abletoworkincoordination.Iftherewasnoplanning,employeeswouldbeworking
indifferentdirectionsandtheorganisationwouldnotbeabletoachieveitsdesired
goals.

Forecasting:
Forecasting is a common statistical task in business, where it helps to inform
decisions about the scheduling of production, transportation and personnel, and
provides a guide to long-term strategic planning.
Mainly the forecasting is about predicting the future as accurately as
possible, given all of the information available, including historical data and
knowledge of any future events that might impact the forecasts.

Characteristics of Forecasting:

1. Forecasting is concerned with future event.


2. It is necessary for planning process. Planning is not possible without
forecasting.
3. It consider all the factors which affects organisational functions.
4. The analysis of various factor may require the use of scientific, mathematical,
and statistical techniques.
5. Personal observation also helps forecasting.
