Please, accept my highest recommendation of Janelle Kariniemi for employment as a Spanish teacher.
I had the pleasure to be her mentor for the 2016-17 academic year, and was impressed with her
superior language proficiency, outstanding work ethic and rapid growth in teaching competence.

Janelles extensive experiences abroad have enabled her to bring a rare depth of content knowledge
and authenticity to each lesson. During her student teaching experience, students thoroughly benefited
from her memorable and meticulously planned lessons that incorporated a variety of methods and
cutting edge media. She successfully combined whole group and small group instruction, as well as
pair and individual tasks, while making differentiated instruction a priority.

The quality that will make Janelle an invaluable asset to any staff is, in my opinion, her highly reflective
nature and awareness of best instructional practices. I believe our profession is clamoring for teachers
like Janelle, teachers with a growth mindset who are willing to continuously reassess and improve their
practice to best serve a diverse student population in our ever-changing world.
