files and the Use

folder names options.

NOTE Uninstall Information - This Interim Fix is provided to you as a zip file.

It overwrites your existing Maximo directory structure and may contain database

scripts that modify your database.

If you would like to reverse your changes, you must restore your backed-up versions

of the Maximo directory and database.

Follow these steps to apply this Interim Fix:

1 Ensure that no database configuration changes are pending.

2 Shut down the Maximo application server.

3 Back up the database.


4 Copy the Maximo directory.

5 Extract the files into the <install_home> folder, selecting the Overwrite existing

files and the Use folder names options.

6 Run the 'updatedb.bat' utility to run all the interim fix database scripts:

a. At a DOS prompt, change directory to '<install_home>\tools\maximo'.

For example, c:\IBM\SMP\maximo\tools\maximo.

b. Run 'updatedb.bat'.

c. Run 'configdb.bat'.

7 Apply any manual updates listed in this readme.txt file. Manual changes if any are

listed for each APAR in the section "Manual Changes: "

8 Delete the application server cache, for example:

- Oracle WebLogic Server

<BEA_Root>\user_projects\domains\mydomain\MAXIMOSERVER\.wlnotdelete

- IBM WebSphere(R) Application Server

<WebSphere_Root>\AppServer\profiles\Custom01\temp\<machinename>Node01\MAXIMOSERVER

9 Delete the browse cache on every computer that uses the product.

10 Rebuild and redeploy the EAR files and then restart the application server.
SPECIAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (for users running multiple add-ons on Maximo):

For users who have installed more than one add-on on top of base Maximo

(eg: Transportation, Nuclear, Asset Configuration Manager etc.. on the same instance

of Maximo), follow these additional steps after following the instructions in the

"description" section for each issue#.

1. From a DOS prompt, type cd <MAXIMO>\tools\maximo.

2. From the <MAXIMO>\tools\maximo directory, run the updatedb.bat utility.

3. After step 2 is complete, rebuild the maximo.ear file by running the

buildmaximoear.cmd command from the <MAXIMO>\deployment directory.

4. Redeploy the new maximo.ear file on your application server, and then restart the

application server.
