Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.
Prior to the activity students should be familiar with all of the American Symbols. This activity is to make sure
students are all understand the American Symbols and what they look like.

Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
Assess prior knowledge Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) To illuminate common
misconceptions Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of differentiation and
mastery for ALL students) Summative assessment of content knowledge Test preparation
Survey/Poll Discussion starter Homework collection Other (please explain):

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity:

During this activity students will get out their classroom iPads. They will pull up Kahoot! On their devices and
type in the code that I will give them. Once all students have typed in the code they will type in their names.
During the game, teacher will read the questions to the class and the students will answer correctly. This
should take around 15 minutes.

Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):

Multiple choice Multiple select True/False Yes/No
Short open-ended response or fill-in the blank Longer open-ended response

If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10):

Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?

Yes No
Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)

Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
Yes
No
Why or why not?

Yes, I will provided immediate feedback. Students should understand these questions and with the teacher
going over it again they will know the correct choice and I will know we will need to continue working on it.

Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity?

After all of the students have answered, teacher will look at all of the responses and decide what students
didnt understand. Teacher will come up with students who had similar misconceptions and place them in a
small group to review the material again.

How will the data be used?

The data collected from this activity will show what students did or didnt understand from my previous
lessons about American Symbols. Since this material was material the children should have known, it will be
awarded as a grade. The assessment will be shared with the childrens parents so they are able to do the quiz
with them as well if they did not score well on it. During the assessment, I will read the problems allowed for
all students to hear. For ELL students I would incorporate more visuals for them to look at.
