Our target on this activity is to gain
competence in determining teaching
approaches and techniques considering the
individual differences of the learners in
terms of age, social and cultural diversity.
My observation report in Interaction

Name of FS student: Aubrey Jade M. Capunpun Course: BEED IV

Grade Level: Grade IV

School Observed: Paniqui North Central Elem. School

Observations:
Student-to-Student Interaction Patterns:

Interaction between the pupils is with the subject but most of the boys are
talkative. They interact even if there is a teacher present in the classroom. But
when the class had started they participate well in class discussion and
activities. They are also aggressive in answering questions asked by the
teacher.

Student-to-Teacher Interaction Patterns:

They interact with their teacher kindly and obediently. They raised their hands
to answer questions but wait when the teacher told them to do so. They are good
in answering questions both low order thinking questions and high order
thinking questions.

Teacher-to-Student Interaction Patterns:

The teacher is very friendly to his pupils. Whenever questions are answered
incorrectly he cares and respects the pupils ideas. He teaches them how to learn
the subject well. All in all, the teacher is very good in both teaching and
interacting with his pupils. He is also very friendly to the observers like me.
Student-to-Non-Teaching Personnel Interaction Patterns:

They respect the non-teaching personnel as they do to their teacher. They are
very polite whenever they greet us as we enter the classroom. They also talk to us
and ask about our visit in their school.

Teacher-to-Teacher Interaction Patterns:

They are all respectful by mean of interacting with each other. They have a good
sense of humor. They observed proper ethical behavior professionally. They
always share ideas and information.
Thoughts on partnership in curriculum
design
Cooperation and partnership in a curriculum design is
very important because if there is a partnership, not only
single idea can be presented but several which will
contribute to be a better concept for a curriculum design
and if there is a cooperation, the task involved will be
easier since the persons involved can work hand in hand
for the success of their work.

Cooperation and partnership is very important in

Curriculum design in a way that whatever flaws or
mistakes can be modified earlier.
A classroom is a
miniature of a greater
society

Teacher plays the role of a leader and at the

same time, a model while the pupils are the
citizens. These pupils are supposed to obey
and follow the rules and laws of the society
(class) that the leader (teacher) sets.

There are different kinds of pupils in every

classroom. Some are working hard and some
plays hard. Some did both and some neither do
anything. In society, you also get these kinds of
people.

Classrooms are similar

to our society

Any human interaction that can be found in the

society can be also seen in classroom setting.
There will be pupils that are more assertive than
others. Some are the pupils prone to bullying and
bullying boss that we cant all stand.

Observations
On the first day of my observation in Paniqui North
Central Elementary School with Sir Dante Santos, the class
adviser of Grade 4-B class. At first Im nervous and excited
at the same time. Upon entering the class the pupils
politely greeted us and our cooperating teacher
introduced us with them. The children are very active.
And just like other children, they are still playful. Their
attention is easily destructed by their seatmates or with
their other classmates. But when their teacher started to
give instructions they are all listening. I really like the
classroom atmosphere of the class. Their classroom is well
ventilated which means conducive to learning. The
teachers discussion is very effective to the learners. I feel
like more excited to know more every single one of them.
Im looking forward to learn more to our next meeting.
My Reflections

To teach is not an easy job, because it carries great

responsibility and utmost care. Effective educators
practiced these things and it is really tough and full of
sacrifices.

Teachers must extend their patience mostly, in dealing

with different behavior of the students, attitude and
character. During the teaching process, the teachers must
find different sets of motivation and teaching techniques
to promote effective learning and acquiring knowledge.
And mostly, teachers are the role model of education so
must be live with dignity and full dedication.

The strategy used by the teacher so that the pupils can achieve
learning is the Language Experience Approach. It is a teaching
strategy that integrates the four skills of language learning-
listening, speaking, reading and writing.

The type of assessment method used was formative test in a form of

short quiz and it was administered after the discussion. The intent
was to measure if the pupils have understood the lesson well.

The curriculum is learner-centered because the focus of all the

activities in the class revolves around the students. The students
during the lesson are very active and it is notable that the teachers
are knowledgeable about their lessons and are able to interact well
with students during the discussion.
My Reflections

While I am seating at the back of the classroom, observing, watching

the learners, I felt an optimistic feeling that as if I am already their
teacher. I could sense the oneness and unity among the learners
and the teacher because the learners intermingled positively with
their teacher. When their teacher asks a question they respond
instantly without hesitation.
