 Application Document

Purpose

The purpose of this organization is for religious and

secular education. It has been created to serve as means
of bringing together the young, old and displaced
people to be progressive and innovative. We are
witnessing a generation of rapid rise in drug abuse, drug
addiction, rape, assault, incarceration, hooliganism,
shoplifting, vandalism and teen pregnancy among the
youths. We are witnessing a rise in the number of
HIV/AIDS cases among the young population because of
prostitution and pre-mature births. All these activities are
burdensome to the Federal government of America that
must spend millions of dollars for social relief services.
And the only way to stem the tide of these negative
traits that is affecting the larger community is through
ethical teachings and religious empowerment of the
youth population. For the peace and harmony to reign,
ethics should govern our daily activities and actions.
Since the future of this world lies in the hands of the
youths, this particular organization caters to the ethical
needs of the youth population. They have to be
educated and trained to cultivate honesty, truth, love
and peace as their guiding principles in all their
educational, social, cultural and political needs. When
this ethics is carried out more and more of our teenage
population will fill the classrooms instead of the jail
rooms. Any society needs a robust youthful population
and this association will make the kids know that the sky
is the limit and move the nation forward morally and
spiritually.

 Activities

Past: The Islamic Center of America here in Washington

DC created by us some years ago has continuous to serve
as the meeting point for youth religious empowerment
and education resource. They come there to learn about
peace, honesty, love, polite behavior, generosity,
kindness etc from the teachers and preachers of the holy
Koran. We have continued to see changes in their
attitude like abandoning drugs, vandalism and other
juvenile delinquencies.

Present: The Islamic center of America located in

Washington DC continues to serve the public of
Washington region. Prayer sessions are held regularly
there especially every Friday from 1:30pm to 2:30pm
after which the young people ask questions about Islam
and the Muslim character. Additionally, we also provide
electronic copies of interviews and sermons on Youtube
for the general public to view. The purpose of this
messages are meant to instill into the minds of the
Muslims all over the world the importance of peace, love
, harmony and progress.

Planned Activities: There are a number of plan activities
that are envisaged for the world assembly of ethics. A
detailed plan activity slated for December 2010 has been
announced on the website created for this organization:

 Ethics in our homes

A lot of homes are broken due to the fact that ethical

conducts have been shoved aside. Greed, individualism
and survival of the fittest principle has now become
home attitudes especially for our young population.
They have not been taught how to respect their elders
and submit to common rules and regulations for a
smooth functioning home. Divorces, and Separation too
have affected children in homes and they are left to fend
for themselves. Even some stable homes have domestic
abuse that children see and record those actions in their
memory that will resurface when they are adults. The
state spends a lot of money sponsoring program aimed
at restoring peace at homes but those actions seem not
to be bearing fruits because of lack of systematic ethical
standards and training which the world assembly of
ethics seem to advocate.

 Ethics in our jobs

Our jobs today are hardly satisfactory. One reason for

this is the lack of ethical conduct at our job place by both
the employees and the employer. Some of the good

conducts like obeying the manager, being courteous to
our clients or having respect for the employees have
been neglected. This is due to lack of concern for the
wellbeing of another. There is no love and trust between
us and when there is none of these elements present,
there is bound to be unethical behaviors. These
unethical behaviors can be characterized by disorderly
conduct, rudeness, disdain, mistrust and hypocrisy.
These are some of the ills that cause discomfort at work
place and a campaign for ethical principles can help to
restore the comfortable climate that should characterize
the work place.

 Ethics in leadership

Our leaders today whether at the helm of government,

corporation or educational establishment have declined
to carryout ethics of leadership. One of the unethical
conducts that is actually characterize our leadership is
the tendency to be corrupt. Future leaders should have a
forum that should teach them about good ethical
leadership characteristics. They have grown up seeing
how their elders, parents and guardians have exercised
unethical behaviors like being corrupt. Corruption is now
endemic and many people when elected to office cannot
avoid the allure of extorting huge sums of money
destined to build and promote progress for the greater
good of all. They siphon these huge amounts for
personal uses like expensive vacations, trips and owning
expensive property that they would otherwise not able
to pay for. This is due to lack of honesty, virtue, truth,
feelings and concern for the wellbeing of those under
their care. In order to restore transparency, truth and
honesty that should be the bane of leadership, there is
the need for a forum that should discuss these issues
with future young leaders.

  Ethics in media (journalism, radio and TV)

We all know that most people get their messages from

the new media gadgets that have become global. The
truth is that journalism is supposed to ethical. Anything
that is passed on to the people in the form of news and
information is supposed to checked and cross-check for
authenticity. This is what ethics is all about. Since we
have future young journalists in colleges today, there is
need for a movement that brings back ethics in
journalism. These ethics includes, impartiality in
reporting, balance research, credibility and truth. When
a story is told from an honest and transparent point of
view, there is little room for people to suspect any form
of manipulation. But today out television news programs
are filled with people eager to advance personal egos
and agenda than passing on credible information to the
curious public.

 Ethics in medical practices

Ethics is very important in the medical field. It is

important because it is directly linked to the survival or
death of the human being. This is where upholding the
basic cannons of truth, honesty and love are supposed to
be exemplified. But what we have now is a place bent on
making the bottom line. Profit making has become the
mainstay of the medical profession. This is happening
because those who are in the medical profession are
themselves not imbued with ethical principle. They are
more concerned about paying their bills and making the
most money than about the welfare of the people under
their care. This is one of the more reasons why a serious
ethical forum like the world assembly for ethics is needed
to bring back faith and conscience awareness to the
medical profession.

  Ethics in education

The educational set up from the elementary to colleges

and universities has known all sorts of unethical and
immoral behaviors by educators and students. Students
cheat in examinations. They forge diplomas in order to
get a job after graduation. Teachers sexually molest
students. They bribe their way through to promotions.
These and many more ills have rocked our educational
institutions. For us to begin to reverse these ugly trends
there is need for ethical standards that mankind can
conform to. It is by conforming without being forced to
that can help restore peace, progress and civil rights in
the educational set up. The future of the kids is that
there is need to restore trust and loyalty to their mind
before one can hope that the future generation will not
hold us accountable for all their misdeeds. The world
assembly for ethics is the association and movement that
can start to bring back hope, peace and love to the
world.

 Ethics in law practices

The judiciary is a place invested with corrupt practices

and illegal practices that sometime gain credence
because of the powerful lobby of one over the other.
Many people can get their way through even when they
have committed murder simply because they know how
to manipulate the system. But they fail to understand is
that this is not the kind of future that we can bequeath
to our children. Even if that is they way we grew up to
see the judiciary system, is it not our way to correct them
so as to have peace of mind and sow seeds of progress
for future generation? This is where world assembly for
ethics has a powerful message. We have tons and tons of
kids all eager to become future lawyers but what they
have in their mind, by and large is to make more money

rather than to change the system. This forum will help
them to achieve both goals.

 Ethics in local and national governments

The local government and national governments are

there for the political, economic, social and cultural
progress of the people. What happens in most cases is
that politicians elected by the people are filled with craft
and demagogy. These are not helpful to the progress of
the innocent citizens who are helpless in the face of
multiple decisions that are being taken without their
input. All these happen because ethics have been
pushed to the back bench for most people. The world
needs to respond and that is basically what the world
assembly of ethics intend to do. Without us looking for
avenues to bring back good deeds, truth, transparency
and genuine love with our actions to the people who
elected us then we are headed to doom.

 Ethics in agriculture

Agriculture is the industry that cater to our bodily needs.

This is the place where the greatest ethical standard
needs to be upheld. The hygienic conditions of the
natural produce needs to be upheld otherwise
consumers we will all end in sickbeds. We have people in
the agricultural fields who for one reason or the other
care more for their personal business profits rather than
thinking about providing decent product with decent
prices to the market. We also have people who cheat
their way through like evading taxes just to amass more
wealth for themselves and leave the masses to suffer.
This is one of the reasons why world assembly for ethics
is more important to bring the sense of oneness and
communal conscience awareness to the people so that
for once we can start to think less about ourselves and
more about the others.

  Ethics in business

There are all kinds of business dealings both national

and international that are supposed to be govern by
trade deals and tariffs. These trade protection deals are
put in place by the governing parties of governments,
states and local entities. There are meetings upon
meetings that are being held to uphold ethical standards
for all and sundry. But these ethical rules meant to satisfy
all the parties concerned are never followed by some
business entities resulting to malpractices and
corruption. It is the place of the world assembly of ethics
to discuss and organize workshops meant to instill the
need for upholding standards and norms in business
transactions that give us hope for the future. These are
some of the issues we will accomplish to create a healthy
atmosphere for business to blossom in the 21st century:

We have to find effective policies to:

 counter corruption,
 reduce greed and self-centeredness,
 encourage honor and honesty,
 promote parental guidance to establish a sense of
values,
 reduce the barriers to the freedom of inquiry,
 encourage respect for legitimate authority,
 support the identification and success of the
influence of role models,
 implement cost-effective strategies for global
education for a more enlightened world,
 and find ways to make behavior match the values
people say they believe in.

. Ethics in Tourism

Tourism is booming and flourishing. But one thing that
needs to be done about is that those entrusted in
handling national issues that warrants that our nation
be exposed and discovered by new comers need to care
for one thing: honesty and truth. The ethics of saying
things in black and white gives confidence to visitors and
provide confidence. Confidence building also enhances a
national character. In that respect, the national landmark
centers for every nation needs to be carefully preserved
because they are indeed, the national treasure.
Scheming games and gimmicks do not have a place in
tourism because they can quickly be discovered and
brought to public attention thereby making a country a
public ridicule. That is why those charge with providing
information.

 Ethics in Engineering

In engineering we expected to have the greatest ethical

conduct because these are experts in charge of building,
protecting and maintaining our infrastructures. These
structures include buildings, railways and bridges. When
the ethical standard of either putting the right materials,
design and technology are absent, the consequences
can be devastating. That is why putting in the necessary
tenets ethical rules are so important. It is also the issue of
making sure that those who are entrusted with the task
of awarding contracts to cater to people’s lives are
themselves honest, truthful, peaceful, humble and
obedient. The world assembly of ethics is entrusted with
expert teachers in all these areas to address the concerns
of engineers during their annual billion man march and
also during their workshops and seminars.

 Ethics in Public Policy

Public policy doctrine and decisions affect everybody in

the government, corporation and private entities. That is

why care has to be taken when making decisions that
affect the lives of the public. These decisions should be
guided by reason and ethics. Without adequate reason
and ethical concern for the public, disaster is bound to
occur. This disaster can be in the form of unmerited
sanctions, penalties and loss of valuable wealth and
property by the public. So when legislations are being
enacted for the benefit of the public and the future
citizens, ethics has to be abided by for the sake of public
decency. These ethical conduct for public policy should
be carefully carried out so as not to plunge the public
into utter confusion. This is where the world assembly of
ethics come into full force. When people are constantly
being told that they need to put their conscience first
and foremost before anything else, there will be room
for positive decision making practices.

 Ethics of Medical and Biomedical Research

Scientific research has to maintain the most ethical

standard. The reason to have the best ethical standard is
because the actions that are to be taken and the results
that are obtained affect the medical life of all mankind.
Most of the decisions that has come about as a result of
medical experiment from plants and animals to cure say
a medical ailment in humans should be done through
the best ethical principle. The world assembly of ethics
should constitute a meaningful forum to bring people
who engage in such research practices to learn more
about respecting the dictates of their consciences. The
overall aim of truth, honesty and honor for the
profession should be the overall goal for bio-diversity
researchers.

Conclusion

Behaving and acting ethically in the conduct of our daily

affairs whether in leadership, business or in educational
quest should be the creed for everyone. The world
assembly of ethics is an organization whose aim is to
champion the long lost glory of responsible actions. The
urge to exercise restrain that is governed by ethical
conduct like honesty, truthfulness, generosity, kindness,
charity and rule abiding principles should be the overall
aim for all of us. This project aims at bringing people
together to question their soul and consciences whether
what they are doing through the exercise of their daily
tasks is being done following ethical conduct.
