WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE EARTHS FUTURE?

They say that people are the only reasonable living organisms on Earth. Then we, people are
responsible for the Earths future. Our Earth is alive. In order to keep it alive it is essential that
each one of us takes responsibility for Earth and does our share, not only to recycle waste, but to
reduce the amount of waste. We must start using solar power as much as possible and treasure
the precious, limited resources. The well-being of humanity depends on preserving a healthy
biosphere with all its ecological systems, a rich variety of plants and animals, fertile soils, pure
waters and clean air. This is the way we as a humanity will be happy and healthy.

We have the knowledge and technology to reduce our impacts on the environment. We can do
simple things but when everyone feels responsible and does them we can solve our problems and
take care of the Earth. We can insist on recycling everything, use less water at home and we can
stop using our cars and use bicycles or go on foot more. This is good not only for the
environment but for us too.

Everyone shares responsibility for the present and future well-being of the human family and the
larger living world.
