Aragon High School Election Packet

Election Code:
On Thursday, September 2nd and Friday, September 3rd , student elections will take
place in center court for freshmen class officers during the Fall Semester, 2010:
For the Class of 2014
President
Vice-President
Secretary
Treasurer

Candidate Deadlines:
1. All forms must be completed and turned into the leadership box in the
office by 3:15 pm on Friday, August 27th.

Aragon Campaign Rules:


1. Campaign posters and signs must contain appropriate language and may not
contain profanity, racial slurs, or references to ancestry.
2. A candidate may not have more than 15 campaign posters.
3. Posters must be hung with red masking tape only. See Ms. Williamson for
tape. (No duct tape or other adhesive may be used. Signs with “other”
adhesives will be removed)
4. Campaign materials may not be posted in classrooms or administrations
offices.
5. Campaign materials must be supplied by each candidate, except for painters
tape. (i.e. paper and paints).
6. Faculty, Administration, or Staff members may not distribute campaign
materials for candidates.
7. Candidates may not remove, deface, destroy, or in any way vandalize
election materials belonging to another candidate. This will be cause for
disqualification.
8. Candidates must remove campaign materials by 3:15 on the last day of
elections, Friday September 3rd, 2010.
9. Candidates may not use candy (or any other form of bribery) for
campaigning.

Qualifications:
1. Students who are elected to an office must maintain a 2.5 grade point average, and
be passing five classes.
2. All detentions must be cleared and all fines paid prior to running for office.
3. Candidates must have three teacher signatures and two administration signatures
as a recommendation to their commitment, responsibility and capability to
perform effectively in a leadership capacity.
