METODOLOGA
As
2,1; 45>). As mismo hallaron diferencias estadsticamente significativas para las
variables DPP y VBG durante la gestacin encontrando un OR de 5,5 (IC: < 5,5;
OBJECTIVE
The primary objective of the present study was to determine the existing association
between the Violence Based on Gender and the Post-Partum Depression in the
Hospital San Bartolome; also, predictors of depression post-childbirth and the
sociodemografics characteristics and of the childbirth of the participant of the study
described themselves to the factors.
METHODOLOGY
The type of study was observacional of cross section, whose number of sample was
constituted percent women of 1-12 months of puerperal time. To those who it was
applied to them, previous signature of informed consent, a sociodemografic card of
data and the childbirth, the Scale of Depression Postnatal of Edinburgh (EDPE), the
Reviewed Inventory of Predicting Factors of Post-Partum Depression of Beck and
the Detection device of Violence Based on Gender. Later the cases of Post-
Childbirth Depression were catalogued operationally like those women who obtained
greater or equal to 13 points in the EDPE. The analysis of the data was made
applying the Odds tests Ratio, Chi-square and the exact test of Fisher, according to
outside advisable.
RESULTS
The study subjects were 100 women whose average of age was of 27,8+/-6,1
years, with an average of time of puerperium of 4,5+/-3,2 which affirmed in 56% of
the cases that their pregnancies were planned not finishing these gestations in 74%
by vaginal partum, 82% were in the average socioeconomic level and the more
frequent civil state was the one of not-married. One was that 4% presented low self-
esteem, depressed 27% to have felt before the pregnancy, 72% felt gotten
depressed and anxious 47% during the pregnancy and the 51 % presented sadness
post-childbirth. The rate of DPP was of 17% with an average of 7, 5+/-5 and one
fashion of 10 points for the scale of Edinburgh. Statistically significant differences
between the cases of DPP and self-esteem were history of previous depression to
the pregnancy, anxiety during the gestation, marital satisfaction and stressful events
during the gestation. Also; it detected that 51% of the women had been VBG victims,
being the psychological VBG the most frequent and pair the main aggressor. When
making the confrontation of cases of VBG and DPP was statistically significant
differences for test X2 (P= 0.001) and the measurement of association OR= 9.8
(IC: < 2, 1; 45>). Also they found statistically significant differences for psychological
variables DPP and VBG finding OR of 5.5 (IC: < 5, 5; 16, 7>). With which it finds
irrigation high to undergo DPP in those women that were victims of the VBG.
CONCLUSION
Were statistically significant differences between the cases of DPP and those of
VBG; also, one calculated that an elevated risk exists to undergo DPP in those
women that had been victims of the VBG.

Adicionalmente a
