President, Village Clerk Village Receives Improved Insurance Rating
Board of Trustees The Village received notification from the Insurance Services Office (ISO) that our Public Protection
Classification (PPC) has improved to Class 2. The PPC is an integral component of determining fire
insurance premiums within the Village. A low classification can mean low insurance rates, which means
savings for businesses and residents. Streamwood is one of only 1,565 communities rated Class 2 or
better of the more than 46,000 communities appraised by ISO nationwide.

The Village supported the successful effort to repeal the Cook County Soda Tax. It was noted that the
tax placed an undue burden on our residents and businesses, impacting business retention, attraction,
James P. Cecille and jobs for the community. The County Board voted to repeal the tax, effective December 1, 2017.
