Possessives indicate belonging to and there are two different forms, determiners or pronouns.
POSSESSIVE DETERMINERS
The determiners go with the names and their function is to tell us more information about that name,
with possessive determiners the information that they give us is to who or what something belongs to.
They always go before the noun.
Example:

Your (tu, tus) Your (vuestro, vuestros)
His, Her, its (su, sus) Their (su, sus)
Examples:
My car is green. Our cars are green. Your bags are brown. Your bag is brown.
Mi coche es verde. Nuestros coches son verdes. Tus bolsos son marrones. Vuestro bolso es marrn.
His dad is tall. Her parents are short. Mark lost its appeal. Their friend is ugly.
Su padre es alto. Sus padres son bajos. Mark perdi su atractivo. Su amigo es feo.
POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS
The possessive pronouns can substitute nouns or phrases and indicate to who or what something
belongs to. They always go at the end of the sentence.
Example:

This car is mine. This is mine.

Singular Plural
Mine (Mo, mos) Ours (nuestro, nuestos)
Yours (tuyo, tuyos) Yours (vuestro, vuestros)
His, Hers, its (suyo, suyos) Theirs (suyo, suyos)
Examples:
The car is mine The cars are ours. This is yours. The shoes are yours. The ball is hers. Its his.
El coche es mo. Los coches son vuestros. Esto es tuyo. Los zapatos son vuestros. La pelota es suya. Es suyo.
GENITIVE CASE
The genitive case is another way to indicate possession and there are some differences with the
possessive pronouns. Its built with s. We always use it to indicate belonging to persons.
